As his 2025 farewell tour continues, Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena has addressed the possibility of a third and final match against his greatest rival, The Rock. While Cena is currently on a collision course with Cody Rhodes for SummerSlam, he commented on the idea of stepping in the ring with "The Great One" one more time.
Speaking at a recent FAN EXPO Denver panel, Cena was asked about the potential dream match. He confirmed it is an idea he would be open to exploring.
One Final Match?
While Cena said a third match against The Rock "would be cool," he explained his long-standing philosophy on choosing opponents. He stated that he has survived for 25 years in WWE by not setting expectations and instead focusing on the creative process of the story he is given.
"I don't like to choose opponents because a lot of time that doesn't work out," Cena said. "What I like to do is get a plan and say 'As the artist, can I be creative with the plan?' I've earned enough trust that they'll let me do some stupid stuff, I appreciate it."
Cena concluded by calling on the fans to make their voices heard. He said that the audience has the power to "dictate the direction" of his final matches.

A Historic Rivalry
A third match between John Cena and The Rock would be the tie-breaker in one of the most successful rivalries in wrestling history.
Their first match at WrestleMania 28 was billed as "Once in a Lifetime" after a full year of build-up, with The Rock emerging victorious in his hometown of Miami. The following year, at WrestleMania 29, Cena defeated The Rock to capture the WWE Championship.
Their feud was defined by intensely personal promos that blurred the lines between reality and entertainment. A third match would also have a completely new dynamic, as Cena is now performing as a heel for the first time in his career after "selling his soul" to The Rock at Elimination Chamber earlier this year.

Taking Accountability
During the panel, Cena also showed a moment of self-awareness regarding his own creative past. He explained that by focusing on the creative process, he can be held accountable for his failures, specifically referencing a famous and controversial storyline.
"You guys say I buried the Nexus, I've got to shoulder that cross forever," Cena admitted, referring to the infamous SummerSlam 2010 main event.
For years, fans and critics have argued that Cena's insistence on winning that match killed the momentum of the hottest angle in the company. His acknowledgment of that criticism shows his growth as a performer and his respect for the fans' perspective.

Nashua's Triple H pays tribute to Hulk Hogan after WWE legend dies. What he said.

Famous wrestler and World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) executive Triple H spoke out recently after Hulk Hogan's passing. The 71-year-old professional wrestling legend, whose real name was Terry Bollea, died on July 24, 2025, and many public figures have memorialized the late athletic entertainer, including Paul Levesque, the chief content officer of the WWE, also known as Triple H. Levesque, born and raised in Nashua, New Hampshire, made a post on Instagram honoring Bollea's legacy as a WWE superstar. "WWE would not be where it is today without the larger-than-life characters that compete in the ring … and few, if any, loomed larger than Terry 'Hulk Hogan' Bollea," Levesque said. Here's what else Levesque said about Bollea. Triple H on Hulk Hogan's passing Levesque, like Bollea, was also a popular wrestler in the WWE and remembered one moment he shared with the departed wrestler in the Instagram post, posting a 2002 photo of himself and Bollea in a wrestling ring as well as a series of photos of Bollea as Hulk Hogan. "He was the archetype of what it meant to be a 'Superstar' - a global sensation that inspired millions to work hard at whatever it was they wanted to accomplish and a look that made him recognizable to fans around the world," Levesque said. Bollea was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame twice, the first time in 2005 by Sylvester Stallone as Hulk Hogan, and the second time as "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan as part of the New World Order, a wrestling faction Bollea formed with Kevin Nash and the late Scott Hall. "Hulk Hogan, clad in red and yellow or nWo black and white, was simply put, iconic," Levesque said. "As a Real American or the leader of one of the industry's biggest factions, he transcended and elevated the entire business to heights never before seen - in every country and on every continent." The WWE executive went on to say that his family gives their condolences to the Bollea family as well as friends and fans of the deceased entertainer. Rin Velasco is a trending reporter. Marvel, a shelter dog on his way out for a walk, couldn't contain his excitement and accidently pulled the fire alarm that led to an evacuation of the building. A volunteer from the Atlanta Humane Society came to walk a few of the dogs at the animal shelter, giving them a break from the loud environment, a chance to stretch their legs and release their energy. However, the plan backfired when Marvel, a terrier mix, took his excitement for the walk to the next level. The security camera at the shelter captured Marvel jumping for joy as the volunteer started to walk toward the door, a common behavior for this dog. "The volunteer says he always gets very jumpy and excited to go outside and play in the yards," a representative from the Atlanta Humane Society told Newsweek via Instagram. Unable to control his emotions, the dog started bouncing off the walls and wagging his tail. He just so happened to hit his paws on the fire alarm, pulling the handle down. The shelter's July 24 Instagram video, under the account @atlantahumane, showed Marvel's reaction once he realized the consequences of his actions. The fire alarm blared throughout the building. He paused, looked around without a clue that he had caused the alarm to go off. "The entire staff did evacuate because it took a bit for word to circulate on why the alarm was going off," the representative told Newsweek. Thankfully, it was all a misunderstanding. The shelter jokes that Marvel did it on purpose to get a future adopter's attention. Marvel still awaits his forever home. This nearly 2-year-old dog is full of energy and loves to play in water. He's ready for an adventure at any moment, which the shelter believes he'll fit best with an active family. But he also has a sweet side, offering affection at any chance he can. Marvel qualifies as a Foster First, a program that allows people to foster him for 14 days before adopting to ensure he is the perfect fit.
