
Higher Education dept. meddling with autonomy of Calicut varsity: KPCTA
This comes in the wake of the department's recent order asking the university to revoke the implementation of the policy that allowed students to choose minor courses from the major discipline they have already selected.
A release quoting KPCTA's regional committee said here on Thursday that the department was trying to interfere in the academic affairs of the university by asking it to withdraw the option. This was in violation of the various orders of the Supreme Court as well, the committee functionaries pointed out.

Kharge to address Congress workers' meeting today
Hyderabad All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Mallikarjun Kharge, who arrived in Hyderabad on Thursday, would address the heads of village units of the Congress in Telangana, which the party says is the biggest such meeting of the Congress president. He was received at the airport by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, AICC in-charge of TG Meenakshi Natarajan and TPCC president Mahesh Goud. During his address, Mr. Kharge is likely to focus on Congress party's 'Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan' programme, being held across the country.
