'Pretty Little Baby' Singer Connie Francis Passes Away At 87
If you've spent any time on TikTok or Instagram for the past two months, you've most likely come across countless videos using the 1962 song 'Pretty Little Baby'. It was reported that Connie Francis, the singer behind the viral hit, has sadly passed away. She was 87 years old.
Earlier this month, Connie Francis reassured fans that her health was improving after being hospitalised for severe pain she was experiencing. Sadly, yesterday (Thursday, 17th July), Ron Roberts, a longtime friend and president of Concetta Records, confirmed the news that the icon had passed away the night before. 'I know that Connie would approve that her fans are among the first to learn of this sad news,' he wrote in a statement that was also shared on the singer's official Facebook page.
The cause of death has yet to be disclosed. Connie Francis is well known for many of her hits, including 'Stupid Cupid' — famously covered by Mandy Moore in 'The Princess Diaries' — 'Where the Boys Are', and the recently viral 'Pretty Little Baby'. The 1962 song has been featured in countless TikTok and Instagram videos, often used to celebrate newborns or express appreciation for a loved one. It has also become popular in more playful and comedic content.
Regardless of the context, the world has fallen back in love with the track. After the song went viral, Connie admitted to PEOPLE that she wasn't sure what the sudden attention meant, revealing that she had even forgotten about the song's existence until she was reminded of it. Nevertheless, she expressed her gratitude to those who showed appreciation for her music.
Just two months after 'Pretty Little Baby' went viral, fans are now mourning the death of the icon. We'd like to extend our deepest condolences to her singer's loved ones. May they have the strength to get through this difficult time. Let us all remember Connie by enjoying the viral song one more time.

Fans React To Alleged Scalper Reselling Insider Tickets To NCT DREAM's KL Concert
It's bad enough that fans have to contend with scalpers whenever a concert is announced. But what's even more frustrating is the suspicion that some tickets may have already been set aside for insiders linked to the concert organiser. This was one of the issues discussed regarding G-Dragon's recent concert in Kuala Lumpur. It seems that fans of a K-pop group may be facing a similar situation. One scalper has allegedly claimed to be reselling insider tickets to NCT DREAM (엔시티 드림)'s upcoming concert in Kuala Lumpur, despite the fact that official ticketing details have yet to be released. Here's what happened: As many fans will know, NCT DREAM are set to perform in Kuala Lumpur this December as part of their 'The Dream Show 4: Dream The Future' tour. Earlier this week, a Twitter user discovered that an alleged scalper from Indonesia was reselling insider tickets to the upcoming concert via Instagram Story, though the individual's username had been cropped out. According to the screenshot, the scalper claimed to be selling VIP standing tickets. As the official ticketing details have yet to be announced, the fan was understandably baffled as to how the scalper had managed to obtain the passes. This has raised suspicions that the individual may be an insider themselves, or at least connected to someone within the event's organising team. As expected, the post instantly went viral with many calling out Live Nation Malaysia, urging them to explain if this is true or if the scalper was simply trying to scam fans. Others requested that the Twitter user expose the scalper so they can be reported. Some have also urged the organiser not to follow in the footsteps of another local company that was previously accused of prioritising foreign attendees. At the time of writing, Live Nation Malaysia has yet to address the issue regarding the alleged scalper and the supposed insider ticket. The alleged scalper, however, who has now been identified, has since set their account to private following the exposure. Hopefully, this is simply another case of a scalper attempting to scam fans into purchasing a non-existent ticket. It wouldn't be the first time, as something similar occurred when BIGBANG's Taeyang announced his concert. What do you think? Source: Twitter

#NSTviral: Brothers crash wedding and leave with full hearts [WATCH]
KUALA LUMPUR: What began as an impromptu stop turned into a heartwarming reminder of Malaysian warmth and unity, when two brothers were welcomed as guests at a stranger's wedding. While en route to Seremban, Negri Sembilan, brothers Devaraj David and Devadass David noticed a Malay wedding taking place nearby and decided to stop to have a look. Without an invitation and knowing no one at the event, they stood tentatively at the entrance. To their surprise, a man stationed at the gate welcomed them without hesitation and invited them to join the feast. A relative of the bride and groom later approached the brothers and asked if they were related to anyone at the celebration. "We actually don't know anyone here. We were just passing by and saw the celebration," Devaraj replied. The relative then asked why they weren't eating, to which the brothers laughed, saying that the warm welcome had already filled their hearts. "I came in uninvited, and yet everyone welcomed us. That alone made us feel full," said Devaraj. In the video, he also admitted he had initially been worried they would be asked to leave the wedding. "I thought someone might punch me. But instead, everyone welcomed us with open arms," he said. Before departing, the brothers met the bride and groom, offered their blessings, and even requested a Tamil song to be played in honour of the couple. "The song is a wish for them to live happily together for a hundred years. "We came uninvited, but we left with full hearts, feeling loved and like part of the family." The touching encounter has resonated deeply with Malaysians online, with the video garnering over 1.3 million views and 101,800 likes on TikTok at the time of writing. Netizens described the moment as a beautiful reflection of unity in diversity, and a testament to the everyday kindness that continues to define the Malaysian spirit.

Compiled by C. ARUNO, BENJAMIN LEE and R. ARAVINTHAN THE sudden loss of her job spurred a determined mother in Raub to start a food business to support her family and pay for her daughter's heart treatment, reported Kosmo!. Amizaliana Baharom, 41, runs a small home-based food business after her contract as a cleaner in a palm oil mill was not renewed. She makes kuih sepit, sambal pucuk ubi and sambal kantan with her mother, Narizan Wahab, 61, to sell around the village. 'This is just the beginning. We are producing in small batches and hope more shops will take our products,' she said. From the earnings, Amizaliana helps cover family expenses and finance her 18-year-old daughter Nur Alya Najihah's treatment for a perforated heart. Nur Alya underwent surgery in 2020 at a cost of RM42,000. 'Thankfully, we received some financial assistance, but we still had to pay a portion. She no longer requires medication, but continues to be monitored by doctors,' said Amizaliana. Her husband works as a school security guard, earning about RM2,000 a month and lives apart to care for his elderly father. With limited income, Amizaliana worries about their son who excelled in the STPM and dreams of becoming a teacher. > Actress Siti Saleha has confirmed that she's expecting her first child, ending over a week of viral pregnancy speculation, reported Sinar Harian. The 35-year-old shared the wonderful news with her fans on Instagram, with a photo of her husband Joshua Fitton in Bali. Eagle-eyed fans immediately noticed Siti was also holding up an ultrasound scan. 'We've been keeping it a secret for long. Josh ate a little too much, and his tummy looks really bloated.
