ALBAWABA - Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron sue Candace Owens over defamation claims.
French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte Macron, sued right-wing podcaster Candace Owens in the US on Wednesday for defamation after she said Brigitte could be a man. The case has 22 counts.
A statement from the Macrons' lawyer, Tom Clare, says that the case filed in Delaware Superior Court says Owens has been running "a relentless year-long campaign of defamation against the Macrons."

The complaint says that in March, right-wing commentator Candace Owens brought up an absurd conspiracy theory again in a YouTube video called "Is France's First Lady a Man?"
Owens called the conspiracy idea "likely the biggest scandal in political history," and he talked about it a lot on X.

Owens has made many videos about Brigitte Macron since then for her almost 4.5 million YouTube fans. One of these is a series called "Becoming Brigitte," which is made up of several videos.
The lawsuit also says that she sold things that supported the story.
Tom Clare, the Macrons' lawyer, said on Wednesday that they had asked Owens to stop making the claim for about a year and only sued her as a "last resort" when she stopped.
According to the lawsuit, Owens was the first person to tell the US media and people around the world about these false claims. The couple is suing for punitive damages and says they have been hurt "substantially economically," which means they have lost business chances in the future.
Owens shared a screenshot of a story about the Macrons' lawsuit on Instagram on Wednesday, along with a picture of the couple and the words, "I will be coming for this wig today." 'Watch this space.'
Later, she made a video on YouTube in which she called the lawsuit "an obvious and desperate public relations strategy."

Brigitte Macron also sued two French women in 2022 for making similar claims. CNN station BFMTV says the women won an appeal this year after winning the first case. The case will now go to a higher court.
The statement says Owens was asked to retract her claims along with "incontrovertible evidence disproving her allegations and proving, among other things, that Mrs. Macron was born a woman named Brigitte Trogneux, that she is not a blood relative of President Macron," and that the Macrons are not being manipulated or blackmailed by unknown forces through a program linked to the CIA.
The official complaint said that Owens used this false statement to promote her own brand, get attention, and make money.

UK says ready to airdrop aid, evacuate injured children from Gaza

The United Kingdom announced Saturday its readiness to airdrop food aid into Gaza and evacuate children in urgent need of medical care, as part of growing international efforts to address the worsening humanitarian crisis in the besieged enclave. The announcement followed talks between British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and his French and German counterparts, Emmanuel Macron and Friedrich Merz, respectively. During the call, the leaders discussed Britain's plans to expand humanitarian support to Gaza and help evacuate wounded and ill children. A statement from the UK Prime Minister's Office said Britain will cooperate with partners, including Jordan, to carry out the airdrops and evacuations. The joint statement described the humanitarian situation in Gaza as "horrific" and emphasized the urgent need for comprehensive plans to transform any ceasefire into a lasting peace. The leaders also affirmed their commitment to working with regional and international actors to support a long-term resolution that enhances security in the region. The announcement comes one day after UN Secretary-General António Guterres sharply criticized the international community for failing to respond to the widespread famine in Gaza, calling it 'a moral outrage and a test of our collective conscience.'

London and Ottawa Reject Macron's Palestinian Statehood Initiative over U.S. Concerns - Jordan News

French President Emmanuel Macron has spearheaded a broad diplomatic initiative aimed at recognizing the State of Palestine, working closely with Saudi Arabia and attempting to bring the United Kingdom and Canada on board. اضافة اعلان However, according to a Reuters report citing three informed diplomats, both London and Ottawa declined to join the effort, citing fears of political friction with Washington. In response to the lack of consensus, Macron has decided to proceed unilaterally, with France set to formally recognize the State of Palestine during the upcoming United Nations General Assembly session in September. A French diplomat confirmed to Reuters that Paris is continuing to mobilize broader international support ahead of the UN meeting, aiming to build momentum for a collective recognition, despite international complexities and pressure from major global powers. Macron officially announced on July 24 that France will recognize Palestine as a sovereign state at the upcoming UN assembly. In reaction, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sharply condemned the French move. A statement from his office said: "Such a step rewards terrorism and risks creating another Iranian proxy, just as Gaza has become." The statement warned that under current conditions, a Palestinian state would be "a launching pad for the destruction of Israel."

Confusion in Tel Aviv over Trump's stance on Hamas and Gaza

ALBAWABA - Reports say that U.S. President Donald Trump's administration is rethinking how it handles the war in Gaza after the most recent peace talks failed and anger from around the world grew. A story from Axios on Saturday said that sources inside the administration confirm that Trump's national security team is actively working to change its policy on Gaza. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke to a group of hostage families at the State Department on Friday. He was clearly angry. He is said to have said, "We need to seriously rethink everything," which could mean that Washington will change its mind. A person who was in the meeting told Axios that Rubio asked many times to "reevaluate the strategy" and "give the president new options." Humanitarian Crisis and Isolation Around the World Trump has been president for six months, but he hasn't done much to end the fighting in Gaza. The humanitarian situation has gotten a lot worse, attempts to end the fighting have been halted, and the US and Israel are becoming more and more diplomatically isolated. #عاجل: أكسيوس : ترامب يعيد تقييم استراتيجية #غزة بعد ستة أشهر من الفشل: المفاوضات تنهار والأزمة الإنسانية تتفاقم July 26, 2025 Axios said that the failure of the most recent round of peace talks could be a turning point in how the government handles the conflict. Some government leaders want to change the way the U.S. is involved, but it's still not clear if the president will change his mind. Trump Sends Mixed Messages Axios cites Israeli sources who say that people in Tel Aviv aren't sure if Trump's calls to "eliminate Hamas" are a way to start talks or if they mean that Trump supports Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's plans for more bold military action. Even though Trump is said to be upset about how many Palestinians are being killed, he has not yet put pressure on Netanyahu to stop operations. Instead, Trump is said to have told Netanyahu to "do what you have to do in Gaza" most of the time and even pushed for stronger military action against Hamas in some cases. Both American and Israeli officials aren't sure what the administration's plan is for ending the conflict or if a change in strategy will happen in time to change the course of the war.
