Coronation Street legend takes shocking action to stop wife from leaving him

Metro2 days ago
A Coronation Street legend has taken shocking action in tonight's episode to stop his wife from leaving him.
Things have been tense between Kevin and Abi Webster (Michael Le Vell and Sally Carman) for a few months, for several reasons.
Abi's PTSD took a toll on the family earlier this year, and Kevin's testicular cancer diagnosis rocked them even further.
The arrival of Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) has also proved an unwelcome distraction, with the mechanic determined to get it on with his sister-in-law.
In tonight's episode, Abi was left furious when Carl insisted she help him with a call out instead of accompanying Kevin to his appointment, where he'd receive news on how his cancer had reacted to his chemotherapy.
Abi was fit to burst with rage when she found Carl in the garage with his feet up, and ranted about missing Kevin's appointment.
Her anger did nothing to deter Carl from trying it on with her once more though, before she stormed out after coming close to giving in.
When she returned, she revealed that if Kevin got good news from the hospital, she planned to tell him that she needed a break – though she made it very clear that this changed nothing between her and Carl.
When Kevin returned home, after confiding in Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) that he didn't think Abi was happy, he began to tell Abi his test results.
Getting the impression that it was good news, Abi admitted she had something to tell him, and that it was going to be very difficult.
With Debbie having pointed out that Abi would say something if she was unhappy, Kevin instantly sensed where the conversation was going, and quickly interjected to change the tone.
He explained that, while his cancer hadn't spread, it hadn't responded to treatment, so he'd need more chemotherapy. More Trending
This stopped Abi in her tracks as she pushed aside her plans to ask for a break.
However, it later became clear that Kevin had lied, when Dr Gaddas congratulated him on getting the all-clear.

Man bought £1,500 container filled with £60,000 worth of Pokémon merch

A man who took a gamble on a storage unit found it was filled with thousands of pounds worth of Pokémon merch and retro gaming consoles. The 39-year-old man behind the YouTube Channel, Wades Venture, snapped up the 10ft by 20ft container in an online auction. To his delight, it was stuffed with old PlayStations, Xboxes and Nintendo 64s, as well as other retro gaming consoles he valued at £60,000 – 30 times the £2,000 he paid to unlock the unit. He also found a treasure trove of around 1,000 Pokémon cards, organised in a thick binder and stored immaculately in cardboard boxes. 'They're from the 1990s,' he said. 'So these are the old ones, the desirable Pokémon cards.' He added that the collector must not have played with them as they were in near-perfect condition, with some kept pristine in the original packaging. The YouTuber makes a living documenting and reselling his findings in abandoned storage units and has gained almost 200,000 Channel subscribers. While thumbing through stacks of the rare cards, Wade said: 'I've been doing this ten years. I find these 1990 cards. But I've never found any that old and in this good condition.' He said he even washed his hands prior to handling them to preserve their near-flawless condition. Wade has started selling the items and has already flogged some of the Pokémon cards, earning $6,000 – or around £4,400. After purchasing the unit for $2,000 – the equivalent of around £1,500 – he has already made a profit of close to £3,000. More Trending Wade also uncovered boxes of Nintendo DS consoles, Game Boys, PlayStations, an Atari game console and controllers hand-labelled with their model numbers, as well as countless retro games – with some sealed in their original plastic. While digging through the stacks of gaming consoles, he said to viewers: 'Who'd have thought? This is crazy. 'Maybe we should play some Mario.' ITV Coronation Street fans 'work out' Lisa Swain's turmoil after Carla Connor's appearance

