Post Malone keeps going country at Coachella
Post Malone closed out the first weekend of this year's Coachella festival on Sunday night with a 90-minute performance in which he remade some of his smash pop-rap hits as down-home country jams.
Sauntering onstage holding a red plastic cup and a cigarette, the 29-year-old singer — who went Nashville in 2024 with the chart-topping 'F-1 Trillion' after years of dominating pop and hip-hop radio — opened his set with twangy renditions of 'Texas Tea,' 'Wow' and 'Better Now' that felt like they could've been performed at Coachella's country cousin, Stagecoach (where in fact Malone launched his country phase last year).
'I apologize for being pitchy,' he said later in the show. 'Auto-Tune is a hell of a drug.'
Dressed in tight jeans and a weathered ball cap, Malone put across his usual self-effacing vibe as he ran through oldies like 'Go Flex,' 'Goodbyes,' 'Lemon Tree' and 'Psycho,' the last of which had him yowling on his knees. He also did solo versions of some of the country songs from 'F-1 Trillion,' including 'I Had Some Help' (which features Morgan Wallen on record), 'Losers' (which features Jelly Roll on record) and 'M-E-X-I-C-O' (which features Billy Strings on record).
Despite his many friends in Nashville, Malone didn't bring out any surprise guests on Friday — a decision in keeping this year with his fellow headliners Lady Gaga, who brought only her producer Gesaffelstein, and Green Day, whose set featured no guests.
Before jumping into the crowd to shake fans' hands as he finished his set with 'Sunflower,' Malone gave a little motivational speech to introduce his song 'Congratulations,' telling the audience that he remembered when a 'lot of motherf—' were calling him a one-hit wonder.
But just look at him now, he seemed to be arguing: a rapper who'd made himself into a country star at pop's most important music festival.

Earlier this week,Yung Leanrevealed the imminent release of his first book. Entitled256 GB, the book compiles, you guessed it, 256 gigabytes of content from Lean's iPhone hard drive from 2014 through 2024 – selfies, screenshots, notes, and other candid images included. Totalling 574 images (and 594 pages from front to back), the book is divided into nine color-coded chapters, with each spanning about 50 or so pages: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, black, and white. Housed in a black bound casing complete with red embossed lettering and a matching silk ribbon, the book opens with a title page, on which Lean lists the different iPhone models he shot the contents of 256 GB on: 6, 8, X, and SE. To close out, Lean leaves a note that reads: 'I buy a lot of phones and lose a lot of phones. I spend more time in hotels than in the places I live in. It feels like collecting these photographs and memories. I hope it will be a bigger photograph of my life and maybe bring some inspiration and love to some. This is what I try to do.' Justin Bieber's Inner Circle is ‘Deeply Concerned About His Behavior,' Says Source
It was supposed to be a happy occasion filled with gifts, homemade cards and a nice meal. Instead, Justin Bieber spent much of his first Father's Day as a dad flooding his Instagram with cryptic rants on his personal account. His initial post featured a close-up selfie with a middle finger graphic and a caption reading, 'I'm a dad that's not to be f**ked with.' He went on to share images of his wife, Hailey, holding their 10-month-old son, Jack, at a piano, then posted a heated text exchange between him and a former friend in which he cut the pal off, writing, 'this friendship is officially over. I will never accept a man calling my anger lashing out.' In between posts featuring a bong and what appeared to be a marijuana joint, he shared an emotional note that read: 'People keep telling me to heal. Don't you think if I could have fixed myself I would have already? I know I'm broken.' As the rants went on and on, fans continued to express concern in the comments section. But no one is more worried about the 31-year-old 'Peaches' singer than those closest to him, including his wife of nearly seven years. 'Everyone in Justin's world is deeply concerned about his behavior,' a source tells Star. 'It's as unpredictable and worrisome as it's ever been.' Indeed, Justin's flurry of unhinged Instagram messages comes on the heels of his June 12 altercation with paparazzi. In footage obtained by Page Six, the former child star engaged in a yelling match with photographers outside of Malibu hotspot Soho House. As Star previously reported, Hailey, 28 — whose recent $1 billion sale of her beauty brand Rhode has been overshadowed by Justin's behavior — wants him to get professional help, stat. 