Why Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom Never Married
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have officially ended their engagement seven years after Orlando proposed on Valentine's Day 2018. And apparently Katy is relieved that they never got married since now she doesn't have to navigate a painful divorce. Direct quote form an Us Weekly insider: "Katy is of course upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life." That said, the former couple almost got married right after their engagement—but then Covid happened, they had a daughter, and eventually hit a rough patch where marriage was simply "not on their radar." "They were looking forward to marrying fast after getting engaged and then COVID got in the way," a source recently told The Daily Mail. "[When] they got engaged, she was expecting, so everything came fast, and she was looking forward to heading down the aisle pregnant. It was actually something she wanted to happen. But with the unknown of COVID and travel restrictions, they had to postpone their nuptials." The insider added that "As time passed, she released new music, set up for a tour, left American Idol all while juggling being a new mom. There just wasn't anytime to put a wedding together. The chances of breaking up were more likely than getting married." The good news is that Katy and Orlando are amicable and planning to coparent their daughter Daisy. More on their breakup plans...

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom's 9-year love story ends as the couple part ways
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom ended their 9-year relationship, sharing a 4-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove. They got engaged in 2019 but postponed their wedding due to Covid-19; their relationship had ups and downs since beginning in 2016. Rumours suggest Bloom will attend Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez's wedding alone while Perry continues her world tour. American musician Katy Perry and actor Orlando Bloom have ended their 9-year relationship. According to People, the couple, who share a four-year-old daughter named Daisy Dove, got engaged in 2019 but were forced to postpone the wedding due to the Covid-19 pandemic, which hit just a year later. Their romance began in 2016 after meeting at a Golden Globes afterparty. Later that year, during an episode of American Idol, Perry shared the story of their initial encounter, saying, 'I met my boyfriend over In-N-Out. We were at the Golden Globes, and we weren't together, so I had my security guard grab 10 In-N-Outs and all of a sudden, I see my boyfriend's hand — he wasn't even sitting at our table — he just swoops in, and he grabs it, and I was like, 'Hey, that's my burger!'' Six months later, the pair made their first red carpet appearance together at the Cannes Film Awards after making things official on Instagram. This isn't the first time the Teenage Dream singer and the Lord of the Rings actor have parted ways. In 2017, roughly a year after they started dating, they announced their break-up with 42-year-old Bloom, revealing that they will always be friends. By 2018, the couple were rumoured to be spending time together again but weren't labelling the relationship. In March 2020, after their engagement, the couple welcomed their baby girl. Now rumours are rife that the actor will attend the most talked about wedding of the season - Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez's Italian soiree - without Perry by his side. According to TMZ, the newly single star plans to party hard while Perry focuses on her world tour.
