Speaking after inaugurating the centenary auditorium with a life-size statue of the late social justice warrior L Ilayaperumal, at Lalpuram in Chidambaram, Cuddalore district, Stalin said that leaders of the dravidian, Marxist, Gandhian, and Ambedkarite movements were on the stage united. "This unity symbolises Tamil Nadu. VCK president Thol Thirumavalavan emphasized this, and I reaffirm it. When Tamil Nadu is united like this, no saffron agenda from Delhi will succeed here," he said.

over years for the welfare of scheduled caste and scheduled tribes by the late DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi as well as by him, Stalin said, "In the history of Tamil Nadu, it is the dravidian model govt that implemented the highest number of welfare schemes for scheduled caste and scheduled tribe communities,'' he said.

Stalin said he would continue those efforts. "But are the steps taken so far enough? No.
To build a society of self-respect, we must continue our long journey. We are doing that. That's why we've decided to remove the word 'colony' from govt documents," he said.
"We've requested the Prime Minister that the disrespectful suffix 'in' used to denote official names of SC/ST communities be changed to the respectful 'ir' suffix. We've renamed school and college hostels to 'social justice hostels', removing caste identifiers," Stalin said.
Stalin said that everything will not change overnight. "The journey toward social liberation is long, and it takes time. But change will come. And I will bring that change," he said.
Later in the day, a govt statement said that Stalin has announced multiple projects for Cuddalore based on requests from the public during his visit including creation of Srimushnam taluk.

The ruling DMK president, M.K. Stalin, on Thursday called upon the party's district secretaries to help achieve the target of enrolling 2.5 crore members in the party in 30 days. Motha chief shares docu of land allotted to B'deshi man in Tripura
Agartala: The ruling BJP's partner in the Tripura govt, Tipra Motha founder and royal scion Pradyot Kishore Debbarman, on Thursday shared a document of land allotted to a Bangladeshi national in Tripura, fueling ongoing debate on illegal migrants. The land plot falls in the 6th scheduled area under Gomati district, which barred non-tribal possessing land, but it showed that one Bangladeshi national, Dilu Mia, was given settlement inside the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (ADC) area. Pradyot said the documents revealed Dilu Mia, son of Badshah Miah, was given allotment in 0.22 acres under Khupilang Mouza, at Killa revenue circle in Udaipur sub-division, which falls under ADC. The documents showed that the individual to whom the land was allotted had declared a Bangladeshi address. Moreover, he is not a member of a Scheduled Tribe (ST) community, raising further legal and constitutional questions about the validity of the allotment in a designated tribal area. "This would have triggered national outrage if it had taken place anywhere in mainland India. But because it's happening in Tripura, in the northeast, there is an eerie silence," Pradyot said. Meanwhile, ruling out Pradyot's allegation, a senior official of the state administration said, "The way Pradyot Kishore highlighted the particular case is not a fact. This is one of the enemy's properties, and under the possession of a tribal. As per law, allotment of enemy property cannot be transferred without following due procedure. The govt has recently taken initiative to deal with the enemy property, and the particular land was allotted in 1968. "

How will the AIADMK-BJP alliance influence vote conversion considering that cadres burst firecrackers when the allies split in 2023? I am not aware of celebrations with firecrackers. Election strategies must be tailored to the situation for a victory. What do you have to say about the perceived insults aimed at Dravidian icons Periyar and Annadurai during the Murugan devotees' conference? We have condemned videos defaming Periyar and Anna. How are you going to revive relationships with minority groups, especially after erstwhile allies representing the community have parted ways? Since its inception, AIADMK has been committed to minorities' welfare. It is false propaganda that they are against us. AIADMK is struggling to build a formidable alliance, having lost most of its allies since 2021. It is difficult to form an alliance against the authoritative power and money power of DMK. The AIADMK will overcome those obstacles and win. Why did you raise the issue of temple funds being used by HR&CE department for education given that MGR too took such initiatives? There is nothing wrong with using temple funds for education. Though colleges are functioning on temple funds, they will charge like self-financing colleges. Therefore, it is mandatory for poor students to pay higher fees when studying in HR&CE-run colleges. Running colleges is a recurring expense and the temple concerned must allocate a substantial amount every year. The state govt must take on the responsibility of higher education. Doesn't the govt have the funds to do this? Your thoughts on the state economic survey's findings, suggesting growth, high per capita income and employment opportunities. These are all publicity stunts. They don't seem to have made any such progress. Chief minister M K Stalin says AIADMK has no locus standi to comment on law and order. AIADMK that strives for welfare has the locus standi more than Stalin, who became CM with the only qualification of being Karunanidhi's son, and ruined law and order. Are we allies to remain mute spectators to the anti-people activities of the incompetent DMK govt? In a democracy, every citizen has the right to question anyone. But elected representatives and the leader of opposition don't seem to have the right. This is Stalin's understanding of democracy. How do you respond to the govt's assertion that the state's debt is well within the prescribed levels? Should we continue borrowing assuming the state's debt is within the prescribed limit? State govt debt in the 75 years since Independence until 2021 was Rs 5 lakh crore. DMK's borrowings in the past four years is Rs 4.5 lakh crore. The debt burden will exceed Rs 5 lakh crore by the time the DMK tenure ends. Is taking a loan an achievement?
