Ariana Grande Shares a ‘Perfect Witch' Tribute to Her Late Nonna
On Saturday, Ariana Grande shared a carousel of pictures from her recent life, with several nods to her grandmother, Marjorie Grande, known by the family as 'Nonna.' The singer announced her Nonna's passing at the age of 99 in late June.
In her new post, she shared photos with her grandmother when she was a young girl, a shot of her brother, Frankie Grande, wearing a shirt emblazoned with 'Nonna' in rhinestone lettering, a video of her mother, Joan Grande, receiving a kiss from Marjorie, and a quote from her grandmother of particular significance.
Over a shot of the moon out in a bright sky, Ariana wrote the question, 'Are you a good witch or a bad witch?'
Underneath, she shared her grandmother's response, in which she said, 'I'm a perfect witch.'
Over the last several years, Ariana has been filming the movie adaptation of the hit Broadway musical, Wicked, in which she plays Glinda the Good Witch. The conversation she shared seems to imply she and her Nonna had obviously discussed the themes of the film together.
The singer shared her mother's announcement of Marjorie's passing in her Instagram Stories, which read, 'We are devastated to share that the beloved matriarch of our family has passed away. Marjorie (Nonna) Grande passed peacefully in her home and was surrounded by her family and loved ones for every moment of her last few weeks.'
She later shared a black-and-white photo of Marjorie on her wedding day, writing in the caption, 'Forever.'
Marjorie made an appearance on Ariana's most recent album, Eternal Sunshine, vocalizing on 'Ordinary Things.'
'And as I told her, never go to bed without kissin' goodnight / That's the worst thing to do,' Marjorie can be heard saying on the track. 'Don't ever, ever do that / And if you can't, and if you don't feel comfortable doing it / You're in the wrong place, get out.'

Jennifer Love Hewitt Rocks Ginger Tresses at' 'the' I Know What You Did Last Summer 'Premiere' '
Jennifer Love Hewitt shows off her stunning red carpet look at the I Know What You Did Last Summer premiere in Los Angeles on Monday, July 14 The actress, who is typically a brunette, rocked a bold ginger color Hewitt reprises her role as Julie James and exclusively told PEOPLE in April that she gives her stamp of approval on the character's evolution in the 2025 sequelThe '90s are back! Jennifer Love Hewitt was unmissable in all-black at the I Know What You Did Last Summer premiere at the United Theater on Broadway in Los Angeles on Monday, July 14. The actress, 46, wore an ankle-length, form-fitting Rachel Gilbert Embellished dress with 3-D jeweled beading for a completely eye-catching look. Her matching black pumps featured textured silver accents. And while Hewitt's character may be a brunette bombshell, the IKWYDLS alum rocked ginger-toned tresses on the red carpet with a smokey eye for her glam. She wore multiple rings on each hand, with one of her wrists showing off mixed-metal bracelets. The long-awaited sequel, which picks up after the events of 1998's I Still Know What You Did Last Summer and the 1997 original installment with the same name, sees the return of Hewitt's good-girl character, Julie James, who can't seem to escape her troubled past. The new movie, which opens in theaters on Friday, July 18, follows five friends who "inadvertently cause a deadly car accident" before "cover[ing] up their involvement and mak[ing] a pact to keep it a secret rather than face the consequences," according to Sony Pictures. However, "a year later, their past comes back to haunt them and they're forced to confront a horrifying truth: someone knows what they did last summer…and is hell-bent on revenge. As one by one the friends are stalked by a killer, they discover this has happened before, and they turn to two survivors of the legendary Southport Massacre of 1997 for help." The 2025 premiere comes 28 years after Hewitt walked the red carpet on Oct. 8, 1997, for the Hollywood premiere of I Know What You Did Last Summer at the GCC Galaxy Theatre. There, the film's final girl standing paired a '90s grunge makeup look with a sleek black and floral strapless mini dress, strappy black sandals and a slicked-back updo. While Hewitt was all smiles on the red carpet on Monday, the actress did have some reservations going into filming the new installment in the slasher franchise. 