Derrick Henry says he's still haunted by dropped pass in divisional playoff loss

Mark Andrews is not the only Baltimore Ravens skill position player with deep regrets from the 2025 AFC Divisional Round loss to the Buffalo Bills. While Andrews' mistake is one that's been covered and discussed in volume (and now sets itself up for a good redemption arc story), Derrick Henry made a mistake that flies under the radar.
Yes, Henry also dropped a pass in the 27-25 elimination loss to the Bills, but it's one that few people remember. It feels like Henry is the only one who remembers it, but it's still haunting him right now.
It came on the Ravens' very first drive of the game- King Henry was wide open, with tons of daylight in front of him, but he couldn't corral the pass from Lamar Jackson.
While it was a bad drop, it ultimately had no real bearing on the game's result, as Rashod Bateman completed the drive with a touchdown catch from Jackson.
However, Henry is a perfectionist, and his gaffe is still bothering him six months later.
"I still think about the pass I dropped early in that game," Henry said while making at an appearance on NFL Network.
Asked how often he thinks about this specific dropped pass, he responded: "All the time; it still makes me cringe."

The fact that this mistake bothers him so much reveals a great deal about who he is and what he stands for. Although it didn't significantly impact the game, Henry found his drop unacceptable. This mindset reflects the high-level motivation he possesses.
You can see this mindset in his intense workout videos, which go viral every offseason and preseason. Henry is dedicated to being the best. In addition to that, he seems to be a good man off the field as well. Henry has been known to give back to the community.

Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The Buffalo Bills and superstar quarterback Josh Allen are headed into the 2025 NFL season with only one goal in mind. Nothing but a Super Bowl would make the upcoming campaign count as a success. Last season, the Bills were just one win away from the big game. Unfortunately, they lost to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game. In recent years, Buffalo has looked the part of a Super Bowl favorite on multiple occasions. The team simply has not been able to get over the hump. "That's the only thing on my mind in camp, is just like, what can we do to bring a Lombardi trophy home?" Allen said. Allen put together the best season of his career last year. He won the NFL MVP, but that didn't mean much to him. Without a championship, the MVP was simply another award, although he was happy to win it. Throughout the course of the year, Allen played in 16 games. He completed 63.6 percent of his pass attempts for 3,731 yards, 28 touchdowns, and just six interceptions, while also racking up 531 yards and 12 more touchdowns on the ground. At 29 years old, Allen seems to have a new sense of urgency. He knows that a championship window can close at any time. They gave him a massive six-year, $330 million contract. Now, it's time for him to take his game up to another level and bring home a championship. Of course, that is easier said than done and will take a complete team effort. Allen and the rest of the Buffalo roster are highly motivated to get the job done this year. It will be interesting to see what the Bills are able to do this season. Allen's comments are a clear message to both his own team and the rest of the NFL that. Buffalo will be a team to be reckoned with. For more on the Buffalo Bills and general NFL news, head over to Newsweek Sports.

Baltimore Raven's first-round pick Malaki Starks amazed at Kyle Hamilton's football IQ

During the NFL draft, the Baltimore Ravens used its first-round pick on Georgia safety Malaki Starks, with the intention for pairing him up with former Notre Dame superstar Kyle Hamilton to make an elite duo. While the rookie hasn't been with the team long, he already knows that he's going to be playing alongside one of the best in the NFL. When asked about his new teammate, he gave a glowing review of Hamilton. 'There's levels, and Kyle is on that top level… He's so smart,' said Starks to the media on Friday. We are seeing it once again, that Hamilton isn't just a great football player, but a leader inside the locker room. His professional career is off to an amazing start, as he's made the Pro Bowl twice, was a First-team All-Pro in 2023, and a Second-team All-Pro in 2024. The duo could be roaming the Raven's secondary for years to come, and it could turn out to be one of the best set of safeties in the NFL. Bills WR Shavers carted off with ankle injury; LB Bernard, WR Samuel sidelined with hamstring issues

PITTSFORD, N.Y. (AP) — Buffalo Bills backup receiver Tyrell Shavers was carted off the field at training camp after hurting his right ankle on what proved to be the final play of practice Sunday. Shavers made a catch in the end zone and fell awkwardly while attempting to protect the ball from rookie cornerback Maxwell Hairston. Shavers was on the ground for several minutes while being tended to by the training staff, leading to coach Sean McDermott ending practice a few minutes earlier than scheduled. The 25-year-old Shavers signed with Buffalo as an undrafted rookie free agent two years ago, and appeared in three games with the Bills last season. Also, starting linebacker Terrel Bernard and starting receiver Curtis Samuel did not practice Sunday with both dealing with hamstring injuries. The team had no update on the severity of the injuries, with McDermott scheduled to address reporters on Monday. ___ AP NFL: The Associated Press
