'Oasis mania led me to my hubby - our wedding guests were baffled by our theme'
A mum of two says not only could she be the world 's number one Oasis fan - but she probably wouldn't have clicked with her hubby if it wasn't for their shared love of the band.
Sian Downes, 36 of Hawick in Roxburghshire, Scotland, has seen Liam and Noel Gallagher play 20 times (together and separately), and has the Britpop band to thank for clicking with her 'mad fer it' hubby who is just as infatuated with them as she is.
It must have been written in the stars because Sian is now married to Mark who she met on Tinder and they have two children together.
"I met my hubby on Tinder, we both had Oasis in our profile, and we both feel incredibly lucky to have found someone who is such a fan," she tells The Mirror.
The couple bonded after hubby Mark asked her if she preferred Liam or Noel because he'd read her declaration of love for the band on her profile.
Sian wrote him an essay in response and was surprised to find that, not only did Mark not run a mile, but he was also in a Noel Gallagher cover band.
When they got married six years later they had an Oasis-themed wedding and decorated their house in the band's merchandise. Sian even tracked down an exclusive replica of Noel's Riviera guitar as a wedding present for her new hubby.
And she has even named her business Strawberry Lemonade after falling in love with the lyrics from Oasis song Talk Tonight - the B-side of Some Might Say.
"I've always loved the lyric 'all your drinks are made of Strawberry Lemonade,' so when I started thinking about doing my own thing I always knew it would be centred around that," she adds.
"I thought maybe a wedding blog, maybe I would be a wedding planner but I finally settled on being a corporate events agency called Strawberry Lemonade Events.
"Our tag line is 'Events Made Sweeter' because behind all this we are actually a social enterprise where we help people facing social exclusion get into work. So that adds the sweetness.'
Oasis have been a huge part of Sian's adult life but it was decades earlier that her love for the band first started to unfold. 'I was probably about nine when I got into them,' she recalls. 'I had the greatest hits of 1998 album, they featured on that, and I was hooked.
"I love the great music and the songs you can lose your mind and your voice to. It's the perfect balance of rock 'n' roll and beautiful lyrics. I've been to see them around 20 times - separately and together - but this reunion gig will be special because it just never ever seemed like it could happen.
"And the fact that every brand under the sun wants in on the action - Land Rover, Adidas, Levi - I've even seen Gusto giving away free lasagne which shows what a huge monent in pop culture this is.
'I'm hosting a pop up in Edinburgh to tie in with their gigs there. I've partnered with a local bar to mark the occasion, where we'll have photo opps and will be hosting our own chat show. Some semi-famous Scottish folks will be coming down to have a pint and chat about their love for the band. I am actually emotional about the whole thing and am beside myself with excitement."

The subtle change to the Oasis set list during the band's second Cardiff show
The subtle change to the Oasis set list during the band's second Cardiff show Liam switched things up for the second Principality Stadium show There was a small addition to the set list during Saturday's performance (Image: GETTY ) The much anticipated return of the Gallagher brothers finally happened on Friday, July 4 as Oasis performed on stage for the first time in 16 years. They also took to the stage on Saturday for their second Principality Stadium gig. Noel and Liam Gallagher reunited in Cardiff over two nights for the first and second night of the Oasis Live 2025 tour. Since the tour was announced fans across the world had been eagerly awaiting any detail announced from the band regarding the show. This included the set list that was confirmed following the first show in Cardiff. However a small change was made on the second night as an unexpected song was performed. The original set list for Friday, July 4 includes: Hello Acquiesce (What's the Story) Morning Glory Some Might Say Bring it on Down Cigarette and Alcohol Fade Away Supersonic Roll With It Talk Tonight Half The World Away Little by Little D'You Know What I Mean? Stand by Me Cast No Shadow Slide Away Whatever Live Forever Rock 'N' Roll Star The Masterplan Don't Look Back in Anger Wonderwall Champagne Supernova However, fans who went along to the second night of the tour noticed a slight switch up as Liam sang a song that was not included on Friday. Whilst you might be wondering which Oasis tune they added in, it was in fact another iconic band's hit which Liam sang instead. During their performance on Saturday night, Liam sang a couple of lines of Octopus Garden, a classic song by The Beatles. Whilst Oasis have left Cardiff behind, they now head to Manchester followed by more cities in the UK and across the globe as the tour continues. Looking to bag some last minute tickets? Article continues below Tickets for the Oasis reunion sold out across all venues due to huge demand when they went online earlier in the year. However, there are still several options available for fans trying to snag a last-minute spot. Limited last-minute tickets can be bought from the official Ticketmaster resale site, where fans who can no longer go sell their seats, although these tend to go into and out of stock quickly. Elsewhere, resale sites like Viagogo, Vivid Seats, StubHub and Twickets are selling tickets for various dates with prices from £121, although fans should always bear in mind that many official sites, such as Ticketmaster and Live Nation, discourage the purchase of resale tickets.

