Sunday Brunch guest rushes off set as host asks 'are you leaving us'

Sunday Brunch star Big Zuu was forced to make a quick exit from the Channel 4 programme as he raced to Glastonbury to perform with rapper AJ Tracey The Sunday Brunch set was one guest down midway through the show, as Big Zuu made an early exit to dash for Glastonbury. The rapper, 29, returned to the programme to present his quirky culinary creation: a "lasagne on pizza". ‌ Eager to get moving, he breezed through his cooking demonstration, quickly making an exit to catch his ride to the iconic festival. ‌ Big Zuu kicked off the show with Jim Moir, Aisling Bea, Nick Helm, Fuse ODG, Damon Hill, and Such Brave Girls duo Kat Sadler and Lizzie Davidson. But as he was mid-preparation of his unique lasagne-pizza fusion, Simon interjected to query: "Are you leaving us after this?", reports the Manchester Evening News. "I have to go yeah, I can't stay," admitted Big Zuu. "I'm going to Glastonbury." With a chuckle, he added: "I've got to go to Glasto and find myself." He shared that he was set to rock the stage with AJ Tracey, planning to head out from the Channel 4 set in his tour bus. ‌ Big Zuu revealed: "I'm going to travel three hours for ten minutes [on stage]," while flaunting his all-ready wristband ahead of his 8pm slot. "You've got time," Tim chimed in encouragingly, with a confident Big Zuu responding: "I'll make it." ‌ Despite the rush to Glastonbury, recently notching up a goal at SoccerAid, and launching a Sky series with AJ Tracey, Big Zuu claimed during other parts of the show that his schedule was remarkably clear. "This is the first time in my life I'm actually doing nothing, I'm just going to chill," he declared. "I'm going to find myself, it's really good, it's nice to chill, I get to do lots of fun stuff, I like relaxing and just working on me." Later in the programme, Kim Sadler from Such Brave Girls disclosed her notes about the show with the remark: "Zuu bunked off for Glasto," hinting that the star had taken time off prior to the break for the festival.

Sunday Brunch host issues apology to Aisling Bea after 'boring' mum question

Sunday Brunch hosts Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer issued an apology to comedian Aisling Bea after they asked her a 'boring' question about motherhood Sunday Brunch hosts Simon Rimmer and Tim Lovejoy playfully said sorry to comedian Aisling Bea after they quizzed her on her personal life. The Irish comedian made an appearance on the Channel 4 morning show alongside guests like Big Zuu, with Kat Sadler and Lizzie Davidson from Such Brave Girls. ‌ Almost immediately into the show, Tim disclosed a backstage chat with Aisling, prompting a cheeky apology from him. ‌ He explained: "Aisling, this morning you came in and I said to you, 'How is it being a mum?' and then Simon said to you, 'Congratulations, I've not seen you since becoming a mum,' and you said, 'Simon, the boring thing and being a mum is that everyone keeps asking about it'." "So I apologise for that," he said with a chuckle: "But how is it being a mum?" reports the Manchester Evening News. Aisling responded with playful repartee: "Thank you for apologising, I'll work on forgiveness but I can't guarantee it." She continued: "I still identify as a child-free, single lady because of the vibe but I do have a baby and a boyfriend." With her signature wit, Aisling commented on "rival show" Saturday Kitchen, saying her little one "couldn't get her head around it" so she likely wasn't watching her mum today. ‌ Opening up about motherhood, she added: "I feel like I'm not a mum yet, at the start you're just like dealing with a new person in the house, I think it'll be a while before that feels like I'm a mother." Aisling revealed that she and her partner Jack Freeman became parents for the first time in August last year, after getting celebrities like Paul Rudd and Travis Kelce to announce her pregnancy news months earlier. ‌ She took to Instagram to share the birth of her baby, posting a series of photos showing her growing bump, ending with a final snap of her cradling her newborn daughter in hospital. In a playful post, she wrote: "Trip advisor review of Pregnancy One star," and listed a series of "negatives" such as it being "expensive" and leaving her feeling "very unrested". ‌ "Not as described online or in pictures. Reminded me of the Glasgow Willie Wonka experience. Towards the end of my stay I was repeatedly kicked in the nuts," she continued. She then went on to list: "UTIs, bleeding, depression, cramps, insomnia, nosebleeds, sinus blockage, migraines, vomiting, being randomly touched by people without asking, bones mushing, organs moving, skin stretching, being told that you'll forget all the pain/that it's a privilege / that it will all be "worth it" in the end, heightened awareness of climate change and worst of all- boredom- all described as « normal » and was repeatedly recommended « a nice bath » as a fix to all of the above." Aisling also shared the "positives", saying she enjoyed the bath at the end and appreciated the help with her bags, adding: "Before checking out, nearby kebab shop man provided free extra chips and quite a flirty wink, which I appreciated. Was given a little gift at check out which is, admittedly, quite cute. " Sunday Brunch airs from 10am on Channel 4.

Roman Kemp savagely brands Simon Rimmer's Sunday Brunch fish pie 'the worst'

Roman Kemp has claimed that the worst pie he's ever eaten was made by Sunday Brunch presenter and chef Simon Rimmer, but it wasn't actually the star's cooking that was the issue TV host Roman Kemp has opened up about his less-than-pleasant culinary experience on Channel 4's Sunday Brunch, where he was served a fish pie by chef Simon Rimmer. While chewing the fat with singer Tom Grennan, 30, on their podcast Introducing the comfort food chat led Roman, 32, to confess that the most disappointing pie he's ever tasted was one dished out by Simon during the programme – describing it as the 'worst bit of fish pie' he had ever encountered. ‌ He explained how despite his affection for both Simon and co-host Tim Lovejoy, eating fish pie at the crack of dawn had put him off, saying: "The only reason why is that, Sunday Brunch, you're there for hours, so long. You're there for long. Love Tim, love Simon, but it's a long show and it's early." ‌ Kemp revealed that when pressed for his thoughts on the dish while still reeling from the early hour, he candidly remarked, "It was 8am and I'm trying to stomach this fish pie and they came over and they said 'What do you think?' I hate this, I said, 'I didn't like it'." Roman's startling admission comes after viewers heaped praise on a new change in Sunday Brunch's presenting team. While usually the dynamic duo of Simon and Tim Lovejoy steer the ship, the latter has recently taken a brief hiatus, ushering in TV favourite Vicky Pattison to fill his shoes. Announcing her stint on the show, an excited Vicky shared on Instagram: "I HAVE SOME EXCITING NEWS! ! ! !". ‌ The much-loved presenter shared: "As a long time friend of @sundaybrunchc4 it is an absolute HONOUR to be wearing a slightly different hat this week! I will be joining my good pal @rimmersimon as his co-host while the lovely @timlovejoy_official has a very well deserved break! ! !". She couldn't hide her enthusiasm, as she continued: "I am buzzing like an old fridge to chat to all of our gorgeous guests, eat some delicious food and hopefully give anyone watching and nursing a hangover a bit of light comedy reprieve." Viewers were overjoyed by the news of Vicky stepping in on Sunday Brunch. One fan expressed: "Joke about Vicki all you want, but its good to have some feminine energy co-presenting and female POV on the sofa while chatting with the guests." Another viewer was quick to add: "What a breath of fresh air @VickyPattison is #SundayBrunch," and another praised the change, commenting: "I honestly don't think Tim should go, but having Vicki is a nice change from two bald blokes being blokey and exciting only really by any footie talk #sundaybrunch." Fans can catch the new dynamic duo when Sunday Brunch hits the screens again today (Sunday, June 29) at 10am on Channel 4.
