Will there be a second season of Virgin Island? Everything we know about the divisive C4 show

Cosmopolitan28-05-2025
After three weeks and six, very interesting episodes, Virgin Island came to an end last night (Tuesday 27th May), with one of the adult virgins losing their virginity.
The show launched on Monday 12th May, with 12 adult virgins embarking on an experience of a lifetime in a bid to overcome their sexual fears and insecurities.
They were encouraged to take part in workshops led by sex experts and were given the opportunity to explore further with sex surrogates if they wished to.
The show received mixed reviews, with some calling it "creepy" or "excruciating", while others argued that we could all benefit from an experience like Virgin Island.
While many called the finale "uncomfortable" to watch, as the moment that Dave lost his virginity was revealed, viewers were still curious for more, with many questioning whether there'd be a second season.
So, is Virgin Island returning for a second season?
Here's what we know so far.
It's not yet known whether there will be a second season of Virgin Island, but given the popularity of the first season, it's looking very promising - plus the experts are up for it.
Speaking to Cosmopolitan UK about a possible second season, Celeste Hirschmam, MA, said: "Nothing you know planned as of yet, but yeah, I mean, we're totally on board for the project - 100 per cent."
Despite saying the show has "flaws", sex expert and Editorial Director at audio erotica platform BLOOM, said she'd be "surprised" if there wasn't a second season.
"Given the amount of attention the show has generated, and the conversations about sex and intimacy it has forced into the public domain, I'd be surprised if they didn't get a second season," Bell explained.
This will all depend on filming. Channel 4 are yet to confirm a second season, however, the first season was filmed a year ago, so if a similar time frame was followed, we probably wouldn't see the show back on air until Summer 2026.
We'll update you right here once we get an official confirmation.
We don't know for sure which experts will be guiding the participants, but below is a list of all the intimacy coaches who took part in season one:
It's likely we could see all the above back on the show.
It's too early to say for sure, but the show's experts only see the show getting bigger and better.
"We don't have specifics, but I know if there is another season that it will evolve and we'll sort of take what we learned from this one and see what kind things we can shift around to make it even more effective," Hirschman said.
It's likely that Channel 4 will use the same location for the second season if they go ahead with it.
Virgin Island was filmed at the Obonjan Island Resort in Croatia.
The four-star resort offers a "Mediterranean glamping style escape" with prices starting around €115 (£97) per night.
The resort opens for visitors between 8th July and 4th September.
Virgin Island is available to stream on Channel4.com

What else has Aggy K. Adams been in? Adams is a British actor who's previously had roles in The Witcher and Oh, Ramona!. Who is Leo? After a whirlwind romance with Charlotte while the pair were studying at the same medical school, Leo travelled the world trying to shirk the wealthy life he'd been born into. Ramamurthy is an American actor who's previously starred in Heroes, Beauty and the Beast and Never Have I Ever. Who is Alan? Dennis is a British comedian and actor who's previously starred in Fleabag, Nativity Rocks! and No Time to Die, among many others. Who is Gemma? Charlotte's longtime best friend and a senior manager at the hospital, Gemma is still reeling from her divorce after her husband Ben left her for a younger woman. The point at which she meets Leo, however, changes dramatically. But with Leo's heart still very much with Charlotte, can Gemma manage to turn his head? What else has Maimie McCoy been in? The British actor has previously had roles in ITV's reboot of Van der Valk and she starred as Milady de Winter in The Musketeers. Who is Ben? Ben is the hospital medical director, making him ostensibly Jacob's boss. Also in the grips of a mid-life crisis, Ben left his wife Gemma for a younger gym receptionist, but as Gemma grows close to Leo, he starts to question his choices entirely. What else has Adam James been in? British actor James has starred in all manner of films, and has also been a recurring character on Casualty. Who is Yvonne? Fellow nurse Yvonne is Mia's closest friend at the hospital. Known for keeping out of the hospital gossip and drama, Yvonne is loveable but unlucky in love, so when Mia suggests a potential match in Alan, her interest piques. Moodie is a British-Canadian actor and producer who's best known for her roles in Motherland and Silo, as well as her esteemed stage work with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre. 'There's hardly any strong couples': Love Island's Emily gives damning verdict on remaining Islanders

