5 Games To Play After Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Yahoo03-03-2025
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a monolithic game that, for many, requires double or triple-digit hours to complete a single playthrough. With two considerable zones to explore, nearly 100 side-quests and activities, and main story missions that take hours to tackle apiece, it's a slog in some spots. You'll likely require a palette cleanser afterward, but a familiar one, and we have the perfect recommendations!
Few open-world story-driven experiences compare to Red Dead Redemption 2. I will stand by the Wild West tale as one of the most perfect forms of entertainment. When you think about it (not too deeply), there are a lot of similarities between protagonists Henry and Arthur. They both ride horses, for example, and sometimes, they even fight bandits. But more importantly, it's a tale that sticks with you long after the credits roll—the type of experience you tell your non-gaming parents about at a family dinner.
In my opinion, the Kingdom Come: Deliverance series' combat is one of the most challenging aspects. It's frantic, complex, occasionally rewarding, but primarily annoying. That said, if you can't get enough one-on-one combat against the NPC bandits and knights wandering the world of Bohemia in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Mordhau proves an excellent battleground to refine your combat capabilities further. It offers a similar fighting style, with directional-based strikes, and since you're facing real-world players you can grow accustomed to frenzied fighting styles relatively fast.
It's the most obvious choice when discussing what to play after Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. If you have the time, finishing up or starting the first game will allow you to better understand the sequel's story, the world of medieval Bohemia, and the characters themselves, many of whom return for the sequel, such as Henry and Sir Hans Capon. All that said, KCD requires a significant investment, as it can take up to 100 hours to finish. I know, I know! Who didn't play the first game before beating the second? Me, it's me.
Another title with similar combat, but a bit more depth than Mordhau,is Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord, the long-awaited action RPG from TaleWorlds Entertainment. With similar, albeit more forgiving, directional combat, Bannerlord thrusts you into a vast sandbox set in a fictional medieval land full of knights and lords, with trade caravans to raid and men and women to woo. It's the type of open-world experience that doesn't hold your hand, allowing you to craft a story and rise to legendary status.
If you enjoy a game like Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 because of its setting more than its gameplay, then Crusader Kings 3 offers a revisionist take on the medieval ages. You choose your noble house, build a dynasty, form alliances, gather troops, and send them to raid or conquer your neighbors, while making decisions in pop-up events that change the course of your life and your family. It's the perfect medieval game for those who prefer medieval times' strategy, romance, and politics more than the nitty-gritty blood-n-mud.Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 launched February 4 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. It is a direct sequel to the first game, continuing the story of Henry as he explores Bohemia, finding his path in life following the devastation of his village.

