‘Expectation' is that Chelsea forward will leave

Yahoo12 hours ago
There is a 'growing expectation' that Nicolas Jackson will leave Chelsea before the end of the summer transfer window.
Chelsea will consider suitable offers for the forward following summer deals for Liam Delap and Joao Pedro. The addition of the duo has cast doubt on Jackson's role in the side and teams in the Premier League and Europe are monitoring his situation.
Manchester United and Newcastle United have kept an eye on Jackson, though both are prioritising a move for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko. The former could emerge as an alternative to whoever loses out in the chase for the Slovenian striker.
Aston Villa have also been mentioned as a potential destination, with head coach Unai Emery having worked with the player at former club Villarreal.
Chelsea's high asking price complicates matters but The Athletic are reporting that there is a 'growing expectation' that the 24-year-old will depart before the end of the window.
He has scored 30 goals in 81 games across two seasons at Chelsea, while his physical profile and experience of England has led to suitors among the Blues' Premier League rivals. 'Developments' on Jackson's future are expected in the coming days.
Chelsea are working to reduce the numbers in their squad before the start of the Premier League season.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Lesley Ugochukwu and Carney Chukwuemeka are all in talks over permanent exits for a combined sum of around £65m.
That fee is set to be invested in a deal for RB Leipzig midfielder Xavi Simons, while interest also remains in Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho.

Update On Tottenham Hotspur And Their Pursuit Of This Atletico Madrid Ace: Good Option For Frank?

In a recent report, Fichajes offered an update on Tottenham Hotspur and their pursuit of Atletico Madrid ace Conor Gallagher this summer. It is understood that Spurs are prepared to launch a €50m move to sign the English midfielder this summer. Gallagher's Decent Form In La Liga The 25-year-old enjoyed a good campaign at the Wanda Metropolitano recently after he produced a series of eye-catching displays at the heart of Diego Simeone's midfield. Gallagher found the back of the net four times and earned six assists in 50 appearances for Atletico Madrid last season in all competitions. The English talent offered decent protection for his teammates at the back as he made 45 tackles, 23 blocks and 20 interceptions in La Liga. He was even tidy when distributing possession from midfield, based on his pass completion rate of 85% in the top tier of Spanish football (stats via Gallagher's current contract at the Spanish club will run out in the summer of 2029. Thus, Spurs would have to make a convincing offer if they want to get a deal done for him. (Photo by Florencia) Is Gallagher A Good Option For Tottenham Hotspur Boss Thomas Frank? Gallagher is a solid tackler of the ball and can sense the danger well to make some important interceptions for his team at the centre of the park. He doesn't mind putting his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the front foot and is a good passer of the ball as well. The English talent can even chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals from midfield. He has got plenty of experience in the Premier League and is well-equipped to make an immediate impact at the North London club. Gallagher would bring more energy and dynamism to Tottenham boss Thomas Frank's midfield. He is more than capable of securing a regular first-team spot at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next season. At 25, Gallagher has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a good option for Spurs to consider in this transfer window. Therefore, it makes sense for Frank to try everything in his power to lure him to North London ahead of the new Premier League campaign.

Rennes sign Przemyslaw Frankowski on loan from Galatasaray

Rennes have signed Przemyslaw Frankowski (30) on loan from Turkish Süper Lig giants Galatasaray, both clubs have announced. The deal includes an option to make Frankowski's move permanent. Rennes were in the market for a right-sided fullback after parting ways with Academy product Lorenz Assignon, who joined Stuttgart earlier in the summer. Frankowski is therefore back in Ligue 1 only six months after leaving Lens for Galatasaray. The Pole is the third summer signing for Rennes, after Valentin Rongier and Quentin Merlin. Furthermore, the 30-year-old wing-back is the third former Lens player signed by Rennes president Arnaud Pouille, the former RC Lens CEO, after Brice Samba and Seko Fofana, who joined Brittany during the winter transfer window. We've already seen Hugo Ekitike join to help replace Darwin Nunez when he moves on and Diogo Jota's passing has sadly meant that another striker could join - Alexander Isak is highly favoured. Luis Diaz's move to Bayern Munich might result in Malick Fofana at Lyon being approached, although Cody Gakpo will be given an even bigger role in his absence and Rio Ngumoha's extraordinary performances throughout pre-season have given the Englishman hopes of some senior minutes. Since it's likely that Chiesa will leave, someone has already been identified as his replacement. Liverpool already have Chiesa's replacement Playing as Mohamed Salah's understudy was always going to be a difficult job. At times, you feel there might be an opportunity to play a substantial role in the team, but if you have a season where the Egyptian delivers 57 goal contributions, then you might feel shut-out on the sidelines. Slot didn't really know what to do with Chiesa last season and regular minutes are going to be essential if he has plans of making Italy's World Cup squad next summer. A move is understandable. Now that Salah has signed a new two-year deal with the club, you would expect him to have another main role in the team this season, which would be a spanner in the Italian's plans. But if you have a developing young player as his understudy at right-wing, then things start to make more sense. The 33-year-old Egyptian will need to be replaced eventually as he starts to slow down towards the end of his career, and having his successor develop alongside him would be a beneficial move. As such, it seems logical for Ben Doak to be promoted to the first team after a number of loan moves. He spent last season on loan with Middlesbrough in the Championship and he played a particularly extensive role, making featuring for 1787 minutes and delivering three goals and seven assists. In addition, he was heavily reported to have put most of the defenders he faced on skids, dribbling past them with relative ease, even despite him being marked by three opposition players at times. At Anfield on Monday afternoon, when the Reds played Athletic Bilbao in a pre-season friendly, he scored from a tight angle and delivered a pin-point ball into Ngumoha to assist the second goal.
