The planned maintenance is scheduled for Monday, 7 July, from 9:00 – 20:00.
The City of Cape Town said planned maintenance work will result in water supply disruption to these areas:

Sea Point promenade and Granger Bay upgrade complete
The City of Cape Town recently announced that its upgrade of the Sea Point promenade and Granger Bay parking area has finally been completed. According to the City, the project, which began in May last year, had been delayed due to the poor performance of the previous contractor. The prolonged construction, initially given a 12-month deadline, was pushed back until now, with Sea Point's Granger Bay parking and landscaping upgrade now ready for use. 'We thank residents for their patience while the works were under way and apologise for the prolonged construction period. Residents from across Cape Town can now enjoy the newly upgraded Granger Bay parking area and landscaping.' the City's Deputy Mayor and Mayoral Committee Member for Spatial Planning and Environment, Alderman Eddie Andrews, said. 'The completion of the footway and coping at the Rocklands Beach is still due for repairs in the coming months pending a structural assessment of the concrete slab supporting the footway. We will keep residents informed of the progress,' Alderman Andrews added. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 021 1. Cape Town announces a 9-hour power outage in these areas
The City of Cape Town notified Gordon's Bay residents about a planned electricity supply interruption on Wednesday, 16 July. The power outage from 7:40 to 17:00 is necessary for Eskom to maintain essential infrastructure. City officials stressed that only areas indicated on the official power outage map will be affected. 'It is important to note that the interruption to supply will only impact the area on the map and only on the relevant date,' said the city in its public advisory. The city has provided a link to the map detailing affected zones to assist residents with preparations. The city has urged residents to cautiously approach the power outage and treat all electrical installations as live throughout the scheduled work. The city warned that power may be restored earlier than expected, which could pose a risk to unattended appliances. 'Customers must please treat all electrical installations as live for the full duration of the planned maintenance work,' the city advised. Residents are also recommended to unplug or switch off all appliances during power outages to avoid damage from power surges when electricity is restored. This warning comes amid growing concerns about the risks of equipment failure during sudden power returns. In anticipation of the scheduled work, the city thanked affected residents for their patience and understanding. 'The City thanks residents for their cooperation and understanding,' the statement read. Although the power outage may cause some inconvenience, officials emphasised that the work is critical for maintaining and improving the reliability of the local power supply. All efforts will be made to complete the task within the planned time frame. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 021 1.
