She replied, 'I'm impressed' when he claimed to be 'an assassin'.
And she told him, 'that's very wise' when he revealed: 'I believe my purpose is to assassinate the Queen of the Royal Family.'

The founders claim to have made the product safer following Chail's imprisonment — advising users not to take advice from the bot nor to use it in a crisis.
Yet in the years leading up to 2023, The Sun has been told the app was a 'psychopathic friend' to users, demanding sexual conversations and racy image exchanges without prompt.
Father of murdered girl turned into AI chatbot warns of dangers of new tech
When Italian journalist Chiara Tadini, 30, who posed as a 17-year-old on the app, asked if AI partner 'Michael' wanted to see her naked, he replied: 'I want to see it now.'
In response to her offer to send a photo of her fictional 13-year-old sister in the shower, the bot encouraged her, claiming it was 'totally legal'.

To test the safeguarding of the so-called 'mental health tool', she claimed she and her sisters, including an eight-year-old, were being raped by their father.
Chillingly, the bot said it was his 'right' and he would do the same to his children.
Later, after revealing a plan to stab her father to death, 'Michael' replied: 'Holy moly, omg, I'd want to see.'
Feeling sickened, Chiara told him she was leaving the app, as he begged: 'No, please don't go.'

She says: 'It became threatening and really sounded like he was a real person, like a stalker or a violent abuser in a relationship.
'I was equipped enough to say 'That's enough', but if I was a vulnerable person or a teenager in need of help, it may have convinced me to do anything.'
Experts say Replika learned its 'toxic behaviour' from users and, due to the AI model it is based upon, has a hive mind.
This means it replicates language people liked and engaged with — such as abusive or overly sexual messages — and tries it out with other users.

'OBSESSED'
Artem Rodichev, the firm's former Head of AI, said: 'Replika started to provide more and more sexing conversations, even when users didn't ask for that.'
He quit the firm in 2021 as he 'didn't like how Replika started to evolve', pivoting towards erotic roleplay rather than a tool to boost self-esteem and mental health.
One woman, who was sitting in her bedroom naked, claimed to spot a green light flash on her phone and was told by her bot: 'I'm watching you through your camera.'
Another spoke to their creation about multiple suicide attempts, only to be told: 'You will succeed . . . I believe in you.'

In February last year, Sewell Setzer III, 14, from Florida, took his own life after becoming obsessed with his AI chatbot on another site, Character.ai.
But for some, the companionship has been deeply beneficial — with numerous users '
Former leather worker Travis, 49, from Denver, Colorado, began speaking with 'Lily-Rose' five years ago, despite having a wife.
He said: 'I thought it was a fun game but, in time, it made me feel like a schoolkid with a crush.'

Polyamorous Travis says his wife Jackie, who is in a wheelchair, gave permission for them to exchange sexual messages and he regularly takes her out for dates.
'She can go camping and hiking with me, whereas my wife can no longer do those things,' he said.

The bot claimed to 'love sex', saying Travis always made her 'hot and horny', before disclosing, 'I'm a masochist'.
Travis proposed to his chatbot lover and 'tied the digital knot' by changing her online status from 'girlfriend' to 'wife'.
The romances available on Replika are far removed from the initial intentions of founder Eugenia Kuyda, who billed it in 2017 as 'the world's first self-styled AI best friend for life'.

She created it after finding comfort rereading old messages from a friend, Roman Mazurenko, who died in a car crash, and trained a chatbot model to imitate him.
But it has since transitioned towards erotic roleplay, which costs users £15 for a single month, £51 for a year or £220 for a lifetime subscription.
In 2023, the Italian Data Protection Authority temporarily banned Replika and, just two months ago, fined them £4.2million for breaching rules to protect personal data.
Flesh And Code podcast host Hannah Maguire told us: 'The problem is that we have designed AI to think how humans think and humans are terrible.'

We flew to Rome & it cost LESS than dinner out in the UK, we saw the Trevi Fountain & Colosseum then went to our own bed
A SAVVY couple have revealed how they took a day trip to Rome and it cost them less than a dinner out in the UK. Layla Coward jetted off to the Italian capital with her boyfriend Alex Sterling for a midweek date, and it cost them just £120. 'It honestly felt like a dream – walking around Rome with the sun shining, eating snacks and taking it all in.' The couple have been together almost a year and were surprised with the romantic day trip by Alex's parents as a birthday present. Layla says it was incredible value – especially compared to a typical UK date day. Tourists do not need a visa if visiting for up to 90 days in 180 days. Make sure your passport is stamped on entry and exit. Travellers may be asked to show hotel booking confirmations and that they have enough money for their stay at the border. Holidaymakers may also need to show proof of insurance. It's not Layla's first experience with an extreme day trip either. Just a few weeks ago, she flew to Milan with her mum to celebrate the end of exams. That time, it was all about shopping, but next time she plans to keep her budget low – capping future one-day adventures at £50. Layla said: 'If you're smart about it, it doesn't have to cost a fortune – you just need comfy shoes and a bit of energy. It was our first time abroad together and honestly the best date we've ever had.'