A Psychologist Explains Why The Nicki Minaj Challenge Became A Viral Sensation

Source: Axelle/Bauer-Griffin / Getty Since #TheNickiMinaj challenge swept the internet last week amid the rapper's puzzling and pointed jabs at fellow music artists like SZA and Doechii, over one billion social media users have hopped on books, stacked dumbbells, and pool ledges to prove their physical aptitude on heels. The trend, that popped up seemingly out-of-the-blue and has now spread like wildfire, is an homage to a pose Nicki Minaj clocked in her 2013 music video, 'High-School,' balancing on sky-high beige heels beside a pool while rocking a long blonde wig and bubble-gum pink bikini. Twelve years later, an ordinary scene from an old rap video is now one of the most viral moments of the 2025 summer run, racking up over one billion views and counting. Every post appears aimed at outdoing the one before it, with TikTokers upping the stakes by balancing on increasingly outrageous household items like soda cans or cooking pots. So what's behind the latest wave of internet peacocking? We spoke to Columbia-trained psychologist, Bea Arthur, about why the high-heeled challenge has the social media world in a chokehold. Feminine Strength In A #TradeWife Era Arthur said that one of the driving forces motivating the trend's popularity is the 'brag-a-docious aura' of Nicki herself. 'One of the things that makes Black women so awesome and Black people so awesome is that we give ourselves confidence, that cockiness,' she said. The pose celebrates feminine prowess and seemingly superhuman strength, which is a visually captivating combination. 'The core strength in heels, it's so feminine. All the girls who were doing it in stripper shoes, I was like, 'Yes,'' Arthur said. 'And how they kept elevating it too. I think Ciara did it on three dumbbells,' she said. The pose is naturally defiant in a #tradewife era that demands women be more demure and submissive. Arthur said this trend calls forth a new message: 'The bad bitch will never die.' Showing Off Is In Our DNA Arthur, whose family is from Ghana, says that culturally, people of African descent tend to be 'shamelessly cocky,' a thread of gold we derived from our struggles. 'You look at hip-hop, we had to call ourselves kings. We had to put on gold. We had to flex, because it literally wasn't given.' She said in Black gay culture, we see the rise of the ballroom king and queen archetypes, who flounce about in a shamelessly vain way, but that's the magic marginalized people must tap into to create their own sense of value outside of systems of oppression. 'The human soul seeks balance at all times in our actions,' Arthur said. 'We seek to be understood, and we seek to be known on a subconscious level.' Participating in a trend like #thenickiminajchallenge is a chance to be seen and known by others, which is a form of self-regulation, albeit brief, she said. But seeking validation online can come with a dark side, especially for people who struggle with social isolation. Arthur said posting can cause spikes in dopamine, our brain's pleasure chemical, which can literally change social media from a pastime into an addiction. 'We're alone. Right? We're watching Netflix. We're scrolling. We're in the house. We're not connected. And so these likes feel like love.' she said. Social Media As Community Arthur said that it's no coincidence that TikTok's popularity took off during COVID when humans were socially and emotionally secluded for months. Viral trends give users an opportunity to feel a part of something, even if it's online and not in-person. 'We need community. We're social animals or tribal creatures, so we need to feel part of something and to be seen. These needs are innate, just like food and water,' she said. Being alone triggers cortisol, which is the body's stress hormone, to be more present in the blood, according to research. So viral trend participants may feel a sense of belonging and alignment by posting. 'That's why athletes love sports so much,' she said. 'Being with other people who love the game as much as you, is a beautiful thing, a necessary thing. Again, we are tribal social animals, but once it becomes ego serving, then it's an addiction, and then it's destructive,' Arthur said. Derrick Henry says he's still haunted by dropped pass in divisional playoff loss

Mark Andrews is not the only Baltimore Ravens skill position player with deep regrets from the 2025 AFC Divisional Round loss to the Buffalo Bills. While Andrews' mistake is one that's been covered and discussed in volume (and now sets itself up for a good redemption arc story), Derrick Henry made a mistake that flies under the radar. Yes, Henry also dropped a pass in the 27-25 elimination loss to the Bills, but it's one that few people remember. It feels like Henry is the only one who remembers it, but it's still haunting him right now. It came on the Ravens' very first drive of the game- King Henry was wide open, with tons of daylight in front of him, but he couldn't corral the pass from Lamar Jackson. While it was a bad drop, it ultimately had no real bearing on the game's result, as Rashod Bateman completed the drive with a touchdown catch from Jackson. However, Henry is a perfectionist, and his gaffe is still bothering him six months later. "I still think about the pass I dropped early in that game," Henry said while making at an appearance on NFL Network. Asked how often he thinks about this specific dropped pass, he responded: "All the time; it still makes me cringe." Derrick Henry says he still thinks about the pass he dropped in the #Ravens playoff loss to the #Bills. How often? "All the time. It still makes me cringe."@nflnetwork @BaldyNFL — Bridget Condon (@BridgetCondon_) July 26, 2025 The fact that this mistake bothers him so much reveals a great deal about who he is and what he stands for. Although it didn't significantly impact the game, Henry found his drop unacceptable. This mindset reflects the high-level motivation he possesses. You can see this mindset in his intense workout videos, which go viral every offseason and preseason. Henry is dedicated to being the best. In addition to that, he seems to be a good man off the field as well. Henry has been known to give back to the community.

The Kids' TV Favorite ‘Arthur' Shines as a Musical

LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill.—Mr. Ratburn, the teacher at Lakewood Elementary School, has come up with a creative assignment for his students. He wants them to write a story to perform in a show for Elwood City residents. Everyone thinks it will be fun except for Arthur, who's having self-doubts: Can he come up a story that isn't too boring? Adapted from Marc Brown's popular series of 'Arthur' novels by playwright John Maclay, with music and lyrics by Brett Ryback, the new 'Arthur & Friends Make a Musical' is an adorable addition to shows especially created for children 6 to 10 years old. Arthur's Problem Arthur's friends imagine what he believes are fascinating tales about dinosaurs and extraterrestrials. All Arthur can think up with is a story about his puppy, Pal, but he doesn't think that's interesting enough.