Love Island's Emily Moran has given her verdict on the remaining couples in the Villa, revealing there are no strong couples currently on the show. During her 'Fire Pit' interview with Cosmopolitan UK following her dumping from the Villa last week, Emily spoke about her time on the show, how she felt about her current partner Tommy returning from Casa Amor with Lucy and what she thought of the couples still on the show. As part of the interview she was asked if there are any strong couples in the Villa, and she said even when you're in the Villa, it doesn't feel like there's many strong couples as everyone is so open. "Everyone says they're 'open', that's all you hear, all the time but then people are not acting open," she said. "Then you see things behind people's backs and then you're like so 'you are acting open'. It's hard in there. At the minute I can't believe how many non-strong couples are in there." She then went onto give her verdict on two of the longest running couples in the Villa. Dejon and Meg have been together since the first day of the new series, however, they've had many ups and downs, but recently made things closed off. Emily said of the OG couple: "Dejon and Meg, they have a lot of respect for each other and there are a lot of feelings involved. They have said they're open, so him flirting, going on dates, he's not necessarily doing anything wrong but he's not telling the truth when he gets back and I think that's the problem." Harry and Helena who have been interested in each other for the majority of the show, and are very flirty with each other, but haven't closed things off yet has lead to a lot of confusion amongst fans as to what the nature of their relationship is. And Emily revealed fans aren't alone in their confusion, "Everyone in the villa is confused [about Harry and Helena]," she said. "They do have this magnetic spark. They're so similar, it does work, but then at the same time they have similar tendencies, obviously he's worse. But like Helena likes a flirt as well, she loves a little kiss. 'Hideaway Helena' as she likes to call herself. "They're very similar, so it can either be the best thing ever if they just prioritise each other or it could end in tears. It's like one or the other. But I think she's [Helena] just enjoying it to be honest." As for her own relationship with Tommy, Emily said she would consider getting back with him if he and Lucy don't work out, noting that the door is "still open". Emily was dumped from Love Island last week after Tommy arrived back in the main Villa with Lucy, who he had gotten to know during Casa Amor. As Emily had not chosen to recouple with any of the boys and therefore this left her single, which meant she was dumped from the Island. Love Island continues on ITV2 and ITVX tonight

Royal fans love the subtle way Prince William showed 'respect' to Kate Middleton at recent outing

As Wimbledon wraps for another year (congrats Sinner and Świątek!), fans of the Royal Family were treated to a rare sighting of the Prince and Princess of Wales enjoying the day together, along with two of their three children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. Thanks to the Princess' role as patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, ever since 2016 it is custom for her to present the winners of the Ladies' and Mens' Singles with their trophy prize. Making two appearances this year – one without her family on the 12th of July and one with on the 13th – the royal clan later shared happy photos of their outing on Instagram... which sparked eagle-eyed royal fans to comment on a perceived sweet but subtle gesture that Prince William appeared to make when supporting Catherine at the tournament. Commenting on the Prince falling back and allowing Catherine, George and Charlotte to walk ahead and greet the Wimbledon crowds, one person remarked (amassing over 1,000 likes in response), "Love the way Prince William let his family walk ahead of him. Such a beautiful and subtle show of respect." Another added, "I love that William knows that she's the show stopper here! 👑. That's respect and love and teaching his kiddos how to treat their Mum!" However, while the gesture might seem super romantic and just plain make sense given that Catherine is a tennis patron, it could actually just be down to royal tradition. Yep, that family has a whole bunch of rules that the rest of us would never even think about when it comes to our own relatives. Typically, because Prince William is next in line to the throne and the most senior royal of the Waleses, it's expected that his wife and children walk a pace or two ahead of him as a mark of respect. When entering an event as a whole family, King Charles is expected to be the last person to enter, given he is the actual monarch, with both Prince William and Queen Camilla in front of him. So there you have it – a mark of respect and a royal rule upheld. We love to see it.
