Outloud music festival in Boston celebrates LGBTQ+ community during Pride Month

CBS News20-06-2025
The Outloud music festival is coming to Boston this weekend, featuring high-energy performances from pop artists like Kim Petras and "RuPaul's Drag Race" star Trixie Mattel to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community.
The festival has taken off in West Hollywood, but Boston represents its East Coast debut, just in time to wrap up Pride Month in the city.
Performers will take the stage in East Boston at Suffolk Downs on Saturday. The former horse racing track reopened as a music venue a few years ago.
"Coming together and facing challenges"
Jeff Consoletti is Outloud's founder and he grew up in Milford. He tells WBZ-TV that this is "an exciting project to come home with."
"LA has been a great home for me, but you know I love my Boston and New England roots," he said. "I really also recall my first live concerts, whether it was like attending events at the old Foxboro or Great Woods. The young producer in me really like connected to just regionally how the area comes together to celebrate music."
Consoletti said Massachusetts felt like a "great East Coast home" for Outloud because of the state's longtime commitment to LGBTQ+ people. Boston recently declared itself a "sanctuary city" for transgender people and the broader LGBTQ+ community.
"We as a community can't take a step back. We have to show a commitment to one another, to solidarity, to coming together and facing challenges," Consoletti said. "That's really what Outloud stands for. It is important to create spaces where community can thrive."
Other artists in Saturday's lineup include Flo Milli, Rebecca Black, G Flip, Frankie Grande, Oompa, Big Body Kweeng, Hannah Rad and Math3ca. Tickets can still be bought online, starting at $69.

It's the third time Gaga leads the pack at the VMAs, following her 2010 and 2020 nomination hauls (in 2020, she tied with Ariana Grande at nine). Gaga and Bruno Mars are nominated in Video of the Year and Song of the Year for their collab 'Die with a Smile.' Though Mars is not among the Artist of the Year lineup, the musician snagged the second-most nominations with 11. Trailing Mars is Kendrick Lamar (nominated in both Video of the Year and Artist of the Year) with 10 total nods. Lady Gaga Leads 2025 MTV VMAs Nominations: See The Full List

Lady Gaga dominates the list of nominees for the upcoming 2025 MTV Video Music Awards. The pop icon collects more nods than any other artist this year, and she's one of only three names to score double-digit chances to win. Her work appears across some of the ceremony's most competitive categories, which is par for the course for one of the world's most celebrated superstars. Lady Gaga Earns 12 Nominations Gaga picks up 12 nominations at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, including high-profile mentions for Mayhem, 'Die With a Smile' — her duet with Bruno Mars — and 'Abracadabra.' The singer is in the running for Artist of the Year, Video of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Album, among others. This year marks the third time she has led the VMAs nominations, following similar showings in 2010 and 2020. Bruno Mars, Kendrick Lamar, Rosé, and Sabrina Carpenter Mars trails Gaga closely with 11 nominations – including several with Gaga – while Kendrick Lamar earns 10. Rosé and Sabrina Carpenter both collect eight nods, which mark personal bests for the two stars.
