But the parallels between Disney's Jilly Cooper adaptation and the new programme, called Nobody's Fool, don't end with ITV's choice of hosts.
A TV insider said: 'Rivals is the story of a web of rival individuals which is spun around a stately house, Penscombe Court, and their efforts to constantly outdo one another.
'That's exactly the basis for the new gameshow, which also has the background of a country pile and sees all the competitors try to outwit one another.
'Those in the know are already describing it as: 'A game of intellect and deception' which could be the catchline for one of Jilly's novels.'
In Rivals, which debuted last year, Emily played an MPs saucy wife, Sarah Stratton, who was caught playing naked tennis with sexy lothario Rupert Campbell-Black at his country house.
The scene caused such a stir it was nominated for Bafta for the top TV moment of the year.
Meanwhile, Danny plays self-made millionaire Freddie Jones, who's trapped in a loveless marriage, but finds romance elsewhere.
The second half of Jilly's book, first published in 1988, is now being turned into a second series which also airs in 2026.
Which could be particularly awkward if both shows drop around the same time…

Now the actor's sporting a more refined look to play Tommy Lynley, a police detective in new BBC One thriller, Lynley, which drops this autumn.
The four-parter, which also stars Daniel Mays and Sofia Barclay, is an adaptation of best-selling crime novels by Elizabeth George.
All the action is spurred on by the dynamic between central character Tommy, who comes from a posh background, and a working class sergeant, Barbara Havers, played by Sofia.
Together the 'mismatch' turns them into a formidable crime-fighting partnership…plus Sofia can always spot Leo if he ever starts hitting the gym again.
HAPPY Gilmore 2 has gone straight to the top of the Netflix trending chart.
The sequel has been released nearly 30 years after the original, the highly anticipated sequel to the cult 1996 comedy Happy Gilmore sees Adam Sandler reprise his role as the golfer at the heart of the comedy.
APPLE TV+ has renewed Stick for a second season.
The golfing comedy drama is exec produced by Owen Wilson and also sees him play Pryce Cahill, an over-the-hill, ex-pro whose career was derailed prematurely 20 years ago.
Then he finds new purpose after meeting a troubled 17-year-old golfer called Santi.
PADDY'S SUNDAY BLUES
PADDY McGUINNESS has had, erm, a bit of a paddy after not being able to sail into his own BBC Radio 2 show.
The comedian, TV presenter and DJ revealed security at the entrance of the Salford studios refuse him entry unless he shows his work pass.
Shortly after kicking off his Sunday morning show last week, Paddy took to the airwaves to moan: 'How long have we been doing this show? It's been over a year, actually.
'I'm just wondering when security are going to know it's me.
'I'm not even bothered about them recognising me off the telly, or anything I've done throughout my career.
'Just the fact that I come in every Sunday for a year and a bloke still wouldn't let me in this morning.'

Chelcee Grimes' new girlfriend looks just like Christine McGuinness as they go official
Singer-songwriter Chelcee Grimes has gone public with her new girlfriend, who looks very similar to her famous ex-partner, Christine McGuinness Chelcee Grimes has revealed who her new girlfriend is, and she looks very similar to her famous ex-partner. The singer-songwriter who has written for the likes of Kylie Minogue and Dua Lipa tends to keep her personal life rather private, but has gushed about her partner on social media. However, the 33-year-old footballer has now confirmed that she's in a new relationship following her split from executive producer Amelia Farhang, whom she stated dating last year. But now, the Liverpudlian has confirmed her romance with Rachel Slade, taking to Instagram to document parts of their romance. Chelcee, shared clips of Rachel taken on a lavish holiday as she posed alongside the swimming pool in a bikini, before another clip of Rachel running along the golden sands of the beach. Elsewhere, she posted another clip of Rachel dancing while the pair enjoyed a night out together. It comes after Cruz Beckham 'steals' his dad's tiny white trunks and family have epic response. The post was met with the caption: "I have 2 girlfriends," documenting Rachel in various ways, including different fashion senses. Captioning her post, Chelcee penned: "Not sure which one I prefer... What do you think?" Her upload, which has been liked over 500 times, was soon flooded with comments. Patrice Evra joked: "We all got many personalities." While Rachel replied: "I don't understand the question." Another person laughed: "They work well together please don't split the pair." "They're both my fave," said another. Meanwhile, Rachel bears a very striking resemblance to Chelcee's ex, Christine McGuinness. But both Chelcee and Christine have remained very quiet about their past, with Chelcee briefly opening up about dating publicly. Speaking last year, she said on the Taboo Talk podcast: "Yeah, I think... y'know they're the only ones you know about to be honest," about her high-profile romances. She went on to add: "There's been a couple. "It's the job I'm in. It's the industry I'm in. It's where I'm gonna meet people. Yeah it is weird." Both Chelcee and Christine met while competing on ITV's The Games in 2022 and instantly struck up a close bond, and were seen kissing one another in December of that year. The pair were also seen kissing at Winter Wonderland in London's Hyde Park in the same year, before locking lips again during a holiday in Ibiza just several months later. Meanwhile, earlier this year, Chelcee's romance with her ex Amelia seemed to "fizzle out". Speaking to the Daily Mail, a source said: "Chelcee's romance with Amelia fizzled out and they decided to go their separate ways. To friends, it would seem as though they haven't ended on the best terms because they're no longer in contact and have unfollowed each other on Instagram. "Amelia has been sharing cryptic Instagram posts on her latest holiday, which would suggest their relationship didn't end well." Meanwhile, Christine has previously hinted at her romance with Chelcee. The Blackpool-born star admitted that her now ex-husband, Top Gear star Paddy, and her family had all known about her sexuality throughout her marriage. Christine and Paddy, 51, announced in 2022 that they had decided to separate after 11 years of marriage. Speaking on the How To Fail podcast, Christine, who also appeared as a guest on The Real Housewives of Cheshire, was asked if she would label her sexuality. Despite hesitating, she insisted that she is a "free spirit." "No, and again, I've thought about it," she commented. Christine added: "A lot of people always ask me, are you a lesbian? Are you bisexual? Are you what? Is this a phase? "I've always been quite a free spirit. I think that's the only word I would put on it. When I was a teenager, I'd dated boys and girls. 14/15 was probably when I had my first kisses with, with both, and I never felt it was anything different or a big deal." But while she's had "situationships," she and her partners have never put labels on their relationship status. "My experiences with women have been lovely, and it's not like women are better or worse," she told broadcaster Elizabeth Day.

