The future of New York's infield is pretty questionable at the moment. Lombard looks to be a potential star shortstop moving forward, as long as everything goes right.
It would be foolish for the Yankees to trade Lombard this season. The future is bright for the young shortstop, and the Yankees don't have much depth in the farm system behind him.
