With the dust settled on the Galaxy S25 Edge launch, and considering the next pitstop in July — where the Galaxy Z series phones are unveiled — it's pretty safe to say that the next major launch in the smartphone world will be the iPhone 17 series. Apple's next-generation devices are expected to be unveiled in September, and while we are still a few months away, the leaks and rumours have already given us a fair idea of what to expect. As if the design leaks over the past few months weren't enough, we now also have case leaks — which are being claimed to be the actual cases for all the upcoming iPhone 17 models.advertisementAccording to tipster Majin Bu, via a post on X (formerly Twitter), the iPhone 17 cases for all models — i.e. the 17 Pro Max, 17 Air, 17 Pro, and the standard 17 — have leaked in all their glory. The tipster even claims that you can pre-order the cases by sending them a message, which is quite an interesting thing to ask, considering we are still about four months away from the expected launch, and anything can change in between. That said, the tipster does have a pretty good track record when it comes to Apple leaks, so there's a fair chance we're looking at the real deal.Looking at the cases, the leak also confirms what to expect from the design of the next-generation iPhone 17 models. We have already seen a bunch of iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max leaks, and the cases confirm both phones' massive camera bumps. Even the iPhone 17 Air — which has been heavily featured in the rumour mill — has a case that confirms it may come with a bar-like camera island, akin to the Pixel phones. The iPhone 17 case is the most interesting of the bunch, and not for the right reasons — because its case also suggests that the phone may very well retain the look of the iPhone 16, with a vertical dual-camera design. However, the iPhone 17 and 17 Pro case sizes seem quite similar — does this mean the iPhone 17 may also feature similar dimensions as the 17 Pro? Maybe a similar 6.3-inch screen size, thus ditching the 6.1-inch screen from the iPhone 16?advertisement
As always, until anything's official, we'd suggest taking every leak and rumour with a healthy grain of salt.From what we know, the iPhone 17 series is said to be the biggest upgrade to iPhones in several years. The square camera island design of the Pro models is finally expected to be replaced by a rectangular one in the 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max. The iPhone 17 Air is said to replace the Plus models — much like how the Plus models replaced the Mini line with the launch of the iPhone 14 series. Will the move pay off? Guess we'll get to know by the end of the year.Probably the biggest talking point is the presence of a ProMotion 120Hz display. It is heavily rumoured that all iPhone 17 models — including the standard 17 and 17 Air — will feature a 120Hz refresh rate screen. It's been a long time coming. If it does finally materialise, will the standard models also get the Always-On Display feature? Only time will tell.As mentioned above, the iPhone 17 series is expected to launch in September later this year. In terms of price — if everything goes well and if the tariff war between the US and China is settled in some form by then — expect Apple to price the 17 series similar to the 16 series, i.e. $799, $899, $999, and $1,199 for the 17, 17 Air, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max, respectively. Similarly, in India, expect these prices to be Rs 79,900, Rs 89,900, Rs 1,19,900, and Rs 1,34,900, respectively, for the 17, 17 Air, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max.Of course, nothing has been officially confirmed by Apple.