Noel Gallagher's ex Meg Mathews clarifies early exit from Oasis gig amid Wonderwall performance
Meg Mathews has addressed the speculation over her leaving the Oasis reunion gig early on Friday night Noel Gallagher's ex-wife Meg Mathews has addressed the speculation surrounding her decision to leave Oasis' concert prematurely on Friday night during Wonderwall - a song purported to be about her. The ex-IT girl, who parted ways with the Oasis guitarist 25 years ago following the birth of their daughter, Anais, joined the hordes of devout fans at Cardiff's Principality Stadium on July 4. However, as Noel struck the opening chords of the iconic Wonderwall, Meg was seen exiting the venue, prompting rumours that listening to the track Noel penned for her might be too much to bear. Addressing the whispers, Meg took to Instagram to assure there was no hidden tension, writing: "I just want to set it straight. I left before the encore to get my car. I have left 100s of stadiums at the end and it's been carnage. "And yes, I heard Wonderwall loud and clear outside. Thank you. I was not being rude or bored." The early departure of Meg, who was married to Noel from 1997 to 2001, raised eyebrows as potentially having stirred old emotions for the mother-of-one, having been cited by Noel as the muse for the hit. Claiming the anthem was penned on a dreary Tuesday night thinking of his then-partner, Noel reminisced in 1996: "It's about my girlfriend, Meg Mathews. She had a company which folded and she was feeling a bit sorry for herself. "The sentiment is that there was no point in her feeling down, she has to sort my life out for me because I was in bits at the time." Oasis enthusiasts were in high spirits as they witnessed the iconic reunion between Noel and his brother Liam after an agonising 16-year wait. And ahead of the highly anticipated gig, Meg shared a heartfelt moment between Noel and his daughter Anais. The video showed the young Gallagher warmly hugging her dad before he electrified the sold-out crowd of 75,000. The tender interaction was caught on camera by Meg, who affectionately captioned the video with, "Love you Nai Nai." At 25, Anais revelled in the concert atmosphere, which attendees have hailed as 'euphoric,' sharing a photo online clutching a pint and donning an Oasis T-shirt, alongside the caption: "It's good to be back." A host of celebs attended, including Two Doors Down star 'Grado,' EastEnders actor Danny Dyer and Line Of Duty star Vicky McClure. TV presenter Vernon Kay also made an appearance, posing for photos outside the stadium. After delivering an electrifying two-and-a-half-hour set alongside his brother Noel, Liam expressed his gratitude to the audience, saying: "Nice one for putting up with us over the years. We are hard work, we get it."

As The Sun travel desk's resident foodie, I could hardly resist trying the UK's fanciest buffet, also one of the world's most expensive. The Grove Hotel in Hertfordshire went viral earlier last year when TikTok foodies discovered its Glasshouse restaurant where everyone dines en masse, but in five-star luxury. It even featured in Netflix's 'Million Dollar Buffet' documentary with Grace Dent. Costing a whopping £82 per person at the weekend, there is certainly enough to choose from. After several, overly-generous spoonfuls of caviar, a few servings of beetroot-cured salmon and seven superbly crafted sushi rolls, decorated with dainty herbs, I felt I'd made a good dent in 'getting my money's worth' – a statement that had been thrown back and forth between my buffet partner, Mum, and I. So the real question is: is it really worth the cash? It's a thought that's difficult to get out of my head, even though, as a self-proclaimed foodie, I'd normally spend at least this amount on a boozy dinner with friends. But £82 does feel like a lot for what I'd previously have defined as 'just a buffet'. Although, if you visit for dinner mid-week, as opposed to the weekend, you can knock £17 off this price. I'd planned what I thought was an adequate two and a half hours to properly tackle that evening's dinner, but an extra hour would have been more appropriate if I wanted to take it at a more relaxed pace – and squeeze in an extra few hundred calories. Isn't that what buffet dining is all about? Still, despite the steep price, I think I'll be booking a table for my birthday next year – and this time I'm aiming for five plates instead of four. 9 In 2023, the resort celebrated 20 years since it opened and also received a plethora of awards Credit: The Grove These include NATO's 70th annual meeting.
