Notre Dame's 2026 recruiting class features 3 NFL sons and will make you feel so old
After the son of former Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis, outside linebacker Thomas Davis Jr., committed to the Fighting Irish last fall, the school landed the sons of two more NFL standouts on Saturday.
Wide receiver Devin Fitzgerald, the son of future Hall of Fame receiver Larry Fitzgerald, and wide receiver Kaydon Finley, the son of former Green Bay Packers tight end Jermichael Finley, both committed to the Notre Dame the day after July 4th.
This photo with all three former NFL players and sons, all future Notre Dame players, is so cool. However, it will also make you sit quietly and contemplate the cruel passage of time.
Congrats to all of these future Notre Dame players and their dads, and continued respect to Father Time for making us all feel absolutely ancient.

Belichick hasn't coached in the NFL since 2024, but during games, Madden likes to reference dynasties, past history and other memorable moments to make gameplay more interesting. Despite Belichick's long history of NFL success, highlighted by eight Super Bowl Championships and 17 AFC East Titles, 2025 will be his first as a college coach. North Carolina reshaped a large part of its projected fall 2025 roster through the transfer portal, landed commitments from several touted class of 2025 and 2026 recruits, plus stole commitments from other programs. Though EA Sports' CFB 26 release is an exciting moment for many sports fans and gamers across the country, it's likely the least of Belichick's worries right now. Advertisement President Trump made it clear this week that he wasn't a fan of the Washington NFL franchise going away from the Redskins. He said that if he was running the team, he wouldn't have changed the name. 'You want me to make a controversial statement? I would,' Trump said to the reporter outside of Air Force One. 'I wouldn't have changed the name,' he continued. 'It just doesn't have the same — it doesn't have the same ring to me.' President Trump, though, admitted that one thing will make things better - winning. 'But, you know, winning can make everything sound good. So if they win, all of a sudden the Commanders sounds good, but I wouldn't have changed the name,' the president added. Advertisement Washington got rid of its Redskins name in 2020. NFL RB rankings: Arizona Cardinals RB James Conner snubbed from top 10
Conner did not make the top 10, based on evaluator votes, but he did get honorable mention. NFL training camps begin later this month. The Arizona Cardinals open theirs on July 22. That leaves just a little more time for some final lists and rankings. Leading up to camps, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler had scouts, coaches and team execs vote for the top 10 players at different positions. Arizona Cardinals fans would likely argue that starting running back James Conner should be on that list. Conner was snubbed, but not completely. While he did not crack the top 10, he did receive honorable mention with four other backs. "He's a load to bring down. Short strider with quick feet to slip tacklers, find slices of daylight.
