Yango Ads has introduced new monetisation opportunities for mobile app publishers in the region.
With enhanced access to global demand, smarter ad formats, and features designed to drive deeper user engagement, the company's latest offering empowers developers to significantly increase in-app revenue and improve ad performance. These advancements are delivered through an updated software development kit (SDK), introducing smarter ad formats and expanded access to global demand.
The intention is to help developers earn more without interrupting the user experience. Yango Ads claims the the new interactive formats are already delivering up to 11 per cent higher engagement, while AI-powered video previews have increased click-through rates by up to 4 per cent.
'Developers face increasing challenges to grow revenue while maintaining a seamless user experience,' said Evgenii Pavlov, General Manager at Yango Ads MEA. 'Our latest updates make it easier than ever for developers to access premium ad demand and maximise the value of every user interaction.'
Ad Network by Yango Ads also supports integration with over 50 DSPs, including advertisers in high-value markets like the U.S. and South Korea, opening up stronger competition for ad placements and better monetisation opportunities.
Additional upgrades to banner and horizontal video layouts are helping developers increase visibility and interaction, generating up to 5 per cent more revenue. The SDK has also been optimised for speed and ease of integration, with a lighter build that reduces app load times and ensures smoother ad rendering. It includes improved banner auto-refresh logic, support for SKAdNetwork attribution on iOS, and adherence to app-ads.txt standards for added transparency and compliance.
'These enhancements demonstrate our commitment to providing powerful yet easy-to-integrate tools that deliver meaningful business results,' said Pavlov.
The timing of the release aligns with significant growth in the region's app economy. According to Yango Ads, consumers in the UAE will spend over $500m on mobile apps in 2025. MENA advertisers are also expected to increase in-app ad spend by more than 14 per cent year-on-year.
With smartphone penetration in the UAE projected to surpass 97 per cent by 2029, mobile-first monetisation strategies are becoming a top priority for app developers and publishers.
These enhancements are part of Yango Ads' broader strategy to deliver complete monetisation solutions that combine AI-powered formats, performance marketing, and actionable audience insights. With the MENA mobile advertising market expected to reach $17.36bn by 2029, Yango Ads claims it remains focused on helping developers scale sustainably through smarter advertising technology.

AppsFlyer Reports Decline in UA Spend Despite Mobile Growth

Home » Smart Sectors » Retail » AppsFlyer Reports Decline in UA Spend Despite Mobile Growth AppsFlyer has revealed the UAE findings of its annual State of eCommerce Mobile Marketing report. The data highlights how Chinese eCommerce apps continue to dominate user acquisition (UA) spending in one of the world's top mobile-first economies. In the first half of 2025, Chinese apps accounted for 73% of all UA spend in the UAE. France followed with 13%, and India with 8%, driven by focused campaigns and expat-centric strategies. The report pointed to growing competition from overseas brands. As a result, local eCommerce retailers saw their UA investments shrink. This trend reflects budget reallocations, rising pressure from international players, and market consolidation. AppsFlyer experts noted that local brands still have growth opportunities. However, success will require clear strategies and performance-driven, localised campaigns. Sue Azari, Industry Lead eCommerce at AppsFlyer, explained that Chinese apps have long targeted markets outside China. She said the UAE is a natural fit due to its premium audience and digital maturity. French apps are focusing on iOS users, while Indian advertisers likely see strong potential in the UAE's South Asian expat population. AppsFlyer also reported strong growth for iOS in the UAE. While Android app installs are projected to grow 713% since 2017, iOS installs are expected to rise by 1383% over the same period. Year-on-year, iOS installs are forecast to more than double in 2025. At the same time, iOS fraud rates dropped 63% year-on-year in H1 2025. Android's fraud rate, however, rose 234% in the same period. This indicates iOS is becoming a safer and more attractive platform for marketers, despite Android's scale. The report also revealed a decline in overall UA spending. In H1 2025, Android UA spend fell 21% compared to the same period in 2024. iOS spend declined only 6%, showing more resilience. Yet, the period also saw record-high remarketing investments. Q1 2025 remarketing spend tripled compared to Q1 2024 Ramadan and retail events played a major role in early-year performance Azari encouraged marketers to align campaigns with seasonal peaks like Ramadan and build remarketing strategies to sustain engagement afterward. She also noted that declining Android UA spend may offer cost-effective inventory for savvy brands. AppsFlyer concluded that the UAE remains a competitive market for mobile commerce. Advertisers who balance premium iOS strategies with cost-effective Android engagement and adapt budgets to seasonal trends are best positioned for success.

WFP Partners With Careem to Support Gaza Food Relief

Home » Tech Value Chain » E-commerce » WFP Partners With Careem to Support Gaza Food Relief The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) has announced a new partnership with Careem, a multi-service app in the Middle East, to launch a donation campaign across Jordan and the United Arab Emirates. The campaign is facilitated through WFP's award-winning ShareTheMeal app and Careem's in-app donation feature, 'Right Click.' It allows users in both countries to support WFP's emergency food assistance efforts in Gaza and the West Bank directly from the Careem app. WFP revealed that it continues to deliver life-saving food aid in Gaza despite severe access limitations, rising insecurity, and growing humanitarian needs. A recent assessment indicated that nearly one in three people are going days without food. Since May 21, WFP teams have dispatched dozens of aid convoys, with over 1,200 trucks carrying 18,247 metric tons of food into Gaza. Through the partnership: Donations help provide wheat flour, hot meals, and nutrition supplements. WFP aims to reach over 1.5 million people in Gaza and the West Bank this year. Stephen Anderson, Director of the WFP UAE Office and Representative to the GCC Region, welcomed the partnership, stating it empowers people in Jordan and the UAE to make a direct impact. He emphasized the importance of such contributions in one of WFP's toughest operations. Careem's CEO and co-founder, Mudassir Sheikha, also highlighted the urgency of the crisis and the company's role in enabling customers to respond with immediate action. In Gaza, food aid has become the only viable option for survival, with flour prices increasing up to 3,000 times compared to pre-war levels. Cooking fuel is nearly unavailable. WFP has already pre-positioned over 116,000 metric tons of food assistance outside Gaza, enough to feed the entire population for two months. Careem reported that in 2025 alone, its users have donated over $200,000 through the app to causes such as emergency relief and education support. WFP confirmed the donation campaign is now live on the Careem app in Jordan and the UAE. Users can donate by downloading the latest version of the app on iOS or Android.
