Princess Kate sneaks in cosy cuddle with William during French state visit

Daily Mirror4 hours ago
The Prince and Princess of Wales looked as loved up as they found time for several tender moments during the first day of the French president's visit to the UK
Prince William and Princess Kate shared several secret loved-up moments during the first day of the French state visit. As the Prince and Princess of Wales joined to meet the French president Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte, the royal couple stole a brief moment of intimacy.
William and Kate met with Macron at the RAF Northolt before heading to Windsor Castle, where the French leader received an official welcome and later joined King Charles to inspect the Guards of Honour. As the official welcome ceremony began, William and Kate were snapped having a sweet moment together, as William held his wife's hand in support as she walked down the stairs.

The royal couple then stood together under a marquee as the inspection of the guards took place, as Kate put a loving hand on William's back while she smiled brightly at her husband.
The small but charming moment caught the attention of royal fans, who were quick to comment on the rare intimate exchange on social media. One fan wrote: 'Such beauty, character & class. They are a charming couple', while another person added: 'What a sweet moment they shared!'
Others were quick to point out the stark contrast between the loved-up royal couple and the seemingly tense Macrons, who have had a number of awkward moments on the first day of the state visit.

In only a matter of hours on the first day of the state visit, French president Emmanuel Macron was seemingly snubbed on two separate occasions by his wife Brigitte.
As the couple disembarked their private jet, Brigitte rejected taking her husband's hand to steady herself on the stairs, instead using the handrail and ignoring Emmanuel's help.

Later in the day, as the Macrons walked into Windsor Castle alongside King Charles and Queen Camilla, Emmanuel once again reached for his wife's hand in an affectionate moment, only to be dismissed once more.
Today marks the first day of the three-day state visit, with Macron and Brigitte also joining King Charles and Queen Camilla for a viewing of the Royal Collection exhibition at Windsor Castle later.

The King and president will both deliver speeches at a state banquet this evening in the medieval St George's Hall at the Castle, where some 160 guests will be seated at the elaborately decorated 50 metre table, which will run the full length of the vast room.
Macron's trip marks the first state visit to the UK by an EU head of state since Brexit, and has also saw Macron address parliamentarians in the Palace of Westminster's Royal Gallery and, on Thursday, he will join a UK-France Summit at Downing Street.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer has signalled a "reset" in relations between the UK and Europe as he looks to heal the wounds caused by the Brexit years.
Defence, growth, security, migration and French tactics on tackling small boats will be discussed, with the two leaders expected to dial in to speak to other allied nations who are looking to support any future peace deal in Ukraine.

The Rolling Stones' front man was joined by his fiancee Melanie Hamrick, while Crocodile Rock singer Sir Elton was accompanied by his husband David Furnish for the opulent royal celebration. Other notable invitees who turned out for the glittering banquet with Charles, the Queen and the Prince and Princess of Wales were actress Dame Kristin Scott Thomas, former England goalkeeper Mary Earps, who now plays for Paris Saint-Germain, authors Joanne Harris and Sebastian Faulks, sculptor Sir Antony Gormley and Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and his wife Lady Victoria Starmer. Sir Elton, who has severe vision issues after contracting an eye infection, was seated next to his husband, rather than apart which is usually the custom for couples at royal banquets. On Sir Elton's other side was the Duchess of Gloucester, while Sir Keir was next to footballer Ms Earps. Also making an appearance was First Dates' Fred Sirieix, as well as the French singer Mika, who was sat next to the Duchess of Edinburgh.

Love Island star reveals they are expecting a child in surprise update as they share adorable photos