'It seems inevitable he'll need to seek help and do so fast,' says the source. 'The path he's currently on is toxic and totally untenable.' The Canadian singer began spiraling earlier this year. There was speculation he was on drugs following his February appearance at a Rhode event with Hailey, where he was seen swaying and smiling strangely. (His rep denied the reports to TMZ.) In a March Instagram post, he mused about his 'anger issues' and said, 'I hate myself sometimes when I feel myself start to become inauthentic.' The following month, Page Six reported on a video circulating on social media that showed him looking dazed and smoking what appeared to be marijuana while attending the Coachella music festival in Indio, Calif. Also in April, The Hollywood Reporter published a story about his involvement with the non-denominational Christian community Churchome, and TMZ reported his former best friend Ryan Good believes the star is in a cult. (In a since-deleted post shared on Instagram in April via People, Justin announced that he was no longer affiliated with his clothing brand Drew House, which he cofounded with Ryan.) The source says the pressure and isolation that come with fame have worn Justin down. 'He's been performing since he was a kid and used as a vehicle to make money for people in the industry, which has taken a mounting toll on him for years now,' says the source. Justin previously vented about his struggles in a 2019 Instagram post, revealing he suffered from severe depression and that he'd started doing 'pretty heavy drugs' at age 19, writing, 'I was hiding behind a shell of a person that I had become.' Hailey is overwhelmed. 'She's in the middle of this huge business deal and trying to take care of baby Jack,' says the source. 'All she wants right now is a calm and peaceful life.' It's been anything but since they tied the knot. In 2022, she even told Harper's Bazaar their marriage 'does take a lot of work.' Says the source: 'Hailey's strong, but she's finding it hard to keep making excuses for Justin.' It doesn't help that he's shutting everyone out. As Hailey encourages him to get help, she doesn't want to push him too far. 'The way he's turning on people who stand up to him has Hailey worried he'll do the same to her and walk away from their marriage,' says the source, noting that while Justin has checked in with his pastor and spiritual advisor Judah Smith, any words of wisdom are falling on deaf ears. 'Some of Justin's lifestyle choices — like smoking copious amounts of weed — are making it impossible for him to process advice clearly.' They're not giving up on him yet. 'It's a painful time, but Justin has a lot of people in his world who care about him deeply,' says the source, 'and they will be there no matter what.'

‘Right place, right time': Post Malone pays for others' drinks at Boston bar
It's somewhat serendipitous that one of Heleena Norvette's favorite Post Malone songs is 'Pour Me a Drink' because the global superstar paid for hers during her birthday festivities last weekend. Norvette was celebrating her 41st birthday when Post Malone covered her tab — and everyone else's — while the 'Circles' singer grabbed a drink at Blind Duck at Raffles Hotel in Boston on Friday night, May 30. 'We couldn't believe that a star like him of his magnitude was in just by himself really at the Raffles,' the finance manager and socialite told MassLive. 'We just happened to be at the right place at the right time.' The 'Sunflower' singer 'stood out like a sore thumb' because of his signature tattoos and cowboy hat. 'He was with one other guy. She added that Malone was 'willing to take photos with people,' but she and her friend decided to play it cool and tried not 'to be a groupie' despite Norvette being a big fan. Malone's kindness was exemplified when Norvette got her bill, which the 'Better Now' singer had already paid for. He did the same for the other 10 people who were in the bar during the short span of time that Malone was there. 'You hear some celebs are real a**holes and then some are amazing and you just never know,' Norvete said. 'But he was being so nice and cordial to everybody and it showed when he cleared the bill for everyone.' Norvette added how Malone paying for her birthday drink was 'such a great start to my new year.'
