Beloved Netflix show ending after 10 seasons as shooting begins on final episodes
A reboot of the 2000s cult classic Bravo series Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, the new version with the shorter title bowed in 2018.
In contrast to the irreverent and acerbic tone of the original series, the revamped Netflix version was noted for its sugary, feel-good content.
Each episode was about the main cast of gay professionals - the 'Fab Five' - helping guest-stars improve their lives in various ways, including fashion, grooming and food.
In a post shared this Wednesday, Netflix revealed on X, formerly Twitter, that the show will end after its next season, which has now begun filming.
The tweet featured a photo of the current 'Fab Five,' comprised of Jonathan van Ness, Antoni Porowski, Tan France, Karamo Brown and Jeremiah Brent.
Jeremiah joined the series in season nine as the interior design expert, replacing Bobby Berk, who occupied the position for the first eight seasons.
The rest of the five have been on the show throughout its Netflix run, each with his own area of expertise - grooming for Jonathan, food and wine for Antoni, culture and lifestyle for Karamo and fashion for Tan.
Each season is centered on a particular American city, with past examples including Atlanta, Las Vegas, New Orleans, Austin, Kansas City and Philadelphia.
In the tweet announcing the final season, the cast were pictured in front of the Lincoln Memorial, indicating the setting will be Washington, DC.
As news spread that the show was coming to an end, Tan France fired up his Instagram page to share his feelings on the development.
'First day of the FINAL season of Queer Eye,' wrote the UK-born reality star Instagram, alongside the promotional picture of the cast in the US capital.
'It's been a long, beautiful journey we've been on, and I truly appreciate all of the love and support for this our little show, that changed my life in ways I never thought possible,' added the fashion plate.
'As we begin our farewell season here on D.C I simply want to say thank you! Thank you!!!!!' he concluded to his 3.7 million-strong following.
Jeremiah shared the Netflix announcement to his own Insta Stories, conveying the news to his own more than one million followers.
Jonathan posted the group shot of the Fab Five at the Lincoln Memorial, plus a solo of himself by the Washington Monument, writing: 'Season 10, the final season.'
Meanwhile Antoni had dropped a hint about their filming location the previous day, posting an Insta Stories photo of the Washington Monument.
Bobby announced departure exit from the show in November 2023, explaining that he had decided not to renew his contract because he had made other commitments.
Rumors swirled that he had feuded with Tan, to the point Bobby gave an interview to 'extinguish some of the speculation' around the issue.
'I want people to know that Tan and I - we will be fine,' he insisted in a Vanity Fair interview that ran in January 2024, two months after he went public with his exit.
He revealed that when his contract - and those of his castmates - expired after eight seasons, he believed the show was coming to an end altogether.
As they wrapped filming season eight in 2022, 'the Fab Five and the crew, we all stood there, and we took pictures and cried,' he said.
'We thought we were done. Mentally and emotionally, I thought we all moved on. I know I did, and I started planning other things.'
He claimed other Queer Eyes stars were also weighing other career options at that time, saying: 'We'd just assumed that the show wouldn't come back if we all didn't come back. I was like, I'm not going to be having FOMO 'cause the show is not going to happen. I had become at peace with it.'
However the rest of the Fab Five ultimately decided to stay - thanks to conversations about which Bobby did not provide details - and 'with only one of us not coming back, Netflix felt [it] could recast one person,' he stated.
He stuck to his own decision to leave, explaining: 'All the plans that I had made when I thought we weren't coming back, I just wasn't willing to change those. I would have had to pump the brakes on multiple other projects that are already in process. We had mentally just prepared ourselves to move on - that's why I left.'
As for the alleged feud, Bobby confessed that he 'had a moment' with Tan, causing him to temporarily unfollow the fashion expert on Instagram.
'There was a situation, and that's between Tan and I, and it has nothing to do with the show. It was something personal that had been brewing - and nothing romantic, just to clarify that,' the former reality star explained.
'Should I have unfollowed Tan? No. Maybe I should have just muted him. But that day, I was angry, and that's the end of it. We became like siblings - and siblings are always going to fight,' Bobby insisted.
When they attended the Emmys, Bobby and Tan 'both embraced each other, and we both said congratulations' and the former said he was able to 'foresee in six months or a year, Tan and I at each other's house being good.'
Two months after Bobby's interview went public, Tan found himself staunchly denying allegations that he and Antoni had 'conspired' to have Bobby replaced with Jeremiah - claims leveled in an explosive Rolling Stone article.

The celebrity credits Pvolve with making her 'stronger than ever,' and encourages others to find a workout they love regardless of their fitness ability or age. Speaking about the campaign, she said: 'Moving my body has always been important to me, and as we now know from the data, strength training is of the utmost importance to staying healthy and active as we age. 'And with the Pvolve Method, we can become stronger than ever.' The Pvolve Method focuses on functional fitness with all three planes of motion - side-to-side, front-to-back, and rotational. Julie Cartwright, President of Pvolve, said: 'Our method is designed to address the unique needs of women, who often face hormonal changes and life transitions that require special consideration in fitness, with an emphasis on building lasting strength. 'Historically, many workouts have been built around men's physiology, with women expected to adapt. 'So, we decided to take a different approach, though the workout is equally effective for men.' It comes after talked to the Friends star's personal trainer Dani Coleman about how she maintains her lithe shape - and it shockingly does not involve tons of painful 'crunches.' 'I train Jen through all three of Pvolve's signature formats: Strength & Sculpt, Sculpt & Burn, and Progressive Weight Training,' Dani shared with 'We utilise unique resistance equipment and heavier weights to build overall mobility, stability, cardiovascular health, and strength. Each session begins with a dynamic warm-up, followed by strength training and small cardio bursts. 'Within our sessions, we place a heavy focus on form to help prevent injury and conclude each session with a proper cool-down.' Jennifer works out every day. 'Some days it's a full hour, other times it's a quicker session. We focus on creating a rhythm that feels sustainable and adjust to meet the demands of her busy schedule,' said the workout enthusiast. Turns out the Emmy winning ex-wife of Brad Pitt is a delight to train. 'Working with Jen has been a dream come true,' Dani told 'Between our workouts, playlists, and of course the occasional cameos by her pups during our sessions, it's always a good time training together.' And the size two 56-year-old Jennifer - who has been seen vacationing with a hypnotist this month in photos obtained by - puts in the hours. 'She always shows up ready to work. Her consistency, discipline, and strength are truly inspiring to witness firsthand,' said Coleman. The story behind Jennifer's Core Collection is not what one would expect. 'Most times when people think about training their 'core,' they think of endless crunches on a mat. However, at Pvolve, we train your core 360 and functionally. In other words, we cover every part of your core, not just your abdominals. 'We also train you to engage your core in the daily movement patterns you perform. 'In these workouts, you will build core strength that sets you up for success, ranging from completing daily tasks to increasing your performance. 'The workouts are efficient, effective, and suitable for all levels. You can check out Jen's Core Collection to experience some of our favorite exercises we do together.' And Coleman also named Aniston's favorite workout. 'Pvolve. Whether we're training together or she's on the go, Pvolve's omnichannel approach keeps her moving, wherever she is. 'In fact, you can catch me on demand, in our live virtual studio, or at our West Hollywood, California studio, and experience this incredible workout firsthand with me.'