Coronation Street fans believe they have worked out the reason for Lisa Swain's turmoil on the ITV soap, after her partner Carla Connor made a desperate appearance. Coronation Street fans have voiced concerns for Lisa Swain, suspecting they have pieced together the cause of the beloved character's looming turmoil. DS Swain first graced our screens in 2021 on the ITV soap. She was at the forefront in leading the police probe into the attacks on Nina Lucas and Seb Franklin, which tragically resulted in Seb's death. She subsequently faced backlash from Daisy Midgeley when the police failed to apprehend her stalker Justin Rutherford. ‌ This came before he orchestrated a horrifying acid attack on her wedding day, leaving Ryan Connor with permanent scars. She was later seen pursuing serial killer Stephen Reid, who was ultimately run over and killed by Peter Barlow on the ITV soap. ‌ She then found herself intermittently involved in the case of manipulator Joel Deering, due to the solicitor's connection with her daughter Betsy, reports the Manchester Evening News. However, since becoming deeply entangled in Weatherfield life last year, Lisa has been on an emotional rollercoaster, resulting in her falling for Underworld factory boss Carla Connor. After finally giving in to their blossoming feelings for each other last year, the couple brought in the new year together. However, their happiness was short-lived when Carla was suddenly hospitalised and diagnosed with sepsis. Consequently, she required a kidney transplant, leading to a series of events that reintroduced Carla's brother, convicted murderer Rob Donovan, into their lives, resulting in an armed standoff that ended up with Lisa's daughter, Betsy Swain, being accidentally shot. Once it was confirmed that Betsy would recover, Carla and Lisa experienced tension due to Betsy's injury, which was later revealed to be a ruse when the paralysis subsided. ‌ The family began to rebuild their relationship, but Lisa's recent heartbreak over colleague PC Craig Tinker's death tested them once more as it reminded her of her late partner Becky, who also died on duty. This led Lisa to unexpectedly propose to Carla, who declined. Lisa felt rejected until Carla clarified that she wanted a proposal born out of love, not grief, and even flirted with the idea of a future wedding in Ibiza. In a form of compromise, the couple decided to move into their own home together, with Betsy's approval. Fans are speculating that they'll soon call No.6 Coronation Street their family home, following Yasmeen Nazir's departure earlier this year. ‌ However, it seems more drama could be in store for the pair as Carla and Lisa actresses Alison King and Vicky Myers were seen filming scenes for the long-standing show. Lisa was spotted in a state of distress, sitting solo at the park's edge, until Carla came across her. Eager to offer comfort, Carla approached her visibly upset partner. But the question remains, what has shaken Lisa to her core? ‌ Coronation Street fans are aware that Lisa is due to take part in a therapy session soon. The detective sergeant had previously declared her intention to seek counselling after a Drag Night at the Rovers, earning Carla's admiration and her confession of being "very proud". This development follows the tragic death of Craig and Lisa's subsequent relegation to desk work after arresting Brody Michaelis, who then experienced an epileptic seizure in his cell when he declined to disclose the contents of the pills found on him. Upcoming spoilers for Coronation Street indicate that Carla will endeavour to persuade Lisa of the benefits of therapy, despite Lisa's reservations. Although hesitant, Lisa goes to her therapy appointment, but is left reeling when the therapist proposes discussing her late wife Becky. ‌ While the connection between these storylines remains uncertain, Corrie fans have been speculating about the potential implications, concerned that Lisa might be on the brink as she confronts her past with Becky. One fan speculated: "Lisa having a psychotic episode and starts seeing Becky. Lisa had photos of Becky's blood on her phone. But maybe the guilt of getting engaged sends her over the edge and starts to see Becky as a ghost? #swarla." ‌ Another wrote: "2 Part Theory -Lisa is hallucinating Becky. The therapy triggers it. Lisa can see Becky's physical form but Carla can't. -They're visiting Becky's gravesite but notice things have been disturbed #Swarla." A third quipped: "what if lisa ends up in psychosis and starts seeing becky but becky is haunting her asking her why she never picked up her phone the night she died." Someone else added: "Kinda like the theories that Lisa is seeing Becky rather than her being alive, it would go with the mental health story."

Coronation Street legend ‘can't wait' as she announces new role

Coronation Street legend Kym Marsh has announced her next role – and it isn't a return to the cobbles. When Kym announced her exit from BBC school drama Waterloo Road earlier this year, Corrie fans began theorising that she would return to the ITV soap – though it appears this isn't the case. Instead, Kym is set to tread the boards once more as she takes on the lead role of Hedy in the UK and Ireland tour of Single White Female. The play, which is adapted by Rebecca Reid from the film of the same name and the book SWF Seeks Same by John Lutz, will hit the stage in January 2026. Taking to Instagram, Kym shared her excitement at taking on the new role. 'Aarrgghhh! I am so excited to announce that I'll be playing Hedy in this brand new stage adaptation of 90s blockbuster Single White Female,' she wrote. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video 'I remember being gripped when I first saw it in the cinema and I can't wait to be part of the team that brings it to life on stage. 'The UK and Ireland tour starts in January and you can find the link for dates, venues and tickets in my bio!' She finished, warning fans to 'Watch out for the stilettos!'. Her new venture was supported in the comments by several of her famous friends, with Corrie star Claire Sweeney writing: 'Well done darling.' 'Can't wait to watch you,' fellow Corrie alum Helen Flanagan added. Kym starred as Michelle Connor in Coronation Street from 2006 until 2019, when the character left to start a new life with family in Ireland. Michelle was part of some big storylines during her time on the cobbles, including the discovery that her son had been swapped at birth, the deaths of both of her brothers, a stalking ordeal, and a shooting. Perhaps her most moving storyline saw her tragically lose son Ruairi after going into early labour. Before her exit, Michelle was involved in a dramatic love triangle that saw her discover that fiancé Robert Preston was leading a double life, having got Vicky Jefferies pregnant. Following the discovery, Michelle and Vicky teamed up to get revenge on Robert by framing him for Vicky's murder. However, they scrapped their plan when Vicky went into labour while in hiding, with Michelle forced to deliver the baby. More Trending After leaving the show, Kym starred in several stage productions including the stage adaptation of Fatal Attraction and musicals Greatest Days and 101 Dalmatians. She has also presented BBC Morning Live and was a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing.
