Neena Gupta
, who will soon be seen in the film 'Metro... In Dino', shared that she was pleasantly surprised to learn how important her role is in the story. In a recent interview, she said that since she shot her scenes in parts, she didn't realize the full impact of her character.
So when she found out her role was quite significant, she felt happy and thrilled.
Talking to IANS, the actress said, "We did it in small parts. In Mumbai, Calcutta, here and there. When I did the dubbing, I told my daughter, 'Masaba, my role is quite good. It is a big role. I thought it was a small role. I was very excited."
Earlier, actress Neena Gupta recalled a moment on the film's set when she was all prepared to give her shot but was suddenly asked to go back to her van. She shared that director
Anurag Basu
is very instinctive and full of ideas, often making changes right up until the last minute before the camera starts rolling.
"Once we came on the set for shoot as the production team called us on the set. We were told to go back in the van, and that it will take some time. So I saw Dada in the hall where the shoot was going on. He went into a corner. And he sat there somewhere. So I asked, 'What happened to Dada?' The assistant said, 'He wants to think'. So suddenly he wanted to think about something," revealed the actress.
Anurag's fresh ideas
Neena Gupta shared that Anurag Basu carries the full script in his head and often brings fresh ideas right before a scene. She said the best part of working with him is his spontaneous style and on-the-spot improvisation.

'Metro... In Dino', directed by Anurag Basu, will hit cinemas on July 4, 2025.

Somy Ali believes in Tanushree Dutta's allegations of being harassed at home: 'Her mental health...'
Actress Somy Ali, who has always supported actress Tanushree Dutta, this time too, she believes in her after Dutta alleges of being harassed at home. Somy, who runs a US-based NGO called 'No More tears' and works to save and rehabilitate victims of domestic abuse and rape, claimed that she believes Tanushree as she has lived on the other side of silence. Tanushree Dutta's Mental Health Somy told IANS, 'Tanushree spoke of being harassed. Of being gaslit. Of a spy planted as a maid in her home, of attempted poisoning, of systematic defamation, and of rampant misogyny disguised as stardom. Some in the media ridiculed her. Others discredited her mental health. But what few dared ask was: What if it's true? What if Tanushree's story isn't an outlier but a rule?' Somy Ali supports Tanushree Dutta She stressed that Bollywood has long suffered from a toxic immunity culture, where powerful men are treated like gods, and survivors are treated like liabilities. 'I know. I was once part of that world. I've witnessed women offered 'auditions' that weren't about acting. I've seen women ostracized for saying 'no.' I've watched survivors suffer mental breakdowns while the perpetrators received national awards,' Somy added. She went on to say, 'And yet when someone like Tanushree dares to lift the veil, the collective response isn't support, it's damage control. Public relations machinery goes into overdrive. Character assassination begins. Anonymous sources leak half-truths. And worst of all, the survivor is pathologized. 'She's paranoid.', 'She's unstable'. 'She's imagining things.' It's the oldest trick in the abuser's playbook.' Tanushree Dutta is telling truth… Somy further stated that although Tanushree's claims might seem irrational, it is possible that she is telling the truth. On Tuesday, Tanushree posted a video on social media where she was seen weeping and asking for help. She was heard saying, 'Guys, I'm being harassed in my own home. I'm being harassed in my own home. I just called the cops. I got worried and called the police. The police came'. 'I'm sick and tired of this harassment!! It's been going on since 2018 #metoo Aaj fed up hokar maine police ko call kiya (I got fed up and called the cops). Please someone help me. Do something before it's too late,' Tanushree added. Tanushree Dutta on receiving threats like Sushant Singh Rajput In her interview with TV9, Tanushree Dutta also mentioned the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, saying that what happened to him is now happening to her. She stated, 'The people who are after me are connected to Nana Patekar and his Bollywood associates. They are the ones who have sent people to follow me. I suspect them. People would come to the hotels where I was staying and knock on my room door to harass me. On several occasions, I was even poisoned, and attempts were made to kill me by making me ill – but I survived.' Tanushree Dutta further said, 'The maid who worked in my house was also involved, as she used to mix something in my food. Because of that, my health kept deteriorating. I would remain unconscious for 17–18 hours at a stretch. They tried to drive me insane and kill me.' In an interview to News18 , Dutta urges the government to provide her security. 'This mafia is huge and dangerous, and I fear for my life just like Sushant must have', said the actress.

Why Did Kiran Dubey Disappear From TV After Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi? Actor Reveals
Last Updated: Actor Kiran Dubey spoke about her long break from TV after starring in key roles in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii. Veteran actress Kiran Dubey opened up about her absence from television after her roles in the iconic shows like 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi" and 'Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii." Sharing her journey, she reflected on the reasons behind stepping away from the spotlight and how the decision shaped her personal and professional life. In an exclusive interview with IANS, Kiran revealed that she wanted to take some time to explore herself and to understand herself better. When asked about her sudden disappearance from the industry despite being part of iconic shows, the actress stated, 'Yes, I've done many shows, including some of the top ones. But I've always felt that my life should be a priority. I wanted to take some time to explore myself—my life and my spirituality—and to understand myself better. After working nonstop for nearly a decade, I felt it was necessary to step back for a while." Kiran Dubey also shared what inspired her to make a comeback after so many years. '5th September is a very special film. It's actually the first Bollywood film made entirely in Uttarakhand. While many films have been shot there, this one is written, directed, and produced by Kunal Malla, a native of Uttarakhand and an educationist. It was a blessing to work with such a talented cast—Sanjay Mishra ji, Brijendra Kala ji, Kavin Dave, Deepraj Rana, Sarika Singh, and Kunal himself. New talents like Malleha Malla and Rishabh are also part of the film." 'I play the school therapist, a character with multiple shades, which makes it a very beautiful and important role. Though the screen time is limited, the depth of the character is truly meaningful. This is my first Hindi film, and it's one of the reasons I've returned to Mumbai," revealed Kiran Dubey.
