GSM Arena06-06-2025

Mere hours ago, the Redmi Pad 2 went official and it's definitely been a long time coming, this one, seeing as how the original Redmi Pad launched all the way back in 2022.
The Redmi Pad 2 is currently available in some European markets, but it's also headed to India. And Redmi's Indian arm has officially revealed when it's launching over there - on June 18.
That missing piece in your day-to-day life?We found it.
Say hello to the #RedmiPad2, #BuiltForMore than ever before. Launching on June 18th.
Stay tuned: https://t.co/kbRSUEfsWj pic.twitter.com/fnipxaBNP8 — Redmi India (@RedmiIndia) June 5, 2025
Of course, pricing for the Indian market will only be made official on that day, but the specs should be identical to the international model.
It has an 11-inch IPS LCD screen with 90 Hz refresh rate and 600-nit peak brightness, the MediaTek Helio G100 Ultra SoC at the helm, 4/6/8GB of RAM, 128/256GB of storage, an 8 MP rear camera, a 5 MP front camera, and a 9,000 mAh battery with support for 18W wired charging. It runs Android 15 with Xiaomi's HyperOS 2 on top.

A security update fixed battery life? Some Galaxy S24 and Fold 5 users think so

Usually, new updates to older devices either bring no changes to battery life or even make it worse. Many people complained after receiving One UI 7 based on Android 15 that the update destroyed the battery life on their devices. Well, it seems Samsung may have decided to fix this issue. Now, some Galaxy S24 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 users have shared online that they are noticing lately that the battery life on their phones has improved after the June 2025 security update. A Galaxy Z Fold 5 user claims that the battery life on their phone improved dramatically – by 400%, which is pretty amazing, if true. Meanwhile, Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 + users are saying their battery life has also improved, albeit with not such a huge difference. The June 2025 security update was released earlier this month, and it started arriving to Galaxy S24 users two weeks ago for the international model and one week ago for the US models. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 received the update last week (both international and US models). The Galaxy S24. | Image Credit – PhoneArena Generally speaking, security updates usually are focused on fixing vulnerabilities and other bugs related to exploits. However, sometimes these updates can improve the overall smoothness of a phone or even its power efficiency. But it's important to note that other Galaxy S24 and Z Fold 5 users are not reporting seeing improvements in battery life. One UI 7 is one big update and one that's been long-awaited. Its official release was delayed a few times and even started then stopped, then started again in some markets. Generally, many people were unsettled by the speed at which the significant update was delivered. When it finally arrived, some had to experience the battery life of their phone it's great that Samsung is addressing the issue. Meanwhile, something else is worth noting in this case as well. After a major One UI update, it's normal for Galaxy phones to experience increased battery drain for a few days. This happens as the system re-indexes files, updates apps, and re-optimizes background processes. Android also needs time to relearn usage patterns to manage power more efficiently. Performance and battery life typically stabilize within 2–5 days. So, it could have been the security update, but it also could have been just Android settling itself out. The hot new Motorola Edge (2025) is getting more and more attractive at lower and lower prices

The only member of the popular Motorola Edge family released in the US this year is amazingly getting its second discount already in the space of just a couple of weeks. Best Buy is once again the nation's most generous retailer with bargain hunters who don't feel they need to purchase the latest Android flagships to be satisfied with their overall user experience. No, the Motorola Edge (2025) is nowhere near as powerful as the likes of Samsung's Galaxy S25, Google's Pixel 9, the OnePlus 13, or even the OnePlus 13R, packing a middling but not completely disappointing MediaTek Dimensity 7400 processor in combination with a decent but far from mind-blowing 8GB RAM count. $100 off (18%) 5G, Unlocked, 256GB Storage, 8GB RAM, 6.7-Inch P-OLED Display with 2712 x 1220 Pixel Resolution and 120Hz Refresh Rate Technology, MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Processor, Android 15, 50 + 10 + 50MP Triple Rear-Facing Camera System, 50MP Front-Facing Camera, 5,200mAh Battery, 68W Wired and 15W Wireless Charging Support, IP68 and IP69 Water and Dust Resistance, Military-Grade Durability, Vegan Leather Finish, Pantone Deep Forest Color Buy at BestBuy Originally priced at $549.99 and recently marked down to $499.99, Motorola's undeniably eye-catching new 6.7-inch mid-ranger can now be had for as little as $449.99. The catch? There doesn't seem to be one. That's right, your new phone will come unlocked and free of any and all carrier restrictions, requiring no device trade-in, number port-in, or upfront activation on a specific network. While our comprehensive Motorola Edge (2025) review didn't exactly lavish this thing with praise for its system performance, screen quality, and camera functionality, it's hard not to look at that sleek vegan leather finish, thin 8mm profile, and stunningly robust construction with anything other than the deepest admiration... at the handset's newly reduced price. I simply cannot think of another Android phone available in the US today in the sub-$500 segment with IP68, IP69, and MIL-STD-810H certifications for protection against water immersion, dust contact, high-pressure water jets, and even the occasional drop on a hard surface. Oh, and did I mention that the impressively affordable Motorola Edge (2025) also packs a remarkably large 5,200mAh battery equipped with astoundingly fast 68W charging technology? Those numbers are higher than what the Galaxy S25 Ultra has going for it, mind you, and I probably don't need to tell you how much costlier Samsung's latest S Pen-wielding super-flagship is. The Motorola Razr (2024) gets an irresistible $150 discount plus a gift worth $49.99

Don't intend to wait for this year's Prime Day phone deals? Well, if you're into flip phones, now might be the ideal time to grab the Motorola Razr (2024) for $150 off. In fact, not only do you get to save 21% on the $699.99 device at the Motorola Store, but you also receive a free $49.99 Razr strap case with your purchase. That's some $200 in savings right there, and it's not even Prime Day yet! Gift $549 99 $699 99 $150 off (21%) The Motorola Razr (2024) is currently available for $150 off its original price at the official store. We haven't seen such a generous promo at Motorola in quite a while, so it's definitely worth checking out. On top of the juicy price cut, you get a $49.99 strap case that matches your chosen Motorola Razr color free of charge. Buy at Motorola Although we came across a $200 price cut at Best Buy not long ago, this promo is no longer available. At the time of writing, the merchant gives you a $150 price cut, while Amazon only matches this discount on the Koala Gray Motorola phone might have a successor already, but it's still a very stylish flip phone. It features two great-looking displays: a 3.6-inch OLED cover screen and a 6.9-inch OLED touchscreen, delivering vibrant visuals. But it's not just the display and design that make this bad boy a worthwhile choice. It also offers great performance with its MediaTek Dimensity 7300X chip. Sure, it doesn't crush the benchmark tests, as you can see from our Razr (2024) review, but everyday tasks run like a breeze. What about the camera? It features a 50MP main sensor and a 13MP ultra-wide snapper. Photo quality is decent overall—nothing mind-blowing, but good enough for casual use. The main camera can sometimes produce oversharpened images, so keep that in mind. Software-wise, the Razr is promised three years of Android updates and four years of security patches, so it'll stay reliable in the long run. Still, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is considerably more promising on that front (and it's also considerably more expensive). At the end of the day, we might have to wait until Prime Day 2025 phone deals go live, but for impatient shoppers, the Razr (2024) is a bargain right now. Get yours right now for $150 off and receive a free matching strap case worth $49.99. Secure your connection now at a bargain price!
