BBC drama Casualty is a fan favourite on Saturday nights but this weekend viewers won't be able to get their usual fix.
For the popular medical drama has been pulled from air on Saturday, July 5 as sport dominates the schedules.

Wimbledon 2025 coverage will be taking over the BBC One slot from 7.15pm until 10pm meaning the usual coverage has been dropped, including Casualty.

Although the medics advised her to take more time to rest, Stevie insisted on being ready to get stuck into work again. However, when the ED was flooded with overdose patients whose drugs were laced, she was rushed off of her feet.
Despite newcomer Flynn Byron (Olly Rix) informing Stevie he'd be with her on the shift, he quickly disappeared to deal with other emergencies.
It wasn't long before viewers were saying the same thing, with many thinking it wasn't the right time for her to be back.

One person said: "Sorry, Stevie. I don't think you're ready at all #Casualty" Another added: "Stevie being thrown into the deep end on Day 1 #Casualty."

Casualty is not the only programme affected as the BBC schedules have undergone a major shake-up this week due to Wimbledon and Women's Euro 2025 coverage as the big sporting tournaments get underway.

The One Show is taking a break for a month from its usual weeknight slot on BBC One at 7pm. During the last episode on June 27, host Alex Jones rounded it off by telling viewrs: "We are taking a bit of a break for the next four weeks and we'll be back on Monday, 28th July but there's plenty to enjoy like Wimbledon and the Euros."
Meanwhile, EastEnders moved to BBC Two last Monday and Tuesday when there were back-to-back episodes at 7pm and 7.30pm.
The daytime programming has also been shaken up to give over coverage to the tennis, with Escape To The Country being dropped from its usual 3pm weekday slot on BBC One.

Tennis star Iga Swiatek stuns fans with bizarre twist on Wimbledon classic strawberries and cream snack after reaching fourth round

Tennis star Iga Swiatek has surprised Wimbledon fans by sharing a photo on social media showing her unique twist on the classic strawberries and cream. The 23-year-old Polish star posted a picture of the unusual dish, featuring pasta mixed with fresh strawberries and yogurt. Swiatek explained: 'Come on guyssss, this is a Polish speciality,' revealing the combination is a beloved traditional dish from her home country. The former world No1 had revealed that it was going to be her celebration meal after booking a place in the fourth round of the Championships following a 6-2 6-3 victory over the USA's Danielle Collins. 'I have my favourite actually,' she said. 'I ate it as a kid. It is pasta with strawberries.' 'You should try it guys,' Swiatek continued. 'Pasta with strawberries and a little bit of yoghurt. It is just great.' Strawberries and cream have long been a beloved Wimbledon tradition, enjoyed by fans and players alike throughout the tournament. Millions of servings are consumed each year, making it an iconic part of the Wimbledon experience. On her victory, Swiatek added: 'I was just in the zone you know,' she told the BBC. 'I knew what I wanted to play and I knew I needed to be brave. 'You can't let Danielle play her winners, you know. 'Yeah [I am learning to love grass courts], honestly it is much more fun this year. 'I had some practices where the ball was listening to me which is pretty new on grass. 'I am just looking for that feeling during the match as well. 'For sure today was a good day, for sure it is giving me confidence and honestly, it is a new experience feeling good on grass.' Swiatek's best Wimbledon performance so far was reaching the quarter-finals in 2023, but after winning Roland-Garros four times since 2020, she had hoped to go further. Swiatek will take on Denmark's Clara Tauson on Monday for a place in the quarter-finals.
