Bills' Joey Bosa gives positive injury update
Bosa, 30, came to Buffalo after a few injury filled years with the Los Angeles Chargers. A calf injury happened early during his first season in Buffalo's minicamp.
Even so, Bosa gave himself a clean bill of heath during Bills training camp.
"I feel great," Bosa said. Last year I felt great, but this year I feel tip top."
Following the Bills' decision to release Von Miller, Bosa was signed to provide the veteran presence on Buffalo's defensive line. The Bills are hoping Bosa can re-gain his health and Pro Bowl status.
From the outside looking in, head coach Sean McDermott gave a positive update on Bosa from training camp as well.
"Couldn't be more happy with the work that he's put in to come back healthy and ready to go," McDermott said.

Bears CB Jaylon Johnson indicates he's seeking another contract extension
Chicago Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson has established himself as one of the best in the NFL, which earned him a contract extension last offseason. But with cornerbacks resetting the market, including most recently with Sauce Gardner's deal, Johnson is eager to open up negotiations about another extension. Johnson inked a four-year, $110 million contract extension back in March 2024, which continues to be one of the most affordable in the league given the talent and contributions from Johnson at a premier position. During a recent appearance on "The Rich Eisen Show," Johnson indicated he wants to discuss another extension as cornerbacks continue to rack up big pay days. "Just seeing a lot of the other corners getting paid — I almost feel like we might have another discussion coming up here soon," Johnson said. "The market is moving, the market is moving. As long as I just keep being myself, keep playing at a high level, definitely going to have to be some more conversations coming up soon and really keep it long term. So, I'm looking forward to that." It certainly feels like the Bears are getting a steal with Johnson at $19 million per year, and there's no doubt that he deserves to be paid like a top cornerback. But Johnson just signed an extension last offseason, so this feels more like it's a discussion to happen next offseason. Despite Chicago's disappointing and frustrating 2024 season, Johnson remained one of the league's best cornerbacks with three takeaways (two interceptions, one forced fumble), eight pass breakups and recorded a career-high in tackles (53) and tackles for loss (7) in 17 games while earning his second straight Pro Bowl nod. Johnson was placed on the Non-Football Injury list to start training camp, and it's unclear whether he'll be cleared in time for the Bears' first practice on Wednesday. But there's little doubt that he'll once again serve as a cornerstone in new defensive coordinator Dennis Allen's defense. Verse Has Strong Name for Rams Legend
Verse Has Strong Name for Rams Legend originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Aaron Donald has been out of the NFL for a full season, but his impact still lingers with the Los Angeles Rams. Donald announced his retirement in March 2024, and now in July 2025, Jared Verse is still talking about him. Sort of. The 2024 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year sounded exhausted just recalling his time with Donald. On Saturday, the former Florida State star spoke to the media at Loyola Marymount University. When the topic of Donald and his legendary workouts came up, Verse didn't hold back. While it's clear Verse has a ton of respect for the future Hall of Famer, his nickname for him was... intense. "I'm telling ya, he's a psychopath." Verse described just how brutal the training was. "I need another offseason to recover from all that. It was so bad. I worked out with multiple programs. I worked out with hundreds of people," he said. "The best athletes in the NFL. The best athletes in college. That was the hardest workout I've ever done. Not even close." The second-year linebacker wrapped it up with a comparison every college athlete understands. "You know those [expletive] days in college? Couldn't raise a candle to that." Verse backed up his words with a standout rookie season. He finished 2024 with 66 total tackles, 4.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. Along with winning Defensive Rookie of the Year, he made the Pro Bowl and was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team. The Rams went 10-7, won the NFC West and reached the postseason. They beat the Minnesota Vikings in the first round before falling to the Philadelphia Eagles 28-22 in the divisional round. Training with Aaron Donald certainly didn't hurt. The retired defensive tackle was one of the most dominant defenders of his era. He helped lead the Rams to a Super Bowl LVI title, won three NFL Defensive Player of the Year awards, made ten Pro Bowls and was the 2014 Defensive Rookie of the Year. The Rams kick off their preseason on August 9 against the Dallas Cowboys. This story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Jul 26, 2025, where it first appeared.
