Monaco CEO clarifies Eliesse Ben Seghir transfer stance
L'Équipe reported towards the end of the last Ligue 1 campaign that the forward felt frustrated towards the end of the season as he began to play a more bit-part role, often off the bench. He did, nonetheless, make 46 appearances in all competitions and played at least some part in 33 of Monaco's 34 matches in Ligue 1.

Perhaps it was in response to this frustration that Monaco CEO Thiago Scuro defended Adi Hütter's usage of the player. 'At the end of last season, he had a vision that doesn't reflect the reality. He played more than 2,000 minutes, which is a lot. He scored lots of goals and made lots of assists. It is our job too to show that the plan is going on. A football career is a process, not an act,' he said in a press conference attended by Get French Football News.
'I think Ben Seghir's prime is to come' – Scuro
Scuro then set out the Principality club's stance on a sale this summer. 'He is a special talent, a special player. We have the intention to keep developing him here. I think his prime is to come. It is our intention that he stays,' said the Brazilian.
Ben Seghir had been attracting interest from Manchester City, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, and Bayer Leverkusen, all of whom made enquiries.

Aura Announces S&P Global Upgrades Outlook to Positive B+ Rating on Larger Scale and Financial Performance
ROAD TOWN, British Virgin Islands, July 21, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Aura Minerals Inc. (Nasdaq: AUGO) (TSX: ORA) (B3: AURA33) ('Aura' or the 'Company') today announced that S&P Global Ratings has upgraded its outlook on the Company's global and national scale credit ratings outlook to positive from stable, while affirming its B+ global scale long-term issuer credit rating and 'brAA' Brazilian national scale rating. According to S&P, the upgraded outlook reflects several key factors: (i) the U.S. listing should allow accelerated growth for Aura without any increase in leverage; (ii) Aura track record of constructing small to medium projects and successfully turning around older assets; and (iii) record high gold prices that are propelling free operating cash flow amid the company's significant expansion capital expenditure (capex) program. Over the next 12 months, S&P also indicates the possibility of an upgrade if the company succeeds in growing its scale, namely with the ramp up of Borborema, integrating Serra Grande, and starting another project in that timeframe, while it keeps gross debt to EBITDA below 2.0x. However, there can be no assurance whether S&P will take such action with respect to our ratings in the future. The full report can be accessed on the S&P website or on the Company's investor relations website at . Manchester City defender will not be moving to Girona despite reports
Despite recent claims in Spain, Manchester City's Vitor Reis looks set for pre-season training with the club as normal this summer amid links to Girona. The Brazilian defender has been the subject of significant transfer talk in recent weeks, with Girona widely reported to be targeting a deal for the teenager ahead of the forthcoming 2025/26 campaign. Those reports from journalist Nil Sola suggested that the La Liga club had identified Vitor Reis as a priority defensive signing, with City Football Group channels working behind the scenes to finalise a season-long loan. It was also suggested that the 19-year-old himself had been open to the idea of gaining senior European experience with Girona, given the fierce competition for centre-back minutes at Manchester City and the need for regular development at his age. However, new information appears to have shut the door on that possibility – at least for now. Reis, who joined Manchester City from Palmeiras in January for a fee of £29.6 million, has featured sporadically in contests but is believed to have made a strong impression among staff. The next stage in that development process, it seems, will remain within Manchester – with the club now preparing for his involvement in pre-season activities over the coming weeks in the build-up to a big season for the club. According to the information of journalist Andre Hernan, Manchester City's Vitor Reis is not leaving the club for Girona this summer, despite reports linking the Brazilian with a loan move to the La Liga side. It is claimed that the 19-year-old centre-back will report back to Manchester City training as usual later this month ahead of pre-season, with assurances over an absence of negotiations with the City Football Group club. With Reis now expected to remain in Manchester, attention will turn to how involved he becomes in Pep Guardiola's early pre-season fixtures and training camps, including the Palermo friendly on August 9. The inclusion of Reis in those sessions could offer a clearer indication of how highly he is rated internally. There also remains the possibility of a loan move later in the window, with several clubs across Europe likely to monitor the player's status depending on how the summer progresses. However, for now, the immediate plan is for Reis to remain close to Pep Guardiola's squad, potentially even pushing for minutes during Manchester City's pre-season calendar depending on his physical and tactical readiness. The decision to keep the Brazilian in Manchester, rather than placing him in Girona's competitive environment, suggests a more hands-on development strategy from City's staff. Whether that results in competitive senior involvement this season or a future loan to a different club remains to be seen, but any Girona switch appears off the table for now.

Brunno Ferreira hopes he proved he's 'not just some knockout artist' at UFC 318
Brunno Ferreira wanted to show he's dangerous in all areas. NEW ORLEANS – Some might say a win is a win, but that's not how Brunno Ferreira operates. The Brazilian middleweight wanted more than getting his hand raised Saturday at UFC 318. Ferreira (14-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC) was determined to show he's dangerous beyond his striking and did so when he spoiled the debut of Jackson McVey. Ferreira submitted McVey (6-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) with an armbar in the first round of their contest. "I think people saw today that I'm not just some knockout artist," Ferreira told MMA Junkie and other reporters at a post-fight news conference. "I'm a finisher, as well. There are two very interesting fights in the division. I think it's just fair and valid for me to pay attention to these fights and perhaps wait for one of those winners (at UFC 318)." The other middleweight winners on the card were Ateba Gautier and Brendan Allen. Ferreira didn't specify which name interested him the most, given those matchups came after his post-fight presser with the media. Either way, Ferreira hopes to get booked fairly quickly. He feels healthy and plans to begin training this very same week. "As many times as the boss wants," Ferreira said when asked how much he'd like to fight in 2025. "I just came out unscathed. Just give me like four days to rest, and I'm just going to go back into training and just be ready to fight soon."