Love Island fans beg producers to axe star from villa after 'uncomfortable' row
Love Island viewers slammed the series after watching an 'uncomfortable' row between a couple following a recent challenge Love Island fans have begged producers to remove Dejon from the show after they watched his 'uncomfortable' row with Meg, with some accusing him of 'gaslighting' her. In last night's episode of the ITV2 programme, the Islanders took part in a game called Knowing Me, Knowing You. Each contestant was given a board to write down answers and the goal was for each couple to match with their partner's answers for each question. Many of them, including Shakira and Harry, did well but Dejon was annoyed after he and Meg gave differing answers on the first question. The boys were soon asked which girl they would have coupled up with if their partners weren't in the villa. Meg was shocked when Dejon chose Yasmin despite the previous tension between them. It comes after the ITV show was hit with over 9000 Ofcom complaints. They later discussed his answer by the fire pit, and Meg claimed he never shared this information with her before. He claimed he previously told her about his attraction towards Yas, but Meg disagreed. He soon asked her why she was "trying to make him look bad". Fans said their row, during which he insinuated she was doing it all for the cameras, was 'hard to watch' and rushed to social media to call him out on his attitude towards her. "As a collective, lets report Dejon to Ofcom, scary man," one user said and another posted: "I don't like meg in the slightest but that conversation where he manipulated, gaslighted and dismissed her was so so so uncomfortable and hard to watch. get this man out!" One concerned user wrote: "Dejon steamrolling conversations and I need meg to find her voice. Don't like her. Don't support her. &&& that man is scary. But she can fight girls all day but not her man? Get the man out of the villa." "'Blu tells dejon that meg isn't that popular outside the villa and suddenly dejon is picking fights with her," one fan pointed out. Another added: "Dejon is very very very CALCULATED. Without fail every episode, he either mentioned camera's, causes a scene or makes sure it looks like him & Meg are winning couple material." Meanwhile, tonight's episode will see Meg and Dejon fall out over the previous night's challenge again after she discovers Yas was initially going to write Dejon's name down as well. Tensions remain high while the boys are tasked with cooking up a storm for date night.

Reality TV couple take major step in their relationship amid ongoing feud with TV star ex – and she won't be happy
A REALITY TV couple have made a major step in their relationship as their romance continues to heat up. Love Island star Abi Moores and her MAFS hunk boyfriend Nathan Campbell have been dating since February of this year but now they look set to make things even more official with a huge gesture. 5 5 5 The Sun can exclusively reveal the pair will be moving in together in a plush pad in West London. Their decision to take things up a gear comes amid the ongoing jibes from Nathan's MAFS ex Lacey which exploded at this year's National Reality TV Awards. A source told The Sun: "Things have been going really well for Abi and Nathan since they started dating earlier this year and so moving in together felt like a natural step. "They are already expecting to have some reaction from Nathan's ex Lacey and her constant jibes on social media but they don't care what she thinks. "Abi and Nathan know they are the real deal and can't wait to be living together under the same roof. "Having their own luxury pad together means they can block out all of the noise and get on with their lives." The couple look set to make the big move this weekend with plans to share updates on their new home across their social media channels. News of their big move comes after they had an awkward run-in with Nathan's MAFS ex Lacey at the NRTAs. Onlookers were left stunned when Lacey appeared to launch into a huge rant about Nathan in front of their co-stars in which she continually insisted she was "living in his head rent-free". One eyewitness told The Sun: "It was clear there was no love lost between them and even Lacey's co-stars were stunned as she went on a sweary rant about her ex." MAFS UK's Nathan reveals first date with Love Island star Abi Moores almost ended in disaster as they go public with romance The Sun previously told how Nathan and Abi were kept apart from Lacey inside the ceremony after being seated on different tables. As Nathan cosied up to his girlfriend, organisers were forced to separate him from Lacey by seating him on a different table. A source told The Sun: "Lacey and Nathan had to be kept away from each other at the National Reality TV Awards. "It was chaos as he was supposed to be on the MAFS table but she wouldn't have sat there if he was there. "He was all over his girlfriend Abi, so they had to be sat at a separate table." Nathan made Abi his girlfriend earlier this year with a lavish proposal as well as presenting her with a stunning ring - in a scene that would not look out of place for an official engagement. 5 5
