Andi Peters defiantly hits back at complaints he's 'paid to be on holiday' with stinging swipe at critics live on Lorraine
The 54-year-old didn't hold back as he presented a competition segment from Nissi Beach in Ayia Napa, Cyprus.
Over the past year fans have shared their annoyance over the fact that the star has been able to travel to luxurious places around the world just to inform viewers about ITV 's competitions.
And back in February fans Good Morning Britain fans 'switched off' as they blasted the show's 'unacceptable and unnecessary' report from Andi in Cape Town, South Africa.
During today's instalment, he appeared to acknowledge the backlash and made light of the situation.
Andi said: 'Thanks very much indeed Lorraine, welcome back to Nissi Beach here in Cyprus.

'I've got to tell you Lorraine, I've got to make it clear... lots of people are saying "Andi you're always on holiday!"
'I'm not on holiday...'
The camera then panned out at holiday-goers enjoying the sunshine on the beach and he continued: 'Look over there, people who are on holiday.'
It then went back to Andi sipping a cocktail and he said: 'Me, Lorraine? Working.'
Lorraine cheekily chimed in: 'Yeah right! Yeah right.'
Andi and the likes of Kate Lawler, Josie Gibson and Jeff Brazier regularly appear on GMB, Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women to share competitions with viewers.
The stars present from a number of incredible places, including Jeff in Thailand at the start of the year.
It comes after last month MailOnline revealed that ITV stopped flying Andi and Jeff to luxury destinations to promote competitions amid job cuts.
MailOnline understands that executives at the channel feel it's in 'bad taste' to continue flying presenters like Andi, 54, and Jeff, 46, to luxury overseas destinations after announcing hundreds of redundancies across ITV daytime shows Lorraine and Loose Women.
This year alone, Andi has broadcast from the Maldives, Australia, Cape Town, and Florida, while Jeff has jet to Thailand, Sri Lanka and Malta, which according to insiders, has 'irritated' production staff who have since been told their roles are at risk.
The broadcaster has resisted sending any of their talent abroad since May 19 when Lisa Snowdon hosted a segment from Cyprus, which coincided with their official announcement of budget cuts and job losses.
And it's not just the frustration of staff members as viewers have also hit out in their hundreds over Andi regularly appearing in sun drenched destinations, with one X user commenting: 'If ITV really wanted to save money they would stop sending Andi Peters to Mauritius or the rings of Saturn every time they have a competition.'
On May 20, ITV announced they were halving TV show Lorraine from an hour to 30 minutes and only broadcasting the show, as well as panel series Loose Women for 30 weeks of the year.
A source told MailOnline: 'ITV have scaled back on sending top talent overseas to present their competition segments.
'The competitions themselves, which give viewers the chance to win six figure sums and idyllic holidays, bring in a great deal of revenue, but constantly flying the likes of Andi and Jeff to the Maldives and South Africa was starting to frustrate staff and viewers alike.
'It was decided that they would dial down for a few weeks after the budget cuts were announced and no one has flown overseas to present the competitions since.
'As well as there being a backlash online from disgruntled viewers, it was felt continuing to send talent abroad to luxurious holiday destinations as others are losing their jobs would be in bad taste.'
Andi has been the face of ITV's competition segments for years, jetting off to an endless list of desirable holiday destinations.
In January, he was in Australia followed by the Maldives, where he appeared on a unicorn float, before flying to South Africa in February and Florida in April.
Meanwhile, Jeff, flew to Thailand in January, Sri Lanka in March and the same month was joined by son Freddy in Gozo, Malta.
But since the announcement of ITV's budget cuts last month, Jeff has instead broadcast from the Cotswolds and London's Television Centre while during Monday's programme of Lorraine, Andi was in Bristol.
MailOnline has approached an ITV spokesperson for comment.

Last month MailOnline revealed the extent of future cuts to ITV's Loose Women, with the show set to no longer broadcast with a live studio audience.
An insider confirmed that the programme, which will only air 30 weeks of the year during school term times, is scrapping having fans join them at the London studio because it's too expensive.
This Morning are also cutting back on costs as they resist broadcasting from outdoor locations and sending presenters like Alison Hammond abroad to interview A-list celebrities.
It's been speculated that Lorraine will quit her show following the end of her one-year contract, with the long-running ITV series predicted to be cancelled.
While Lorraine is yet to comment, Loose Woman Nadia Sawalha has spoken out about the 'brutal' cuts and how they have affected her.
She said: 'This show has been highly successful for 25 years, more actually now, it is such a clear brand...
'The brutality of the world... what a lot of people don't realise is that we're self-employed, every contract is a new contract, I could be let go tomorrow or in five years, we're not employees.
'What's been absolutely brutal over the last week and honestly, I feel tearful about it is that hundreds of people are going to be made redundant out of the blue, these are people behind the scenes, that support us in every way.
'It's the way of the world, inflation is insane, cuts have to be made... a lot of my friends and colleagues on this show and at ITV have been there for decades, and I can't tell you how upsetting it was to see people walking around numb with shock and fear about what they were going to do.'

