Denim Tears Debuts 5th Quarter Collection
Summary Denim Tearsis set to release a new collection titled 5th Quarter, inspired by the deep cultural connection between Black Americans and the game of basketball. Tremaine Emory'svision for the collection centers on the often-unspoken, rarely-televised period in an athlete's life — where they grapple with identity their achievement while facing what lies beyond the court. 5th Quarter shines a light on this nuanced space, capturing the emotional and cultural weight of the sport. The collection pays tribute to figures like Rafer 'Skip 2 My Lou' Alston and legendary coach John Thompson Jr., honoring their impact both on and off the court. Their legacies are woven directly into the garments — from hoodies and sweatpants detailed with African Mudcloth patterns to accessories like reimagined game towels and a Basketball Net Necklace. Visually, the collection embraces a minimalist aesthetic, but is layered with thoughtful design cues that speak to its deeper message. One standout ensemble pairs a Denim Tears jersey with crisp white basketball shorts, detailed with mudcloth-inspired patterns running along the side seams and waistline. The look is styled with a tailored khaki dress suit, cinched at the waist by a belt crafted in the traditional African mudcloth motif — blending athletic heritage with cultural symbolism. On the back of the jersey, the name 'THOMPSON' is emblazoned in bold tribute to John Thompson Jr., the first Black coach to win an NCAA championship . From headwear and outerwear to accessories and athletic silhouettes, every piece in the 5th Quarter collection speaks to a greater narrative. While an early preview pop-up was held at Dover Street Market Paris on June 28 and June 29, the full collection will be available online July 4th at theDenim Tears websiteand in-store at Africa Diaspora Goods in New York City.

Milwaukee Bucks Orchestrate Complicated Deal to Steal Myles Turner From Indiana Pacers
Milwaukee Bucks Orchestrate Complicated Deal to Steal Myles Turner From Indiana Pacers originally appeared on Athlon Sports. On Tuesday, the Indiana Pacers lost their longest-tenured player, Myles Turner. He agreed to a four-year, $107 million deal with the Milwaukee Bucks, paying him an average of $26.7 million a year, slightly more than the Pacers were willing to offer him. Advertisement With that, the Pacers' title window seems closed, at least until Tyrese Haliburton can return from his torn Achilles, and the Bucks are well on their way to competing in a weak Eastern Conference. In order to pair Turner with Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Bucks waived Damian Lillard, stretching out the remaining season of his contract over five years. Turner was expected to re-sign with the Pacers, although the team's unwillingness to enter the luxury tax for the first time since 2005 ended up ensuring that they did not offer him a competitive offer. As a result, Turner stays in the East, heads to a rival, and will compete for a title. Advertisement The Bucks still need to find a point guard, but they successfully paired Giannis with a floor-spacing center and are hoping to replicate the success he found with Brook Lopez. Turner is an excellent shooter and rim protector, and Giannis will be able to guard any position while Turner anchors the paint. The Pacers, meanwhile, now don't have a starting-caliber center on the roster. Deandre Ayton was bought out by the Portland Trail Blazers and is a free agent, and in a desperate move, Indiana could target him despite his well-documented lack of effort throughout his career. Indiana Pacers Lose Out on Free Agency Target to Los Angeles Lakers
Indiana Pacers Lose Out on Free Agency Target to Los Angeles Lakers originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Indiana Pacers, after making the NBA Finals, seem destined for a down year. First, Tyrese Haliburton tore his Achilles and will be sidelined for all of next season. After that, they failed to re-sign veteran center Myles Turner, who, after ten seasons, is heading to the Milwaukee Bucks. Advertisement With Turner gone, the Pacers pivoted to former first overall pick Deandre Ayton, who was recently bought out by the Portland Trail Blazers. Ayton reportedly narrowed it down to Indiana or the Los Angeles Lakers, and on Wednesday, he made it official: he will be a Laker. Honestly, it's hard to blame him. Aside from appearing in the 2021 NBA Finals with the Phoenix Suns, Ayton has not played much winning basketball in the NBA. Even with him on the roster, the Pacers would likely struggle to get out of the first round. With the Lakers, led by Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves, and LeBron James, Ayton can once again compete for a title. Advertisement While there were questions about his motor and mentality, likely leading to his departure from Portland, he is a double-double machine and is a reliable starting center in the NBA, and has been since his rookie season. The Lakers missed out on Clint Capela and Brook Lopez, and with the Blazers paying part of his salary, were able to make a competitive offer. Indiana, meanwhile, has long made it clear that it will not pay the luxury tax, and the parting of ways with Turner further proves its reluctance to spend. While the Lakers hunt for their 18th banner, the Pacers, after coming so close, will miss out again. Check out the All Pacers homepage for more news, analysis, and must-read articles.