'I had total anxiety for 48 hours before [filming] because I was like, 'Can I do this? Am I going to pull this off?' It's a lot of pressure," Hewitt exclusively told PEOPLE in April. Still, the Criminal Minds star said she gave her "stamp of approval" on how her character has evolved, 28 years after the events of the first film. The 9-1-1 actress added that 'as a female in Hollywood, in your 40s, sometimes you can feel forgotten about.' She felt 'really touched emotionally and honored that Sony would have me back, that the franchise would have me back, that Jen wanted me back, and that the audience wanted me back. It really felt like an honor. Stepping into her shoes again was really fun." Hewitt also reunited on-screen with costar Freddie Prinze Jr., 49, who returned in the new sequel as Ray Bronson. is now available in the Apple App Store! These fresh faces include Chase Sui Wonders (The Studio), Madelyn Cline (Outer Banks), Sarah Pidgeon (The Wilds), Jonah Hauer-King (The Little Mermaid) and Tyriq Withers (Him). While speaking with PEOPLE, Hewitt said the new cast is 'phenomenal' and that the experience felt like passing the baton. 'It's for them to make it their own and for me to stand by like a proud mom and say, 'It's yours now, take it and run and enjoy.' ' Even though it's been nearly 30 years, the film will still include plenty of nostalgic callbacks and Easter eggs from the '90s. The Golden Globe nominee teased in April, 'There's lots of twists and turns. I don't think people are going to expect anything that's coming. It's a really fun ride." ‘Wicked' TV Special Featuring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo Sets Air Date
NBC will air a live Wicked special on Nov. 6. The two-hour special will be taped at Los Angeles' Dolby Theater and will feature the film's stars, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, as well as special guests, performing songs from the first movie. As the special is set to arrive two weeks before the premiere of sequel Wicked: For Good it's only natural to assume the actors will also showcase new songs. A press release from NBCUniversal says to expect 'maybe, just maybe, a little bit from the upcoming film.' More from Rolling Stone Frankie Grande Teases First-Ever Collaboration With Sister Ariana Grande Brandy and Monica Confirm Plans to Collaborate on New Music Ariana Grande's Nonna Marjorie Dead at 99 The program, originally announced in May, will be broadcast live at 8 p.m. on Nov. 6. It will then stream on Peacock beginning on Nov. 7. Wicked: For Good is due to hit theaters on Nov. 21. The film will pick up immediately after the events of the last year's blockbuster smash, which concluded with Erivo's rendition of 'Defying Gravity.' While 'Defying Gravity' is arguably the signature song from the original Wicked musical, For Good will feature plenty of Act Two show-stoppers, including the Elphaba and Glinda duet that gives the sequel its name. Other famous songs include Elphaba's 'No Good Deed' and Elphaba and Fiyero's duet 'As Long as You're Mine.' For Good will also feature two new songs for Glinda and Elphaba, with Grande and Erivo both working alongside the musical's original composer Stephen Schwartz. In an interview with Variety last year, Erivo called her tune 'so special to me,' adding, 'When we filmed it, the entire crew was in tears. I hope audiences are ready — it's a song that speaks to the heart of who Elphaba is.' In an interview earlier this year, Grande said Glinda's new song coincides with a 'pivotal moment' in her journey. 'It shows a side of her we've never seen before. In the stage show, this transformation happens offstage. But in the movie, we get to see her make the decision that defines who she is. It's a privilege to sing this song and be the first Glinda to bring it to life.' 'This album holds pieces of me I've never shared before, parts that were broken, parts that healed, and parts that still ache a little,' he shared in a statement ahead of the LP's release. 'It's scary and beautiful to let it all go into the world this week, but more than anything, I feel grateful. Grateful for every moment that brought me here, for everyone who believed in me, who danced beside me in the dark and the light, and for the chance to remind people they're never alone, even at rock bottom.'
