iPhone batteries dwindle over time, but there are three simple fixes you can do to improve battery health

This can be incredibly stressful for users, who might need Google Maps to get home or send an urgent text to a family member.
However, even if your device is a few years old, you shouldn't need to replace it just because the battery life has dwindled.
Instead, you should be able to improve its ability to hold charge with just a few simple clicks.
1. Turn Off Widgets
The widgets on iPhone lock screens, such as the weather or calendar updates, all run in the background and are constantly using data to keep them updated.
This means that they are draining power, even when you are not using your phone.
Turning off your widgets completely is the best way to save power, and the easiest way to do this is to switch to another lock screen, that doesn't have any widgets on it.
4
Click on your lock screen and then press 'customise' to remove widgets

To do this, simply press your finger down on your existing lock screen, and then scroll across to a lock screen that doesn't have any widgets.
Or, if you want to remove the widgets from your existing lock screen, you can hold it down, click on customise, tap on the widget box, and then delete any widgets that you don't want.
Reduce The Motion Of Your iPhone User Interface
The iPhone user interface uses animations, such as the pop of colour that appears when you activate Siri and the 'slam' effect that makes text messages seem to pop out of the screen.
Whilst these can be fun and entertaining, they are very draining for your battery.
'Supersonic' new battery fully charges phones in less than five minutes & users cry out to have that 'insane speed' now
If you want subtler animations, that use less power, you can use this by heading to Settings, clicking to Accessibility and then Motion and Reduce Motion.

Switch Off Keyboard Vibration
iPhones have a feature called "haptic feedback" which gives each key a vibration.
This feature was added to iOS 16 to give users a more immersive experience.
However, according to the Apple support page it "might affect the battery life of your phone."

Apple does not explain why this drains battery, but its best to turn this feature off if you're keen to conserve your battery.
Haptic feedback is not enabled by default, but if you have turned it on, you can easily disable the feature.

Simply go to Settings, Sounds and Haptics, Keyboard Feedback and then turn off Haptic.
If you want to check your battery health, you can do this by heading to Settings, Battery and then Battery Health and Charging.
This feature allows you to check your battery health percentage (anything over 80% is considered good) and will show you whether your battery is "normal."
When your battery health has begun to dwindle, you may be tempted to fork out for a new handset.
However, this can cost you hundreds, and means you are wasting an otherwise perfectly good phone.
Instead, head to the Apple store, and you can replace your iPhone battery for a much cheaper cost.

Apple Watch price slashed by £200 but you'll need to act fast

Apple Watch enthusiasts are buzzing over a new offer on Wowcher, which slashes the price of a previously costly device to a mere £99. The Apple Watch Series 5, although an older model in the company's range, remains a robust fitness smartwatch and is now even more affordable on Wowcher. Launched in 2019, the Series 5 boasts a Retina Display that continuously displays the time, messages, and calls. The gadget also includes SOS, crash detection, and a compass for added functionality. It comes with a charger and is swim-proof up to 50 meters, making it ideal for all your aquatic endeavours. However, bear in mind that as a 2019 model, it may start showing signs of age. For our free daily briefing on the biggest issues facing the nation, sign up to the Wales Matters newsletter here. Equipped with the older S5 chip, the watch still performs well, but shoppers might not have access to all the apps and features available on newer Apple Watches, reports the Mirror. Nonetheless, this Apple Watch will serve those looking to monitor their fitness and stay updated with their phone notifications perfectly well. Meanwhile, those seeking alternatives can find some fantastic bargains. Android aficionados can snag the excellent Galaxy Watch Ultra for £399 at Argos, courtesy of a fresh deal. It's Samsung's top-of-the-line watch, and one of the most competitively priced on the market. For Apple devotees, BackMarket is offering the Apple Watch Ultra for £424-and it comes with a 12-month warranty. Technology editor Dave Snelling remarked: "There's no question the Series 5 is the best Apple Watch that's ever been made. The new always-on display makes this feel like the device we've always desired, and the in-built compass is a nice added extra. "Like its predecessors, it packs a swathe of fitness and health tracking features, plus there's an option to have a fully connected cellular model, which means you can leave your phone at home without fear of missing a message or call. This is the most complete wearable on the market and Apple's rivals have a huge amount of catching up to do." Nevertheless, he encountered some issues - particularly concerning battery performance. He continued: "However, for all of its greatness, we do have some niggles with the Series 5. Not least the battery life and the fact that it doesn't look any different from the Series 4."
