Mick Jagger and Elton John top star-studded guest list for French state banquet
Sir Elton, who is known for hosting his own annual white-tie and tiara charity ball, was among the 160 guests who gathered at the King's royal white-tie affair in honour of French president Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte.

Both musicians have homes in France and Sir Elton also has a home in nearby Old Windsor.
Sir Elton famously sang Candle In The Wind, rewritten as Goodbye England's Rose, at the funeral of the King's first wife Diana, Princess of Wales, and he has a close bond with the Duke of Sussex – Charles's youngest son with whom the King has a troubled relationship.
Other notable invitees who turned out for the glittering banquet with Charles, the Queen and the Prince and Princess of Wales were actress Dame Kristin Scott Thomas, former England goalkeeper Mary Earps, who now plays for Paris Saint-Germain, authors Joanne Harris and Sebastian Faulks, sculptor Sir Antony Gormley and Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and his wife Lady Victoria Starmer.

The King was seated between Mr Macron and French culture minister Rachida Dati, while Kate – attending her first state banquet in nearly two years – was on the other side of the French president and also next to art historian Christophe Leribault, chairman of the Musee D'Orsay.
The Queen was on the other side of the table, between Mrs Macron and French armed forces minister Sebastien Lecornu.
On the other side of first lady Brigitte was heir to the throne William.

Sir Mick, whose formal white place card read 'Sir Michael Jagger', was seated between Dame Kristin and Alice Rufo, director general for international relations and strategy of the French ministry for the armed forces.
Sir Elton, who has severe vision issues after contracting an eye infection, was seated next to his husband, rather than apart which is usually the custom for couples at royal banquets.
On Sir Elton's other side was the Duchess of Gloucester, while Sir Keir was next to footballer Ms Earps.
Also making an appearance was First Dates' Fred Sirieix, as well as the French singer Mika, who was sat next to the Duchess of Edinburgh.

A French traveller visiting Australia was left astonished after attending an AFL match at Marvel Stadium, where she discovered that the Brisbane Lions Football Club's team song sounded very familiar. The club's team song, 'The Pride of Brisbane Town', is indeed sung to the tune of La Marseillaise, the French national anthem. The Lions adopted the tune in 1997, but it originates from Fitzroy, who merged with the Brisbane Bears to form the club. The song was written by former player Bill Stephen while on an end-of-season trip to Perth in 1952. 'We really didn't have a song that united us at Fitzroy, and I had just been to the pictures to see Casablanca and was impressed by the scene in the restaurant,' Stephen explained. 'The Germans were belting out their Nazi song, and some bloke started singing this French song. Gradually all the French joined in and overwhelmed the Germans with their voice. I was very impressed with the song, La Marseillaise. 'As we were in a carriage on our way to the West having a booze-up, I told the boys that we needed a good song and gave them the tune to La Marseillaise. 'Anyway, I wanted all the boys to help make up the song. I started them off with the first line, which was, 'We are the boys from Fitzroy my lads,' then I went to all the others and each gave me a different line. 'We must have sung it 30,000 times by the time we got home a fortnight later. That song kept Fitzroy people alive during our bad days. People used to sing it, and sing it, and sing it.' People left 'terrified after woman accepts 45 minute 'monster' burrito challenge
People have been left 'terrified' for one woman's health after she documented herself participating in a 45-minute eating challenge where she devoured an eight pound 'monster' burrito A professional eater has made chins hit the floor as she became the first person to ever succeed to finish the 45 minute 'monster' burrito challenge, making some 'terrified' in the process. Professional eater Katina documented her journey as she travelled to Van Buren in Arkansas, US, to attempt a 'monster' 32 inch burrito challenge which is offered at Las Fresas Mexican Grill. Having successfully won several other eating challenges, including beating burger-eating records and often going viral online for eating large amounts of food at once, this dish proved to be no challenge for Katina. "Now, this bad boy is undefeated right now, and it is undefeated for a reason," Katina said in her TikTok video. "This baby weighs in at right about eight pounds and is absolutely loaded with da meats. There is steak, chicken, chorizo, and then on top as you can see there's a bunch of their scrimps. "It is also loaded with a pound of rice, a pound of refried beans, and two pounds of French fries. Everything is then topped with a bunch of guacamole, sour cream, and then on the side, I do have a big bowl of their queso and some sides of their chilli Colorado and chilli verde," she added, explaining she had to finish all the sauces as well within the 45 minute challenge and win her free meal along with a T-shirt and the first spot of their Wall of Fame. She quickly started on the challenge, deciding to start with the decorative shrimp on top. "Oh, those are nice," she said after devouring the first one and quickly eating a second one. She then went on to dip one into the bowl of queso next to her, before saying it was just as good. After finishing off the scrimps, she shared her planned strategy, which was to start by cutting up a slice of each corner first, in order for the burrito to still have some support when eating it. She quickly devoured her first chunk of the burrito, before moving on to the other folded side, adding sauces to her bites as she went along. "So, delicious flavour aside, this was one of the more intimidating things that I've ever witnessed being built as a food challenge," Katina shared. "The more they kept piling inside this burrito, the more nervous I got and I began to realise exactly why this thing was undefeated. This thing was an absolute monster." However, Katina didn't have to go through the challenge alone, as the other people inn the restaurant kept cheering her on as she continued to finish her second cut of the burrito, marking she was half way through the challenge. However, the second half proved to be more difficult as the burrito now had open holes on both sides, leading to more of the fillings falling onto the plate below her. The longer she went on, the more sauce she added to her bites as she realised just how much of it she still had left. But she soon finished the last bites of the burrito, and moved on to pour the last of the queso out over the fallout bits on her plate to finish with a knife and fork. And with an impressive 15 minutes to spare, Katina finished the 'monster burrito' challenge, marking her the first to ever beat the challenge. While several people were impressed, with many cheering for her in the restaurant, some of the 29 million TikTok viewers took to the comments to express their thoughts. "Knowing the size of the human stomach this is terrifying," one person commented. A second person asked what happens after Katina finished a challenge, writing: "Serious question: do you have to wait a couple days to be able to feel hungry again?" Another person pointed out: "An 8lb burrito and 3 sauces in 29 minutes is like a pound consumed every 3 minutes." "You lost me at fries. I feel like they added those to fail people. No upstanding Mexican chef would add fries… maybe in a BREAKFAST burrito but not a dinner burrito," a fourth person wrote.
