Salman Khan, Vivek Oberoi Shared Stage After Fight Over Aishwarya Rai; Video Reveals What Happened Next

News182 days ago
After their fallout over Aishwarya Rai, Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi shared a stage at an award show, but tension was clear as both avoided each other.
Who isn't aware of Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi's clash? Easily one of Bollywood's most controversial and talked-about conflicts began when Aishwarya Rai, after breaking up with Salman, started dating Vivek Oberoi. Since then, there were claims of several sorts. But did you know the two had shared the stage during one of the award shows after their fight over Aishwarya Rai? Here's what happened when they met.
It was during one of the award shows where Salman Khan, along with another person, came as a presenter of an award, and while announcing the results, it was revealed that Vivek had won the award for his role in Krrish 3. When Vivek came on stage, he ignored Salman Khan, shook hands with the other presenter, and posed with him. Similarly, Salman Khan too was seen avoiding any discussion with Vivek and stepped back as he came on stage to receive his award.
The Salman-Vivek fight
It all began when Vivek came into a relationship with Aishwarya Rai soon after she broke up with Salman Khan. The rift deepened when Vivek Oberoi hosted a press conference in April 2003, accusing Salman Khan of making threat calls and alleging that Bollywood's Bhaijaan was upset over his relationship with Rai.
This press conference later became a reason for severe backlash from the industry, and several colleagues then distanced themselves from him.
The apology
It was later that Vivek admitted his actions were immature, and in 2009, during an award show, after performing on stage, he publicly apologised to Salman Khan. Vivek bowed down, holding his ears as a gesture of apology, but Salman Khan did not acknowledge it and remained unmoved.
On Farah Khan's chat show, Vivek Oberoi revealed he regretted hurting Salman Khan's mother during their feud. He visited her in the hospital to apologise, moved by his own mother's pain over the backlash. The gesture reflected Vivek's sincere attempt to make amends and take responsibility.
Despite Vivek Oberoi's efforts to make amends, Salman Khan has reportedly never fully forgiven him. Their relationship remains strained to this day.

Karisma Had A Turbulent Life, Says Suneel Darshan: ‘She And Abhishek Bachchan Had Chemistry But…'

Suneel Darshan reflects on Karisma Kapoor's broken engagement with Abhishek Bachchan and calls her life 'turbulent but dignified'. Producer-director Suneel Darshan, who has worked with both Karisma Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan in the 2002 film Haan Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya, has reflected on the former couple's high-profile engagement and sudden breakup. The filmmaker called Karisma's life 'turbulent" but praised the strength of the Kapoor sisters and their mother Babita for enduring personal and professional challenges. 'Destiny Played With the Kapoor Girls' In a conversation with journalist Vickey Lalwani, Suneel Darshan described Karisma's journey as emotionally intense. 'Destiny has played a lot of turbulence in the life of the Kapoor girls," he said. 'They are fortunate to have the mother they do, who has always tried to protect them, even if it meant making mistakes in the process. Babita ji is not God. She's a human being and can make errors." He acknowledged the love and support the sisters received growing up. 'These girls were brought up with a lot of care and love. They were supported in their careers," he added, choosing not to go deeper into family matters. 'Karisma and Abhishek Had Chemistry' When asked about claims that Karisma and Abhishek lacked chemistry, Darshan disagreed strongly. 'Chemistry was there, you have to watch Haan Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya. Their chemistry in the film reflected their real-life bond," he said. He said that the breakup wasn't due to a lack of connection but rather external pressures. 'Sometimes the issues from outside their inner space created the problems and disturbed the whole thing," he added. 'I thought everything was good until that point. I still feel both Karisma and Kareena, I will stand by them anytime." Karisma and Abhishek's Brief Engagement In October 2002, Jaya Bachchan publicly announced Karisma and Abhishek's engagement at Amitabh Bachchan's 60th birthday bash. However, by January 2003, the engagement was called off without much explanation, leading to widespread speculation in the media. Life After the Breakup Abhishek Bachchan went on to marry Aishwarya Rai in 2007. The couple shares a daughter, Aaradhya. Karisma Kapoor, on the other hand, married businessman Sunjay Kapur in 2003 and later separated. She is now a single mother of two and continues to enjoy success as a performer and public figure. Karisma Kapoor's Marriage To Sunjay Kapur Was 'Abrupt', Says Suneel Darshan: 'She Became A Trophy'

