As much comes after the 22-year-old, despite having agreed to the terms of a contract at the Camp Nou, put pen to paper on a new long-term extension with Athletic Club.
The news has since been met by a whole wave of reactions, with Dani Olmo, for one, having quickly taken to social media to make clear his unwavering commitment to the cause in Hansi Flick's squad:
And as alluded to above, Olmo has since been joined in as much by fellow Barca standout Raphinha.
In a post on his official Instagram account, wide-man Raphinha unveiled a photo of himself on the pitch, pointing to the Blaugrana crest:

Arsenal sign defender Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia
Arsenal have made Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera their fifth signing of the summer, taking the club's spending to close to £140million. Spaniard Mosquera joins for an initial fee of £13m – with performance-related add-ons – and is understood to have agreed a five-year deal with an option of a further year. The 21-year-old is set to provide cover for William Saliba and Gabriel at the heart of the Gunners' defence, but can also operate anywhere along the backline. Mosquera, who played 41 times for Valencia last season, has joined Arsenal for their tour of Singapore and Hong Kong. 'It means a lot to me,' Mosquera told the club website. 'There's been a lot of hard work behind all of this. 'It's an opportunity that came up and I couldn't let it pass me by. I'm joining a historic, massive club. When you arrive here with your family, you really feel the greatness of this place.' New sporting director Andrea Berta has wasted no time in improving Arsenal's squad as manager Mikel Arteta eyes the club's first Premier League title in more than two decades. 'Cristhian has already performed consistently well with significant experience in La Liga. He is an intelligent player with good pace, who can play centrally and on both sides,' Arteta said. 'He is a young player with exciting talent and enormous potential, who will fit well into our squad as we continue to prepare for next season. Cristhian adds good quality to our squad, and we look forward to working with him and making him feel at home with us.' Mosquera follows Spain midfielder Martin Zubimendi (£60m), goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga (£5m), Christian Norgaard (£10m) and Noni Madueke (£48.5m) in moving to the Emirates. Gabriel and Myles Lewis-Skelly have also put pen to paper on new contracts in the off-season, with a long-term extension for teenager Ethan Nwaneri believed to be all-but completed. Arsenal remain hopeful of signing striker Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon, although it is not believed a deal, which could be worth as much as £65m, is imminent.

Crewe Alexandra have signed teenage forward Emre Tezgel on loan from Stoke City. The 19-year-old moves to the Alex for the 2025-26 season having signed a new two-year contract with the Potters last month. The move to Crewe is Tezgel's second loan, having spent the second half of 2023-24 in League Two with MK Dons, where he scored three goals in 17 games. Tezgel is the fifth summer signing made by boss Lee Bell, who is keen to add more before the start of the new season. Transfers - July 2025

Barca's Ter Stegen faces three months out after back surgery
Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen is set to undergo back surgery on a long-term problem and will miss three months as a result, the Germany international said on Thursday. The Spanish champions signed Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia this summer, who is expected to become the team's first choice, with Wojciech Szczesny as back-up. "Today is a personally difficult day for me. Physically and athletically, I feel in very good shape, although unfortunately I am not free from pain," said Ter Stegen on social media network Instagram. "After intensive discussions with the FC Barcelona medical team and external experts, the quickest and safest way for me to fully recover is through back surgery. "After my last operation on my back, I returned to the pitch after 66 days-almost two months... this time, the doctors believe about three months will be necessary as a precaution, to avoid any risks." Spanish media reported Barcelona were hoping to sell Ter Stegen, 33, who signed for the club in 2014, to help register new signings Garcia and Marcus Rashford. Last summer a long-term injury to defender Andreas Christensen allowed Barcelona to use a La Liga loophole to register playmaker Dani Olmo on a temporary basis after he signed from RB Leipzig. "Emotionally, it hurts a lot not being able to support the team during this time. Fortunately, the rehabilitation is manageable and the road back is clear," continued Ter Stegen. "Don't worry -- I'll be back." rbs/gj
