Form Four student killed, pillion rider hurt in Shah Alam motorcycle accident
The incident occurred at around 9.45pm when the victim, who was riding a Honda EX5 with another male student, was heading from Bulatan Sukan towards a hypermarket in Section 13.
Shah Alam district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said the motorcycle is believed to have lost control near the Ramly Halal Mart before crashing into the road divider.
"The impact caused both the rider and pillion rider to be flung onto the road.
"The rider suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene," he said in a statement today.
The pillion rider sustained neck injuries and multiple lacerations on his legs.
He was taken to Shah Alam Hospital for treatment.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
Police are urging witnesses or anyone with information on the incident to contact Investigating Officer Inspector Abdul Nasser Peping from the Shah Alam district police headquarters' traffic division at 012-2863875.

PETALING JAYA: A freelance religious speaker is under police investigation for allegedly sharing explicit videos involving his wives and other women, following a report lodged by his second wife. 'Under Section 233 of the Communications Act, offenders may be fined up to RM50,000, jailed for up to one year, or both, with an additional RM1,000 fine for each day the offence continues after conviction. 'For offences under Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act, the penalty is a fine not exceeding RM100,' he said. Preacher arrested for sharing intimate videos of wives
KUALA LUMPUR: A preacher has been arrested after his second wife lodged a police report alleging that he distributed intimate videos of her and his other wives. "Initial investigations found that the mobile phones contained several sex videos involving the suspect and his wives, as well as compromising images of several other women." Seven injured as express bus crashes into height barrier
KUALA LUMPUR: Seven people, including the driver of an express bus, were injured after the vehicle crashed into a height restriction barrier at Jalan Mutiara, Putra Mahkota, late Thursday night. The incident occurred at about 11.25pm along a route near the Negri Sembilan-Selangor border. Kajang police chief, Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof, said the bus was en route from Kuantan to Negeri Sembilan and Melaka, carrying 22 people - 19 adults, three children, and the driver. "Preliminary investigations revealed that the 62-year-old driver was using the Waze navigation app and failed to notice the height restriction barrier along the route. "This caused the bus to crash into the metal barrier, resulting in extensive damage to the front and upper sections of the vehicle," he said in a statement today. Naazron said seven people, including the driver, sustained injuries in the incident. Four victims were sent to Hospital Serdang, while the remaining three were treated at Hospital Tuanku Ja'afar in Seremban. The rest of the passengers were picked up by relatives and friends who rushed to the scene. The case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for careless and inconsiderate driving. Upon conviction, the offence carries a fine of between RM5,000 and RM10,000 or up to 12 months' imprisonment, or both. Naazron reminded motorists to stay alert and drive responsibly, especially when using navigation apps. "We urge all road users to pay close attention to road signs and height restrictions, and to drive with full care and consideration at all times," he said.
