Kaulig Racing NASCAR Cup Series driver Ty Dillon fumed at rival Zane Smith after All-Star Open at North Wilkesboro Speedway on Sunday.
After a wreck during the race involving the No. 10 Chevrolet and No. 38 Ford, Dillon was seen in a heated exchange with the Front Row Motorsports driver. While speaking to the media, Dillon fumed:
"If he wrecks me again, I'm just going to beat his ass."
Commenting on the wreck itself, the 33 year old driver added:

Dillon ultimately finished the All-Star Open in third, whereas, Smith crossed the line in sixth.

Carson Hocevar secured the All-Star Open victory, advancing to the All-Star Race along with second-place finisher John Hunter Nemechek.
Commenting on the win, Hocevar explained:
"Yeah, super big for this group, this team. It's great to win, especially being challenged by tires there. I had my hands full. We definitely have to go to work here on our race car because I didn't really like it, but it's a good sign that we didn't like it and we were still pretty quick there.
"Hopefully we can take advantage of it. I've seen Kasey Kahne win and Dale and others win from the Open and stuff. Maybe we can take that advantage of having this notebook and move forward early and be able to take this Chevy up front."
Nemechek also commented:
"We have a shot to go win a million dollars. Hats off to this No. 42 team. We unloaded and we had good two- or three-lap speed, but no longer on pace.
"Proud of them for the effort they put in yesterday and what they were able to find, and pitting there at that last deal, I knew I couldn't win from where I was at. We came and got two (tires) and that helped us out. Hats off to the whole 42 team. Proud of the effort."

The investigation is related to in-game prop bets on two pitches thrown by Ortiz that received higher activity than usual during his starts at Seattle on June 15 and his recent outing against St. Louis on June 27. The gambling activity on the pitches was flagged by a betting-integrity firm and forwarded to MLB. ESPN reported the firm IC360 recently also sent an alert to sportsbook operators regarding Ortiz. The Athletic was the first to report that Ortiz's suspension was related to gambling. MLB said Ortiz's paid leave is through the end of the All-Star break, when players return to their teams July 17 and games resume the following day. It can be extended if the investigation remains ongoing. Chris Antonetti, Cleveland's president of baseball operations, said before Thursday night's game at the Chicago Cubs that the team can continue to have contact with Ortiz, but he can't enter any of the Guardians' facilities. Ortiz returned to Cleveland on Wednesday night. Ortiz was slated to be the starting pitcher for Thursday night's series finale. Instead, left-hander Joey Cantillo was recalled from Triple-A Columbus. Cantillo is 1-0 with one save and a 3.81 ERA in 21 appearances this season. 'We learned very little last night, but knew we needed to get someone here today to start today's game, and that really was our focus,' Antonetti said. 'A lot has come out today, and that's far more information than we have. 'Our focus is we'll let the investigative process play out. To the extent Major League Baseball or anyone needs our support in that, we will obviously cooperate. But beyond that, there's really not much we can do.' Manager Stephen Vogt said he and Antonetti addressed the team about Ortiz's situation and tried to answer questions the best they could. In four big-league seasons, Ortiz is 16-22 with a 4.05 ERA and one save. Brewers pitcher Brandon Woodruff scheduled to return from shoulder surgery Sunday in Miami
Associated Press NEW YORK (AP) — Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Brandon Woodruff is scheduled to make his long-awaited return to the majors this weekend in Miami. The two-time All-Star planned to throw a bullpen Thursday at Citi Field before Milwaukee's game against the New York Mets. He is lined up to start Sunday against the Marlins in the finale of a three-game series. Woodruff hasn't pitched in the big leagues since undergoing shoulder surgery after the 2023 season. He is 46-26 with a 3.10 ERA in 115 career starts and 15 relief appearances. 'He's such a big part of the Brewers organization,' manager Pat Murphy said. 'I'm really excited for him.' Woodruff left his first rehab stint this season with tendinitis in his right ankle. He was pitching for Triple-A Nashville again on June 3 when a 108 mph line drive struck him in the right elbow, leaving a bruise that delayed his return. NEW YORK — Natasha Cloud scored 11 of her 23 points in the third quarter and sparked a huge run to lead the New York Liberty to an 89-79 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks on Thursday night. Breanna Stewart added 17 points and 14 rebounds and Sabrina Ionescu had 20 points for New York (12-5). The defending champion Liberty trailed 53-42 midway through the third before Cloud and Ionescu got going. Dearica Hamby scored 25 points to lead Los Angeles, which got a boost with the return of Rae Burrell. She saw her first action since injuring her knee in the opener. She checked in late in the first quarter and played 12 minutes, finishing with five points. The game also marked the debut of Julie Vanloo, whom the Sparks picked up off waivers two hours before tip-off. She came in early in the second quarter and played two minutes. New York was still missing star forward Jonquel Jones, who has been sidelined with a sprained ankle. Jones told reporters on Wednesday that she's progressing well, but didn't want to put a timetable on her return. The Liberty welcomed back Fiebich, who had been playing for Germany in the EuroBasket tournament over the last few weeks. Los Angeles built a 41-37 halftime lead behind 10 points from Hamby.