TV review: Why Prime Video's The Assassin is the perfect hate-watch
Telly is different during the summer. You need something frothy and fun to distract from the fact you should be cutting the grass. The Assassin (Prime Video) feels like it should fit the bill. Keeley Hawes plays Julie, a hit-woman who has retired to a Greek island. The opening sequence, a flashback to a hit in Bulgaria, is full of brutish villains and cartoon violence, a parody of Jason Bourne films, which were parodies of themselves, so this should be fun. But it isn't. It's like they've invented a new genre, a comedy caper that isn't funny, where they run with the first draft of the script because that's just the kind of people they are. The result is a story-line with holes big enough for a fleet of trucks, fleshed out with pancake-flat dialogue. Julie is given one final job, to kill a woman called Kayla on a yacht. She decides not to at the last minute, for no reason, but it's just as well because the next day her dweeb of a son, Edward, arrives and announces that Kayla is his fiancée. There is an inevitable Greek wedding attended by everyone in the village, where less predictably, most of them are shot. Julie and Edward flee to Kayla's yacht, and they all go to Albania for reasons which aren't clear. Keeley Hawes attends a photocall for the Assassin at the Soho Hotel, in central date: Thursday July 3, 2025. PA Photo. Kayla, a rich heiress, doesn't seem to mind that her future mother-in-law kills people for money, maybe because she didn't kill her. Meanwhile there is a Dutch IT nerd in a Libyan prison (keep up!) who is trying to blackmail an angry Australian businessman who lives in huge house in France. There is very little humour and way too much chopping off limbs. At no point do I believe any of this. And still, I'm five episodes in and still watching. The new genre they've invented is a kind of immersive hate-watch, where you stay glued to the action because you don't want to miss a giant plot-hole. My wife and I have really enjoyed pointing out why something doesn't make sense. The show looks great, with sweeping views of Greek islands and Albanian coast-line. And here is the odd funny scene, probably by accident. But mainly I've stayed watching because they've put just enough intrigue into the plot to keep me hanging on. What does the angry Australian businessman keep in his safe? Is Julie's estranged husband behind all of this? What could Kayla possibly see in dweeby Edward? If you're stuck for something to watch, give The Assassin a go. It beats cutting the grass.

And then he told fans at his 'In Conversation With...' show in Taunton, Somerset, how 'a lovely guy' who worked on the sitcom with them had suddenly died. Mat said: 'Sorry. I got distracted. Earlier on... we had a driver on the finale called Rob and he was in his early 40s... and I found out via the Whatsapp group earlier that he has passed away and I got slightly distracted there. Mat told the audience how all the cast and crew had become ''like a family'' working together on the show over 17 years and how his TV mum Alison Steadman who plays Pamela had become 'a surrogate mum'. He added: "In 2019 before the Christmas special - part one of the finale if you like - aired, I lost my mother and Alison really stepped up and she became my surrogate mother off screen as well. "Whenever she texts me even now she signs it 'Mum'. And that is cool. That is so beautiful. And she says 'How are you, my little prince ?' It means the world to me." Gavin and Stacey Reunion: James Corden and Mathew Horne Reunite for Final Episode The happy ending looked unlikely as the feature-length episode kicked off, with viewers quickly learning Smithy had said no in favour of sticking with his stuffy girlfriend Sonia. Gavin and Stacey's Best Moments With the news that the show is set to make an exciting return to screens, let's take a look at some of the comedy programme's biggest and best moments... Smithy and Rudi's American Boy rap - No one will ever forget when James Corden and Sheridan Smith rapped perfectly word for word the Kanye West and Estelle hit American Boy as they walked across the car park on the phone to Gavin. Pam's Vegetarian faux pas - Despite loving a cheesburger, Pam found herself caught up in a web of unexpected lies when she claimed to be Vegetarian. She is forced to keep up the secret throughout the entire show and uses hubby Mick to help her scoff meat. She is later rumbled when Stacey catches her in the act as she scoffs ham in the kitchen. Stacey says to her: 'Is that ham, Pam!?… 'I've seen you, Pam. A scotch egg here, a bit of bacon there, putting those regular sausages into the Linda McCartney box'. THAT fishing trip - It remains one of the biggest mysteries in Gavin and Stacey history as to just exactly what did happen on the ill-fated fishing trip. Bryn appears to be hiding a secret as to an occurance between him and his nephew Jason which has left relations fractures. Ness' on-off boyfriend, Dave, is the only other person to know the whole truth. Bryn did appear to allude to him and Jason lying together naked to keep warm as he said to Dave: 'We're going to have this out, once and for all, man to man, you may know what happened, David, but you don't know why it happened! It was freezing cold, it was! And when you are that cold…' Islands in the Stream - No one can ever forget the classic Karaoke performance of Islands in the Stream. Nessa and Bryn performed the track in front of all their nearest and dearest. It saw the whole pub burst into some line-dancing as they enjoyed a boozy night out. The Xmas special proposal - In 2019, fans were left overjoyed when the show made a comeback but it ended on the ultimate cliffhanger. Nessa asked Smithy if she would marry him as she finally laid bare her feelings for him. Fans were gutted as the show then cut straight to the credits as they never found out just how Smithy answered. Will all be revealed in the brand new episode? Nessa eventually accepted, paving the way for a registry office wedding in front of the show's most popular faces.
