'To start with, I am not into either gods or devotees, and because of that, I would never ever watch a film which deals with such subject matter… I saw the original film four times in my college days, but I saw it for the hero, heroine, and songs—not for the subject. As Thinnadu, you didn't just act, but you embodied a temple of faith like a high priest, wielding a ferocity that left me breathless,' Ram wrote.
