Faith is nurtured. Our elders teach babies to eat first, and as they grow, they are shown the correct way to eat healthy. Similarly, the Vedas are the primary source material for guiding all in the spiritual journey of one's life, which runs concurrently with the pursuit of earthly goals. People may pray to Vishnu, Siva or Subrahmanya, Surya or others as ordained in the Vedas; however, Sakti is the goddess that the ordinary people worship. She is sometimes given shape to, in villages, merely by stacking a couple of bricks, with full faith in Her power. While She is celebrated throughout the year, the grand Pattabhishekam of Sarva Jagan Mata at Ambaji Saktipeet in Gujarat, during the Ashada Navratri (falling between June 25 to July 4 this year) is one of the most significant ones, said Damodara Dikshidhar.
The Lalita Sahasranamam says, 'Rajat Krupayai Namaha; Raja Peeta Niveshita Nija Shritayai Namaha:', signifying the importance of receiving Her divine grace when one is caught in various life situations such as a sudden misfortune, knowledge of impending danger or difficulty, harmony when one's marriage hits discordant notes, accumulation of wealth rightfully and gaining not just an education but also learning to navigate various impediments in the journey of life.
Those visiting the shrine in Ambaji cannot fail to observe the richness and fertility of the land, with Ambal looming majestically over the place, held to be the heart of the 51 Sakti Peetams, bestowing Her blessings on those who pray to Her. She embodies not only spirituality but also sets a remarkable code of conduct for all to follow, helping everyone to lead a sinless life.
Legend has it that when a pious king prayed to Her and asked Her to remain where She was and bless the earth and his subjects, She agreed, on the precondition that none talk ill of others. If anyone broke this moral code of conduct, She would leave. As an embodiment of Durga, Saraswati and Lakshmi, the Jagan Mata's Pattabhishekham, conducted with various homams and pujas, attracts both the rich and the poor.

Rama and dharma

The Vedas are the root of dharma, and the Sastras have been written based on them. Rama is the embodiment of dharma, and praising Rama amounts to fostering dharma. How did Rama follow dharma? Rama was born to King Dasaratha, who followed dharma and lived according to righteous principles. Additionally, Rama learned from sage Vashista, who taught him all the dharmas and sastras. On one occasion, when Lakshmana, going out of control in a fit of rage, said he would conquer fate (vidhi). Rama replied to Lakshmana that he had not thoroughly learned the Vedas, as no one could win the same. Lanka Sri Jeyaraj said in a discourse that learning is of two types. The first is learning knowledge at the book level, and the second is gaining knowledge through experience. Sage Viswamitra asked Rama to slay the demoness Tataka. Rama hesitated as she was a woman, recalling the teachings of Vasishta that women and emissaries should not be killed. Rama also considered whether Viswamitra harboured any personal animosity towards Tataka. Viswamitra told Rama, 'I am not without knowing dharma. You hesitate by applying your book knowledge learned from Vasishta, but there is something more beyond that.. Tataka, though in the garb of a woman, does not possess the essential qualities of womanhood and nothing wrong with killing her.' Viswamitra imparted practical knowledge to Rama. Then Rama changed his mind. Mahodhara, one of the counsels, suggested to Ravana to take the form of Rama and approach Sita to change her mind. Ravana replied that he had already tried those tactics, but they had not worked because whenever he took the form of Rama, his mind refused to think of any other woman except his wife Mandodari. Poet Kambar says dharma is endless (Eeril Nallaram), and it grows more and more with the good and positive attitudes of people.

‘Tamil hymns to be recited for Tiruchendur temple consecration'

Madurai: Arrangements have been made for the recital of Tamil hymns and verses, along with Thirumurai, primarily alongside Sanskrit hymns and Vedas during the consecration ceremony of Subramaniya Swamy Temple in Tiruchendur in Tuticorin district on July 7, authorities informed the Madras high court. Following this, the court on Wednesday dismissed a batch of petitions, which sought a direction to conduct the consecration using Tamil spiritual mantras and hymns equally. In the counter, the joint commissioner/executive officer of the Tiruchendur temple submitted that starting from yagasalai to the final consecration, effective arrangements were made by the temple administration to recite and chant Tamil hymns and verses, Panniru Thirumuraigal primarily, along with Sanskrit hymns and Vedas during the consecration. A division bench of justice S M Subramaniam and justice A D Maria Clete observed that, as per the counter affidavit, the procedures prevailing are being followed by the temple authorities. The petitioners are unable to establish any right for the grant of the relief as sought in the present petitions. In the absence of any right, the court cannot issue any such direction. The judges observed that it is needless to state that the procedures contemplated under the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Act and Rules are to be followed for administering the temple functions. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Gentle Japanese hair growth method for men and women's scalp Hair's Rich Learn More Undo If there is no provision, then the govt should recognise certain practices, or the HR and CE commissioner should recognise certain practices, as the case may be, which are prevailing in a particular temple.