Last Updated: Suneel Darshan opens up on Karisma Kapoor's 'abrupt' marriage to Sunjay Kapur, saying she didn't fit into Delhi culture and became a 'trophy' for the family. Filmmaker Suneel Darshan, who has worked closely with Karisma Kapoor, has opened up about her marriage to businessman Sunjay Kapur, calling it 'abrupt." Speaking to journalist Vickey Lalwani on his YouTube channel, Darshan reflected on Karisma's personal life, her bond with Sunjay's family, and how her life changed after the wedding. When asked if he reached out to Karisma after Sunjay Kapur's recent passing, Darshan responded with warmth and empathy. 'We've exchanged this thing… I've known the issue too deeply. Right from the first day, I've known exactly," he said, recalling how Karisma was best friends with Sunjay Kapur's sister since childhood. 'Some things just need to be buried," he added, hinting at Karisma's tumultuous married life. The Abrupt End of Karisma Kapoor-Abhishek Bachchan, and Sudden Marriage Darshan described both Karisma's breakup with Abhishek Bachchan and her wedding to Sanjay Kapur as sudden. 'I thought it was an abrupt decision… something had to do with the stars — not film stars — the stars," he said. He also suggested that the marriage may have followed the emotional aftermath of her broken engagement. 'One didn't know what it was… she was never seen as a couple with Sanjay before. Some things are destined to happen." Karisma Wanted to Be a Homemaker, Not a Socialite Darshan recalled how Karisma had envisioned a homely life post-marriage. 'She wanted to be a domesticated wife… She wasn't the kind who wanted to go play golf on a Saturday. She wanted to spend time at home," he shared. He described Karisma as someone grounded despite her stardom. She was 'a nice girl, a very nice girl like that… it's very sad." 'She Became a Trophy for the Family' Darshan didn't mince words when asked if Karisma had become a 'trophy wife' for Sanjay's family. 'I think that was where the problem came. That's what I heard," he said. 'She was placed into a world which was not hers. Delhi has its own culture and she wasn't fitting into it." Despite her fame, Darshan said Karisma was never pretentious and came from a legacy rooted in simplicity, being Raj Kapoor's granddaughter and a former No.1 heroine. But in her new life, 'she was in this palatial house with endless cars… and it just wasn't her world." Karisma Kapoor's ex-husband, Sunjay Kapur, passed away in June 2025. His death was attributed to a heart attack, possibly triggered by a bee sting during a polo match in the UK. Sunjay Kapur and Karisma Kapoor were married from 2003 to 2016. They have two kids together. First Published: July 25, 2025, 01:31 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Please keep discussions respectful and constructive. Akshay Quit Barsaat After Media 'Mentioned Of A Relationship' With Priyanka, Recalls Producer

Last Updated: Akshay Kumar walked out of Barsaat amid buzz of tensions with Priyanka Chopra. Producer Suneel Darshan recalls how the sudden exit left him shocked. Filmmaker Suneel Darshan recently opened up about Akshay Kumar's sudden exit from the 2005 romantic drama Barsaat, which originally starred him along with Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif. The producer-director, who has collaborated with Akshay in several films over the years, revealed that the actor backed out after shooting a romantic song with Priyanka, allegedly due to issues in his personal life. Barsaat was eventually done by Bobby Deol, Priyanka Chopra and Bipasha Basu. Speaking to journalist Vickey Lalwani on his YouTube channel, Suneel said, 'Barsaat was designed immediately after Andaaz to again be a triangular love story with a new dimension, and Akshay was cast in the lead role." He recalled how Akshay had date issues and asked for a slight postponement, which the producer agreed to. Romantic Track With Priyanka Already Shot Suneel had already recorded the music and even filmed a song featuring Akshay and Priyanka. However, delays crept in when Priyanka had to travel for international commitments. 'Priyanka Chopra had some international shows for which she was out for 3 months. So the film kept getting delayed," he explained. By the time she returned and it was time to begin the final leg of the shoot, Akshay invited Suneel to his set, something unusual, as they always met at the producer's office. 'He called me to inform me that there were some issues which were uncontrollable and had repercussions on his personal life. He asked me to take a decision on how we move forward." Was It Priyanka or Him? Producer Opens Up While rumours of a relationship between Akshay and Priyanka had already caught the media's attention, Suneel clarified that it wasn't about Akshay refusing to work with her. 'Either of them, the circumstances had reached such a point where… there were issues," he said, adding that the actor left it up to the producer to choose between the two. He continued, 'The audience, the public, the media did mention of a relationship, which the wife got more of…" Suneel further revealed, 'Suddenly after asking that person to wait for 18 months for your dates, you one day just say, 'Sorry, I can't be a part of it.' I was shocked." Akshay Promised Compensation But It Wasn't Enough Though Akshay reportedly offered to do another film to make up for it, Suneel chose not to proceed with him. 'He did want to compensate by saying that I did the next film for you. But I did not. I just thought this was unbelievable. Coming from Akshay… your expectations were never too much." Despite the setback, the producer harboured no hard feelings. 'He had promised me he would want to do 100 movies with me. I managed to do seven," Suneel concluded.
