Burnley in transfer tussle with Premier League rivals Sunderland to sign Wolves ace Johnstone
Wolves would let the keeper, 32, go on loan or sell him for £8million.

Johnstone knows chances are limited at Molineux with Jose Sa their undisputed No 1.
Burnley signed stopper Max Weiss, 21, from German second tier side Karlsruher last month.
But should Johnstone sign for the Clarets, he can expect to be above him in the pecking order.
Burnley need a new No.1 as Trafford is on his way back to Manchester City for £27m.
He came through the ranks at the Etihad before moving to Turf Moor in 2023 in a £19m deal.
Trafford, who is set to undergo a medical in the coming days, will reportedly battle Ederson to be first choice at City this season.
Current back-up Stefan Ortega has been tipped to leave.
Meanwhile, Sunderland are also chasing £12m-rated keeper Dmytro Riznyk from Shakhtar Donetsk as an alternative to Johnstone.

Johnstone made just seven Premier League appearances for Wolves last season.
The experienced keeper was on the books of Manchester United as a teenager and has gone on to play for the likes of Aston Villa, West Brom and Crystal Palace.

July 29 (Reuters) - Goalkeeper James Trafford has returned to Manchester City on a five-year contract after helping Burnley earn a promotion back to the Premier League with the fewest goals conceded in the Championship last season, City said on Tuesday. Englishman Trafford, who won the golden glove with 29 clean sheets in the Championship last season, has re-joined the club where he spent eight years as a youth player for 27 million pounds ($36 million), English media reports said. 'Rejoining City is such special and proud moment both for me and my family. I always dreamed that one day I would be able to come back to Manchester City," Trafford said in a statement shared by City. 'This is the place I call home – it's a truly special football club with fantastic people who make it such a unique place to work and play." Trafford played on loan at third-tier sides Accrington Stanley and Bolton Wanderers before making a permanent move to Burnley in 2023, where he played his first full season in the Premier League, making 28 appearances as the club was relegated. But the six-foot-six keeper returned to form in the Championship last season, with Burnley conceding only 16 goals in the campaign, 14 fewer than champions Leeds United. Trafford has signed a five-year contract with the side he left for Burnley in 2023 after City activated a £27million buy-back clause.
