He dropped to his knees after the clock ran down but he still bagged a small fortune for charity
Stephen Mulhern welcomed Chris Ramsey, Heather Small and Kelvin Fletcher to play Celebrity Catchphrase.
And it was Geordie comedian Chris, 38, who advanced to the final round.
He made fast work of the pyramid - and found himself facing the £50,000 jackpot puzzle with over 20 seconds on the clock.
The riddle showed a group of seven '1's' standing on a stage, all holding trophies or wearing a first place ribbon.
Chris guessed: "First place... first cup... first prize... first stage", but to no avail.
His time ultimately ran out missing the jackpot - but he still bagged an impressive £25,000 for his charity.
Asked by Stephen how he felt, Chris replied: "Great, but very annoyed that I'm playing for a theatre and the last one looked like it had something to do with theatre.
"I'm absolutely fuming, what was it?"
Stephen then revealed the elusive answer was actually "Everyone's a winner."
Combined with the £6,400 Chris won in the earlier rounds, his charity The Customs House, which provides community arts and entertainment events on South Tyneside, landed an incredible £31,400.
Emily Atack left stumped by three tricky Celebrity Catchphrase riddles in nightmare finale
It's not the first time Catchphrase's tricky puzzles have stumped famous faces.
Emily Atack was left flummoxed by three difficult riddles in a nightmare finale.
The Rivals actress competed alongside Brenda Edwards and Martin Kemp.
In the final round, the wheels quickly fell off for the actress as she struggled to get an answer to secure £2,500.
The first catchphrase saw a man chop into a cauliflower in his kitchen, revealing cheese inside.
After a couple of unsuccessful guesses, Emily moved on to another, which featured two men shaking hands over a loaf of bread.
They then smashed it with mallets, but Emily didn't have a clue and cried: "What? These are hard!"
She then moaned "Oh no!" before deciding to move on to another, but the situation did not improve.
As the clock ticked down, she was shown a box on a street which opened to show letters inside.
She passed, and went for a fourth go at securing £2,500, with the catchphrase showing a couple trying to check into a hotel, with a fully booked sign next to the front desk.
Ultimately, she won £2,500 and added to the money she had won earlier in the show, took a total of £7,200 to her chosen charity.
Celebrity Catchphrase airs on ITV1 and ITVX.

Linda Robson's Loose Women fears amid brutal cuts at ITV - 'I'm praying'

The show favourite opened up about the future of the panel show and what it means for her Linda Robson says she's 'worried' about the future of Loose Women as ITV look to make huge savings across its daytime shows. In May it was revealed the much-loved panel show would be axed for half the year as bosses eyed up massive cuts in a bid to save millions. ‌ Birds Of A Feather star Linda, who's appeared on the show for 20 years, says the threat to its future has left her 'praying' it doesn't get cancelled. 'We are all rallying together,' she said. It's been reported that when budget cuts come into effect in January it'll mean the show will no longer have A-list guests in the studio and their live audience will be a thing of the past. ‌ ‌ There are growing fears the ITV staple could even be cancelled within a year. 'It will be very sad if we can't have guests,' sighed Linda, 67. ITV is slashing the budgets of its biggest daytime shows including Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, Loose Women and This Morning, including halving the number of jobs and significantly reducing the time some of them are on air. The cuts at ITV Studios, which makes all four shows, mean more than 220 of 440 staff involved will lose their jobs. 'It's a shame people are losing their jobs,' Linda went on. 'We're all like a family. We've been together through births, marriages, deaths. It's been very hard. Everyone's worried about the show. We're just trying to stay positive and hope for the best. But hopefully it's not going be as bad as it already is.' The show features a rotating panel of presenters who debate hot topics, big issues and the news of the day. It's welcomed huge names on as guests like supermodel Naomi Campbell and singer Janet Jackson. Running since 1999, it is filmed in front of a live studio audience - although recent reports suggest that this has now been cut and will be implemented next year. ITV haven't confirmed the move. ‌ Fellow Loose Women presenter Nadia Sawalha previously told how everyone was now fearing for their jobs. 'What people don't realise at Loose Women is that we're self-employed,' she explained. 'I am self-employed. Every contract is a new contract. I could be let go tomorrow. I could be let go in five years. You don't know because we're not employees.' Looking back at her time on the long-running show - famous for debating debate hot topics, big issues and the news of the day - Linda explained why she's been perfect for the panel. 'I've got a loose mouth,' she laughed on the red carpet of the National Reality TV Awards in London. 'I'm always getting told not to swear in my ear. They try and stop me from doing it. I'm under Baggy Mouth in the group chat.'