Love Island star Theo Campbell revealed he is expecting a child in a surprise update on Tuesday. The hunk, 35, who first entered the villa back in 2017, shared a series of adorable photos to Instagram to announce the happy news. In a stunning photoshoot with his girlfriend Olivia Kaiser, 33, they posed by a lake with Olivia displaying her growing bump. The couple, who competed together on MTV's The Challenge: Battle of the Eras last year, revealed their baby is due December 5. They captioned the update: 'Our sweetest little secret. We've been enjoying some time off the grid — embracing the quiet, the love, and the magic of what's to come. 'Now it's time to let you in on the journey… Our little one is arriving soon.' The news comes one year after the couple first went Instagram official with their relationship. Theo also shares a son called Aries, who was born in February 2021, with influencer Sapphire Yhnell. At the time Theo revealed he 'wasn't expecting' to become a father at his age as he discussed becoming a parent for the first time. The reality star, who was 29 at the time, said that he had thought he'd wait until he was '35 or 36' before having children but that being a dad 'isn't as scary as he thought it would be'. Speaking on FUBAR Radio with hosts Bobby Norris and Brooke Odun, he opened up about his son. He said: 'Do you know what? I wasn't expecting it at first. I've always said, I was going to wait until I was 35, 36 and then just knock out three in a row. 'But it's not as scary as I thought. I thought it was the hardest thing in the world, the scariest thing, the biggest thing. It is the biggest thing, but it's not that hard. It's not that scary, you know?' The star kept the pregnancy a complete secret until the birth, something which 'wasn't easy', but admitted that he's pleased he was able to do so. Theo went on to explain that Sapphire, who is also mum to five-year-old son Tai, lives with their son in Wales. He said: 'My baby, he lives in Wales and I live in London. So on Sunday's I have to travel 130 miles, about two hours.' He revealed last year he was set to appear in the show's All Stars spin-off but was axed just hours before entering the villa. Theo even filmed the show's glossy promo before reportedly being downgraded from the main cast to a bombshell and replaced by fellow hunk Luis Morrison. He slammed the producers for 'wasting his time' on Friday in a since deleted social media post. Taking to X, formerly Twitter, he shared a clip of Kaz Kamwi following her shock dumping from the villa on Tuesday - amid the show's diversity row. Theo wrote: 'Imagine wasting 5 days of your life after being pursaded to start LI [Love Island] filming and the rest, for them to say a day before you're supposed to flay out, nah just come in 2 weeks... huh? No thanks'.

State banquet – including special cocktail – in spirit of Entente Cordiale

The King has also turned to his friend and King's Foundation ambassador, French chef Raymond Blanc, to put together the menu in culinary collaboration with the Royal Household, designing the first course and the dessert. Blanc was in the kitchens at Windsor on Tuesday evening making sure the dishes were served to perfection for President Emmanuel Macron, his wife Brigitte and the 160 guests including Charles, the Queen and the Prince and Princess of Wales. The Prince and Princess of Wales are among the guests (Benjamin Cremel/PA) The menu, which was written in French as is the custom for state banquets, begins with a selection of tender summer vegetables from the Gardens of Le Manoir with Sage, Raw Tomato and Extra Virgin Olive Oil Dressing. The next course is Supreme of Rhug Estate Chicken with Norfolk Asparagus and Tarragon Cream, followed by Iced Blackcurrant Parfait on a Blackcurrant-soaked Sponge with Elderflower Jelly for dessert. Buckingham Palace described the collaboration as being 'in the spirit of the Entente Cordial'. In a tradition started by the King, a cocktail has also been created specially for the occasion, this time called L'entente. It combines British gin with lemon curd and French pastis, garnished with dried French cornflowers and English roses. The wine list was Domaine Evremond, Classic Cuvee, Edition I, NV; Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru, Etienne Sauzet, 2022; Chateau Haut-Brion; 1er Grand Cru Classe Pessac-Leognan, 1996; Louis Roederer, Carte Blanche, NV. The English sparkling wine will be used for the toast. After dinner, guests will be served Taylor's 1977 Vintage Port and a 1948 Grande Champagne Cognac by Frapin & Co, selected to reflect the years of the President's and the King's births in 1977 and 1948. Delicate seasonal flowers including roses, sweet peas and herbs in a colour scheme of pale pinks, purples and white decorated the table, handpicked from the gardens at Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle, along with flowers and lavender from The Savill Garden in Windsor Great Park, all arranged in silver-gilt centrepieces taken from the Grand Service. The castle's staff began constructing the mahogany table last Wednesday, and it now set with the elaborate silver gilt Grand Service. The hall's gothic style ceiling with impressive oak beam roof is studded with the coats of arms of every single Knight of the Garter since the order was founded in 1348. Its walls and ceiling were decimated in the Windsor Castle fire of 1992 and had to be painstakingly rebuilt. Following the state banquet, the King and Queen and the Macrons and guests will move to the Music Room for a performance by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales.