Coronation Street star unexpectedly axed in shock exit as character 'killed off' without warning
A Coronation Street cast member announced their exit from the ITV soap and fans are convinced their character was killed off. A Coronation Street star has announced their departure from the ITV soap and it's already been broadcast. In a shocking turn of events, their character may have met their demise, after the actor's goodbye message left viewers convinced they were "brown bread". Logan Radcliffe returned to the ITV drama this week, receiving a visit from Carla Connor whilst behind bars. She was frantic for answers about what had happened to Becky Swain, the late wife of her girlfriend Lisa Swain. Lisa had been finding it difficult to progress and move forward, uncertain whether Becky was in danger prior to her death and why she died, whether by accident or otherwise, with Carla wanting to help, the Mirror reports. She went to see Logan who demanded £10,000 for any information he might have about Becky. He then accidentally revealed a name, Tia Wardley, though no context was provided. Regardless of who she is, it was enough to get Logan into hot water with a fellow inmate over a "mutual friend" he'd angered. He was told he had revealed too much, and with that his cell door was shut - making it obvious to viewers he was in serious danger. As the episode came to an end, actor Harry Lowbridge, who portrays Logan, went on Instagram to announce his departure from the programme - confirming his final scenes had now been shown. With that, fans are certain Logan is now dead. They suspect that whoever Tia was, genuine or not, he'd disclosed too much and an unknown individual had the cellmate punish him for running his mouth. Fans reckon it will be disclosed that Logan has been killed, murdered in his cell. The actor confirmed no additional scenes were planned when he shared on Instagram: "Farewell Logan. It's been a blast x." Following the post and the broadcast scenes, viewers took to social media to share their theories that the soap had just killed off a character without any prior warning. One viewer said: "So Logan is brown bread then?" Another viewer agreed, writing: "RIP Logan," as a third viewer stated; "So Logan gets killed off in prison then!" A further comment read; "Harry posting a goodbye? Has Logan been killed in prison?" The reactions continued pouring in with one fan penning: "Okay so when Logan is killed in prison then what?!" Whether Logan has died or remains alive is still to be disclosed despite the speculation, with viewers questioning if he might make a comeback at some stage and whether we'll discover who was behind the assault. Then there's the matter that Tia might or might not be connected to the plot. Why are individuals so frantic to keep the truth hidden as well? Everything will have to be revealed at some point.

Forget the ‘freedom' of freelancing — give me back my 9-5
There won't be an 'out of office' on Lauren's email this summer. 'As a freelancer, admitting you're taking a holiday is like hoisting up a flag saying 'no' to work,' the 39-year-old copywriter said. 'It could mean either rejecting new clients or making existing ones wait for work, which I worry would lead them to find a faster replacement. I can't take that risk — so I can't take time off.' Lauren, who did not want her full name published, had anticipated that freelancing would be a dream flexible career when she left her employed role at a marketing agency last year. 'I'd got caught up in the Instagram posts; all the freelancers I knew seemed to be working from the beach, able to fit work into gaps around travel, kids or fitness. It appeared to be the best of all worlds,' she explained.

Love Island's Megan takes swipe at Shakira and Harry as she shares verdict on co-stars
Megan Forte Clarke, who was dumped from the villa by the public alongside Conor Phillips this week, has shared her thoughts on the remaining couples on Love Island Former Love Island star Megan Forte Clarke has shared her thoughts on the couples still in the villa following her departure. She was dumped in a public vote alongside Conor Phillips this week, just days ahead of the live final. Megan, 24, had originally been voted out of the villa earlier in the series but she recently returned. She then rekindled a romance with co-star Conor, 25, but they received the least votes in the latest poll and their exits aired last night. After leaving the villa for a second time, Megan gave her opinion on the remaining couples, including teasing that she didn't expect one of them to still be together. It comes after Top Gear host admitted he 'never got along' with Jeremy Clarkson as he made a bold statement. READ MORE: Shaughna Phillips reveals why Love Island's top couple won't last – and it makes sense Speaking to ITV, Megan said that it was a "shock" to see Harry Cooksley, 30, and Shakira Khan, 22, together. They are now coupled up once again after having been in a long-running love triangle with now-dumped Helena Ford, 29. Last week, shortly after Megan returned to the villa, Helena ended things with Harry, bringing the love triangle to a close too. In the same episode, he told Shakira that he was either leaving with her or without her, and he went on to choose her in the last recoupling. Asked if any couples had changed in the time between her first exit and her return, Megan said: "I don't think any couple has changed. I think Harry and Shakira being together was a shock for me but everyone is really genuine." Further sharing her opinion, Megan teased that she thinks the couples in the villa have potential for a long-term relationship. She said: "I definitely think all the other couples have long term potential, it all just makes sense." Megan however revealed that there's one couple in particular that she hopes wins Love Island. She named Yasmin Pettet, 24, and Jamie Rhodes, 26, as her choice as winners ahead of this series' live final taking place next week. Asked who she's rooting for on the show, Megan said following her departure this week: "I'm really rooting for Yasmin and Jamie this time round." Further discussing the couple, she added: "They balance each other out perfectly." Megan also revealed that she was feeling "much better" about leaving the villa with Conor compared to her first exit. She said: "I left on really good terms." She continued by saying: "It was a nice way to leave and I'm very happy." She added: "I took a big risk coming back because I could have easily been pied but I have gone out with what I came in for - everything happens for a reason." The islander also said that it was a "completely different experience". Megan said: "[It was] a lot more relaxing and a lot more lovey dovey. It was I think a completely different experience the second time round and it was a different villa to the first time when everyone was wife swapping." Love Island continues tomorrow night at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
