Ultraviolette has announced a major software update for its F77 electric motorcycle lineup, introducing the new Gen3 Powertrain Firmware. Alongside this update, a new performance mode called Ballistic+ has also been rolled out. The upgrade follows extensive analysis of rider data gathered from over 8 million kilometres of real-world usage.
The Gen3 firmware is designed to improve throttle response and overall performance of the F77. It is based on data collected by the company's proprietary Violette A.I. system, which monitors over 3,000 parameters during a ride, including acceleration patterns, terrain inputs, and rider behaviour. According to the company, these learnings have been used to refine the power delivery and handling of the motorcycle.
The throttle is more aggressive with the Mach 3 with UV fine-tuning the motor-controller setup on the F77
One of the headline changes is the introduction of Ballistic+, a new riding mode available across all F77 variants. This mode is engineered to offer a more responsive and immediate power surge, particularly noticeable during initial acceleration. While the exact performance metrics have not been disclosed, the update is aimed at delivering a more engaging riding experience.
Ultraviolette has clarified that the update will be offered free of charge to all existing F77 customers. This ensures that even older models will benefit from the performance improvements and feature enhancements introduced in the latest version of the software. The Ballistic+ mode and Gen3 firmware are fully compatible with earlier models of the F77.

The update builds on previous iterations of the F77, including the MACH 2 version released in 2024. That model introduced safety and convenience features such as traction control, regenerative braking with 10 levels of adjustability, hill-hold assist, and the integration of Violette A.I. for adaptive system behavior.
With electric motorcycles still a developing segment in India, software-led enhancements such as this one are likely to become more common as manufacturers collect more user data and refine their systems. Such OTA updates are particularly easier with the electric vehicles because they come with connected technology. The F77 update is a clear example of how connected technologies and real-world data are beginning to influence performance tuning and product longevity in the EV space.

Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2, F77 SuperStreet get new Ballistic+ riding mode. What it offers?

Ultraviolette has launched a software update for its high-performance electric bikes. Under this software update, all the Ultraviolette models, including the F77 Mach 2 and F77 SuperStreet electric motorcycles, have received some performance upgrades with a more powerful Ballistic+ riding mode. The new software update comes with a revised throttle map. Paired with the Gen3 powertrain firmwire, the new riding mode promises superior power-packed performance. The electric two-wheeler manufacturer claims that this new riding mode offers a revised throttle map for better torque delivery. The company has stated that owners of the older F77 electric motorcycles can also get the same update for their EVs for free. Also, despite the update, the electric bikes from the OEM come without any change in their pricing. With the Ballistic+ riding mode and a revised throttle map, the overall acceleration of the Ultraviolette EVs has improved. On the Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2, the torque delivery under 30 kmph, which was not very engaging, has been updated. Now the electric bike feels more engaging with a better initial acceleration. Apart from the revamped throttle map, both the F77 electric motorcycles remain unchanged mechanically. The F77 Mach 2 and F77 SuperStreet get the same 7.1 kWh battery pack that offers a claimed range of 211 km on a single charge. Powering both the electric motorcycles is a 30 kW electric motor, promising a top speed of 155 kmph. Ultraviolette has introduced two other products as well, including the Shockwave adventure motorcycle and Tesseract electric scooter. Both these electric vehicles are already open for prebooking via the company's website, while deliveries are slated to commence from early next year. It is not clear if both the Ultraviolette Tesseract and Shockwave electric scooter and motorcycle will come equipped with the new Ballistic+ riding mode or not.

Ultraviolette F77 Gets Ballistic+ Upgrade, No Extra Cost For Owners

Last Updated: New 'Ballistic+' firmware brings sharper throttle, stronger torque, and a more thrilling ride without changing the hardware. Ultraviolette has launched a new performance update for its flagship electric motorcycle, the F77. Called the Gen3 Powertrain Firmware, this upgrade introduces the Ballistic+ mode, aimed at giving riders an even sharper and more exciting experience. The best part is it's free for all existing F77 owners, as per Autocar. This update comes after the F77 was launched in Europe, where riders tend to ride at higher speeds. That put extra pressure on the bike's systems. In response, Ultraviolette engineers tweaked the thermal performance of the motor and controller. The result? A bike that resists heat build-up better and delivers a stronger initial torque before any power drop happens. With Ballistic+, riders will notice a faster throttle response and a more engaging performance. The display will still show the top mode as 'Ballistic', but under the hood, things have definitely leveled up. However, key figures like the 40 bhp peak power and 100Nm of torque remain unchanged. The battery size stays the same – 7.1kWh for the F77 Mach 2 and 10.3kWh for the Mach 2 Recon. The claimed range figures are also unchanged. This firmware works across all F77 variants, thanks to the bike's smart Vehicle Control Unit (VCU), which processes over 3,000 data points in real-time. This allows the system to fine-tune the powertrain using just software — no hardware upgrade needed. view comments First Published: July 23, 2025, 08:04 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Ultraviolette upgrades F77 with Gen3 firmware, introduces ‘Ballistic+' mode

Ultraviolette Automotive has announced a major performance upgrade for its F77 electric motorcycle with the rollout of its Gen3 powertrain firmware, which introduces a new high-performance riding mode called 'Ballistic+'. The update is available free of charge to all existing F77 owners. The upgrade is the result of data gathered from more than eight million kilometres of cumulative customer riding experience, enabling the company to refine motor control algorithms, battery management systems, and dynamic performance tuning. According to Ultraviolette, the Gen3 firmware enhances acceleration, top-end performance, and throttle precision, while also improving energy regeneration and heat management. In-house operating system The Ballistic+ mode is intended for advanced riders seeking sharper throttle response and higher top speeds. It is currently available only on the F77 Recon variant . Ultraviolette's in-house operating system, Violette A.I., played a central role in developing and deploying the update. The OTA (over-the-air) firmware is being pushed out to customers across India and international markets in a phased manner starting this week. The company says the update represents a milestone in its strategy to evolve the F77 as a software-defined motorcycle platform. The move reflects a broader industry trend of enhancing vehicle capabilities post-purchase via firmware improvements. The F77, launched in 2022, is currently available in two variants — standard and Recon. Ultraviolette is also preparing for a global rollout, with launches expected in select international markets later this year.