‘Nobody wants this!' scream Love Island fans as controversial challenge returns and viewers threaten to ‘switch off'

THE iconic baby challenge is making a comeback to Love Island tonight but fans are feeling far from ready. In the coming episodes, viewers will witness the Love Islanders coupled up and doing their best to take care of a screaming baby doll. 4 4 The Love Island challenge is supposed to truly test all of the sets of couples to see if they can keep their cool and successfully look after a little one. For some, the challenge will bring them closer. But others may leave thinking twice about whether they wish to have children in the future. Fans of the show are far from happy to hear the news though, taking to social media to express their disappointment in seeing the challenge return. 'We wanted the tweet challenge back!! No one cares about some f*** ass baby dolls,' said one user. A second shared: 'I actually hate the baby doll challenge. Lol this is when I stop watching'. A third agrees: 'There is nothing I hate more than the baby challenge, actively skip it everytime.' The ITV2 show made the decision to axe the baby challenge after nine seasons back in 2023 to allow space to welcome new tasks and challenges to the show. A sports day event was instead switched in place that year, and saw the Islanders competed in various athletic and silly games. At the time, fans were sad to see the baby challenge go, deeming the replacement as 'boring and dull'. One Twitter user shared: 'All I wanted was Tyrella in the baby challenge. Was that too much to ask for???'. But this year it seems that viewers feel the opposite way. Lasting love has been found in the villa for ex-Islanders, including Molly-Mae Hague, 26, and Tommy Fury, 26, who made it through the baby challenge in 2019. The couple, who briefly split in August last year, welcomed their first child, daughter Bambi, back in 2023. With tensions already high between many of the duos in this year's lineup, including Dejon and Meg, it's going to be interesting seeing what unfolds. Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2. 4 4

Love Island series 12 is wrapping a close soon, with fans raving over the latest series of the hit ITV reality dating show. From shocking dumpings and recouplings, to wandering eyes and heads turning, the show has hooked viewers in once again with its never-ending source of drama. Ex-islander Shaughna Phillips spoke to NationalWorld in an exclusive chat on behalf of Card Player and gave her thought on the show's 10th anniversary series. Shaughna, who appeared in the sixth season of the show in 2020, said: 'I think it's been great! I mean, it's been the 10-year series so we were definitely expecting fireworks. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad 'There's also been less challenges and more twists and turns. As a viewer, that's been great because we all like to see the odd challenge here and there, but they don't actually make any difference to the storyline. Whereas the twists and turns that they've added this year, the dramatic effect is just unmatched.' Former Love Island star Shaughna Phillips has spilled her thoughts on series 12 of the ITV reality show. | Getty Images As for standout moments this series, Shaughan joined Love Island viewers in being hooked into the love triangles that have powered this year's drama. She said: 'The word of the series has been 'triangle'. Every single person in there has been in a triangle at some point. It's the shape of the series!' Shaughna is no stranger to iconic villa moments, having famously uttered 'congrats, hun...' after her then-villa partner Callum Jones shocked fans and his fellow islanders by bringing Molly Smith back from Casa Amor. As for iconic moments this series? 'The whole situation with Harrison, Toni and Lauren. I was actually quite impressed with how the girls handled that,' Shaughna said. 'The girls have had their own issues this series and that could've turned really nasty and it didn't. What I liked personally to see is instead of turning against each other, they turned on Harrison which was just great.' Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Love Island series 12 has been the year of the 'triangle', according to ex-islander Shaughna Phillips | ITV Series 12 has become a fan-favourite installment of the ITV2 dating show not only for the drama, but for the lack of 'solid couples' in the villa with fans still unsure of a standout winning couple just days before the final airs. Shaughna gave her thoughts, and explained who has impressed her so far, saying: 'It is completely still up in the air. I think this will be the closest vote in years because there are no clear winners. I like that though, it's keeping us all hooked! 'I really like Yas. I think she is real, she doesn't mince her words, she doesn't look like she's putting an act on, she is just who she is. I also really like Cach. Cach is such a lovely guy. So either of their couples. 'But then the thing is, it's not just one person in a couple and I don't know whether Toni or Jamie have enough pull to swing it. I honestly have no idea! I genuinely have no idea who could win it, which is the sign of a good series.' While there has been little solid connections formed in the villa this year, there is one couple who have appeared to speed-run their Love Island relationship. Meg and Dejon have made it exclusive, with Dejon dropping the L-bomb in recent days. Despite taking big steps in their relationship, some fans remain unconvinced of their true connection following Dejon previous wandering eye. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Shaughna has also issued some advice to the islanders on making it 'exclusive' inside the villa, saying: 'I think the worst thing you can do in there is make it official as in 'boyfriend-girlfriend'. Because you have no idea what life is going to be like on the outside. Although you can come back out and you're all in on one person, you should definitely try and stay single until you are outside because the circumstances are just so, so different.' She added: 'You are only in control of yourself. The work opportunities for girls and boys when you come out are so different. Boys often get so many personal appearance opportunities and they're coming out, they're being bombarded with girls, drink, money. It's great, but it's not great if you're in a relationship. So I would stay single for as long as possible.' Love Island, which first aired as we know it in 2015, has faced criticism from some fans who labeled the show as tired and boring before the start of this year's series, but viewers have flooded back in to the show with an uptick in social media interest as drama kicked off in the famous villa. Shaughna said: 'I don't know another show on telly that is quite like it. And I know there's a conversation every single year that goes 'Oh is it not time for Love Island to take a break?'. But they pull in the viewers every single time, they hook us every single time. So no, I don't think it is time.' Love Island continues at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX from Sunday to Friday. The Series 12 final takes place at 9pm on Monday, August 4.
