Top 10 most valuable companies worldwide in July 2025: NVIDIA nears $4T market cap, overtook Microsoft & Apple

Top 10 largest companies in the world in July 2025: In the face of increasing global economic challenges and trade tariffs, businesses worldwide are focusing on growth and innovation. NVIDIA, led by CEO Jensen Huang, reached a historic market valuation of $3.92 trillion, making it the most valuable company in history, surpassing Microsoft and Apple.
Despite experiencing a loss of nearly $600 billion in market cap early this year with China's DeepSeek launch, NVIDIA's valuation exceeds the combined worth of the Canadian and Mexican stock markets, according to data from LSEG, while also surpassing the total market capitalisation of all publicly traded companies in the United Kingdom.
Presently, Microsoft holds the position of the second most valuable company, with a market capitalisation of $3.7 trillion, followed by Apple at third, with a market value of $3.19 trillion.
A competitive race among major players, including Microsoft, Amazon, Meta Platforms, Alphabet, and Tesla, to establish AI data centres and dominate this emerging technology sector has driven significant demand for NVIDIA's advanced processors.
Market capitalisation is an important indicator for investors and analysts, serving as a measure of a company's overall valuation and representing the total market value of its outstanding shares.
Companies with the largest market caps are widely regarded as the most valuable entities in the corporate sphere. Below are the top 10 most valuable companies by market capitalisation.
Notably, while the majority of the leading companies are based in the technology sector in the United States, the list also features Saudi Aramco, the oil industry giant headquartered in Saudi Arabia, and TSMC, a semiconductor leader from Taiwan.
In early 2025, Tesla, led by Elon Musk, briefly joined this elite group but fell to the 11th spot as of July 2025. Meanwhile, India's Reliance Industries Ltd saw a notable rise, climbing from the 73rd to the 52nd largest company in the world based on market capitalisation, early this month.

Elon Musk's new ‘America party' is ‘hurting' his company; Tesla Bull Dan Ives says, ‘Very simply…'

Tesla stock fell approximately 7% after the EV-making company's CEO, Elon Musk, announced his plans to form a new political party. This decline cost the company 68 billion in a day to become the most significant single-day drop since June 5, when it experienced a 14% decrease during Musk's public dispute with US President Donald Trump. Last week, Musk stated that the proposed party would be named the 'America Party.' He suggested it could focus on securing 'just 2 or 3 Senate seats and 8 to 10 House districts,' aiming to serve as a deciding vote on contentious legislation and ensure it aligns with "the true will of the people." Read what Tesla Bull Dan Ives said about Elon Musk's political involvement In a recently published research note by Tesla bull Dan Ives (seen by CBS MoneyWatch), the investor explained: 'Very simply, Musk diving deeper into politics and now trying to take on the Beltway establishment is exactly the opposite direction that Tesla investors/shareholders want him to take during this crucial period for the Tesla story. While the core Musk supporters will back Musk at every turn, no matter what, there is a broader sense of exhaustion from many Tesla investors that Musk keeps heading down the political track.' Musk's decision to launch the America Party comes at a challenging moment for Tesla. The company's electric vehicle sales dropped by over 13% between April and June compared to the same period last year. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Free P2,000 GCash eGift UnionBank Credit Card Apply Now Undo In Europe, sales plunged nearly 50% in April, despite overall growth in the region's electric vehicle market, as per data released in May by the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association. Musk's involvement in politics has previously raised concerns among investors. Earlier this year, his close work with the Trump administration on the 'Department of Government Efficiency' (DOGE) was seen by some as potentially detrimental to Tesla's brand image. He distanced himself from DOGE in May, a move that had a positive impact on Tesla's stock. However, his renewed involvement in politics is now causing concern among investors. Tesla Q2 2025 global sales down 13.5% despite updated Model Y rollout

The Tesla Model Y and Model 3 contributed to about 97 per cent of total sales for the carmaker globally (AFP) Notify me Tesla has announced a year-on-year fall in global vehicle deliveries for the second quarter of 2025, even as it launched improvements to some of its flagship models. In the three months ending June, the US EV manufacturer sold 384,122 vehicles, a 14 per cent rise over Q1 2025 but a 13.5 per cent decline versus the same period in 2024. Although the Q2 performance indicates sequential growth, the year-on-year decline suggests accelerating difficulties for Tesla to maintain its pace despite higher competition and internal turmoil. Model 3 and Model Y dominate lineup Most of Tesla's Q2 results were contributed by its mass-market models—the Model 3 sedan and Model Y SUV. Both models represented 373,728 deliveries, or 97.3 per cent of global total sales. This was an increase in their combined contribution from Q2 2024, when they represented 95.2 per cent of Tesla's sales mix. Also Read : France orders Tesla to end misleading claims about full self driving capabilities Tesla classifies its pricier models—the Model S, Model X, Cybertruck, and Semi—under an "other models" category. Those represented only 10,394 units in Q2 2025, which is significantly lower compared to 21,551 units sold during the same period last year. In spite of the worldwide rollout of the new Model Y, its contribution to sales appears to be contained thus far. In terms of the production of high-end and specialty vehicles (i.e., Cybertruck and Semi), deliveries are still muted, either due to production caps or a relatively lukewarm appetite for specialty products. First-half sales trailing previous year Cumulatively, Tesla delivered 720,803 vehicles through the first half of 2025, which lags the 830,776 units that were delivered in the first half of 2024. This downward trend comes after Tesla achieved record quarterly sales of nearly half a million units in Q4 2024. Headwinds from China and public sentiment Tesla's performance is also tested by rising competition in global markets. Chinese automakers such as BYD are quickly expanding, launching competitive electric vehicles at comparable price points. BYD itself, for example, produced 606,933 BEVs during the same quarter, out of a total of 1.12 million new-energy vehicles. Moreover, Tesla also maintains reputational woes. CEO Elon Musk's public political involvement, such as his brief alignment with Donald Trump's presidency, has affected investor sentiment and brand image. Apple dials down Liquid Glass effects in iOS 26 beta 3 amid readability concerns

Apple has released its iOS 26 developer beta 3, making further changes to the Liquid Glass design language introduced at its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2025 that was held last month. Liquid Glass, inspired by the reflective and refractive properties of real glass, was introduced across Apple's platforms as part of a broader visual modernisation. The update comes after an influx of user feedback raising concerns over earlier builds making interface elements harder to read due to excessive transparency. However, its early implementation in iOS 26 beta 1 led to usability concerns, especially in areas like the control centre, where the background was so translucent that home screen elements became visually distracting. Apple addressed those concerns in beta 2 by reducing transparency in the control centre. Beta 3 expands these adjustments to other parts of the operating system – notably the notifications and the interface in first-party apps like Apple Music. In Apple Music, the navigation bar now features a more solid background, reducing visual bleed from the underlying content. Similarly, notifications have had their background shading darkened, improving contrast and text readability. While the latest changes aim to improve clarity and accessibility, some users on developer forums and social media reacted negatively and have noted that the new aesthetic feels closer to Apple's earlier frosted glass approach, dialing back much of the dramatic transparency initially shown at WWDC. As the software is still in beta, these changes are not final. Apple is expected to continue collecting feedback and making changes to Liquid Glass through the summer ahead of iOS 26's public release this fall. It looks so much cheaper now and feels like Apple is backtracking on their original vision. — Sam Kohl (@iupdate) July 7, 2025 (This article has been curated by Arfan Jeelany, who is an intern with The Indian Express)
