#SHOWBIZ: Rozita Rohaizad honoured with Anugerah Seniwati Negara
The daughter of the late screen legend Mariani Ismail expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the association's gesture, describing it as a fitting tribute to all veteran artistes.
"Thank you so much, DPDDM. It's my first major award, and I'm genuinely surprised to have received it," Rozita told Harian Metro in an interview yesterday.
Rozita, who was attending a graduation ceremony for acting students organised by Cinta Events & Entertainment when she received the accolade, was recognised for her significant contributions to promoting Malaysian music on the global stage.
The singer, renowned for her hit song "Bila Ku Merindu", highlighted that the award signifies the deep appreciation many Malaysians have for the sacrifices made by veteran singers and actors, particularly those less familiar to the current generation.
"All of us worked tirelessly on our music, dramas, and films without expecting huge rewards. May the current generation of arts enthusiasts remember our dedication and truly value our work," she said.

Photos: Chandni Bainz/Instagram, Ishaan Khatter/Instagram The relationship between Bollywood actor Ishaan Khatter and Malaysian-born model Chandni Bainz has become a hot topic as the two are frequently seen spending time together. Although there has been no official statement from either party, their closeness has fuelled speculation that they are romantically involved. Previously, Ishaan has said that he rather not share too much about his romantic relationships as he prefers the focus to remain on his career. Although the brother of Shahid Kapoor is keen to protect his partner's privacy, he seems to be open about showing affection publicly "I think it's very important to respect your partner's privacy as well. When something is good for me, I want to protect it. That's my instinct. I don't want to hide or lie or anything like that,' the son of actors Rajesh Khattar and Neelima Azeem reportedly said. At the same time, the 29-year-old actor also acknowledged that it's difficult to prevent people from taking photos when he's out with his partner. 'I won't stop living my life. I won't stop going out to eat if I want to – life goes on. "I act for the camera, but I can't live for the camera,' he explained.

#NSTviral: KJ triumphs in boxing debut against ex-world Muay Thai champion
KUALA LUMPUR: Hot FM radio presenter Khairy Jamaluddin's dream of stepping into a boxing ring came true when he defeated former world number one Muay Thai fighter Saiful Merican in a friendly match yesterday. The bout, held at ST Rosyam Mart in Jalan Kebun, was part of Hot FM's Clash of Champion event and drew a crowd of over 300 spectators. Khairy, affectionately known as KJ, said he was grateful to have claimed a memorable win over the 37-year-old mixed martial arts (MMA) star. "Since I was a child, I've always been passionate about boxing and grew up watching Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard, and Mike Tyson. "I've always wanted to step into a boxing ring, and I never imagined I would get the opportunity today. "To face off against a highly respected martial artist like Saiful 'The Vampire' Merican — it's truly an honour," he said. The friendly match had reportedly been in the works since last year, but only materialised on Sunday. Khairy, who has known Saiful for some time, described sharing the ring with the Malaysian MMA athlete as a meaningful experience. "He gave me some room in the first two minutes, but when he punched — he really punched," he added with a smile. Khairy also expressed appreciation to everyone who made the match possible, including his coach and his son, Jibriel Ali Jamaluddin, who served as his cornerman. Aside from the headline bout, the event also featured a match between Hot FM's Bekfes presenter AG and Adli Goldenboy, which ended in a draw. Another crowd favourite was a friendly arm-wrestling match between presenter Fara Fauzana and singer Elizabeth Tan, with Tan emerging victorious.
