Speaking on the occasion, he emphasised that government schools are the foundation for a bright future for students. He stated that the government is committed to providing quality education along with improved infrastructure in government schools. He further added that government teachers hold the responsibility of shaping students into capable individuals with high aspirations. He instructed all teachers to identify out-of-school children and take necessary steps to enroll them in government schools. The DEO also directed that the Badi Baata programme should be conducted as per schedule until June 19.
He informed that on June 12, the day of school reopening, textbooks, notebooks, and uniforms will be distributed to students.
He also recommended promoting the excellent results achieved by 10th-grade students in government schools at the local level to attract more enrollments.
A pledge was administered as part of the Badi Baata initiative to reaffirm the commitment to education for all.
The event was attended by Samagra Shiksha Coordinator Barapati Venkataiah, Textbook Manager Manapadu Narasimhulu, MEOs Srinivas Reddy, Shankar Naik, Chandrudu Naik, and several teachers and

‘Mega PTM 2.0' to be held across state on July 10
Vijayawada: The department of school education on Tuesday issued orders to conduct the 'Mega PTM 2.0' programme across all government, private aided, unaided schools and junior colleges in the state on July 10. As per the directions, necessary preparatory steps should be taken to ensure the success of this program. Samagra Shiksha state project director B Srinivasa Rao, issued operational guidelines to additional district project coordinators of Samagra Shiksha, district education officers, regional joint directors and district collectors regarding the implementation of the programme. He requested RJDs to coordinate with DEOs, APCs, and mandal educational officers (MEOs) within their jurisdiction and ensure close monitoring. He clarified that the Mega PTM, earlier scheduled for July 5, will now be conducted on July 10. On this occasion, director of school education Vijay Rama Raju V and Samagra Shiksha SPD B Srinivasa Rao, addressed RJDs, DEOs, APCs and other officers via video conference and gave necessary instructions. They said the Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) serves as a key platform to strengthen the bond between parents, teachers, and schools and PTMs help parents understand their child's academic progress, behavior, and social challenges, while also allowing teachers to seek their cooperation for the child's benefit. As per the orders, the Mega PTM 2.0 will be held in 61,135 educational institutions, with an expected participation of 2,28,21,454 people, including 74,96,228 students, 3,32,770 teachers and 1,49,92,456 parents, donors and others. Teachers will provide Holistic Progress Cards to parents, helping them understand their child's academic development. Under the supervision of the headmaster, an open meeting will be conducted to present school performance, infrastructure gaps and future action plans.

State to host largest every parent-teacher meeting on July 5
To strengthen bonds between parents, teachers and educational institutions, the School Education Department and the State Board of Intermediate Education is gearing up to host Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTM) on a mega scale across the State. Samagra Shiksha, State Project Director B. Srinivasa Rao said: 'Mega PTM 2.0' will be conducted in all government and private schools across the State on July 5. We have directed the District Education Officers (DEOs) and Additional District Project Coordinators (ADPCs) to coordinate and monitor the arrangements.' Mr. Rao said the proposed PTM would serve as a platform for parents to understand their children's academic progress, behaviour and social issues, while it would also enable teachers to seek parents' cooperation for the benefit of the students. 'The government believes that this collaborative approach will improve students' overall performance,' said Mr. Rao. Referring to last year's PTM, conducted on December 7, 2024, he said 25.46 lakh parents, 27,395 alumni, 22,200 donors and 36,918 public representatives participated across 44,956 schools. 'Other States are now considering replication this initiative,' he informed. He said the July 5 meeting would be held in 61,135 educational institutions, and they expect a participation of 2,28,21,454 individuals comprising of 74,96,228 students, 3,32,770 teachers and 1,49,92,456 parents, donors and others. Mr. Rao said that at the meeting, teachers will provide parents with Holistic Progress Cards and headmasters will inform parents and others about the school's performance, gaps in infrastructure and their future action plans. Fun activities and games would be conducted to promote camaraderie and success stories of students and schools would be shared and celebrated. The school campuses will have photo booths and dream walls besides sessions on positive parenting. Mr. Rao said that sapling plantation under the green drive 'Ek Ped Maa ke Naam' would be held to encourage participants to shoulder environmental responsibility. A registration app will be available for students interested in supplying saplings. The Board of Intermediate Education, meanwhile, will conduct PTMs in government private junior colleges on July 10, 2025. Board secretary Kritika Shukla said that the idea was to provide space for community participation and facilitate shared celebration of learning, purpose and belonging. She said: 'Besides interactive sessions on the progress of students, health screenings would be conducted under the Rashtriya Bala Suraksha Karyakram (RBSK) and students would be given health booklets, which would be tracked for the next two years.'

8,583 students selected for free admissions in pvt schools
Vijayawada: Asper the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act, Section 12(1)(c), 25 per cent seats in private unaided schools are reserved for free admissions to children from disadvantaged and weaker sections. For the academic year 2025-26, as part of the second phase lottery results, 8,583 students have been selected for free admissions in private schools, stated B Srinivasa Rao, State Project Director, Samagra Shiksha. The parents or guardians of the allotted students must visit the respective schools along with necessary verification documents to confirm the admissions from June 21 to 28. However, in view of requests from parents and officials, the deadline has now been extended till July 2, 2025 for admission confirmation. The details of selected students have been sent via SMS to the registered mobile numbers of parents and are also available on the official website: For further information, the toll-free number 1800 425 8599 can be contacted. Project Director Srinivasa Rao has made it clear that admissions must not be denied by the managements. He said all concerned private school managements are instructed to verify the submitted documents and confirm the admissions accordingly. Denial of admission without valid reason will invite departmental action. These admissions will be confirmed through logins specially assigned to the Additional Project Coordinators (APCs) of Samagra Shiksha at the district level. In case of any queries, school managements may contact the respective MEOs, DEOs or RJDs.
