Sex and the City fans spot insane blunder in And Just Like That episode
Sex and the City fans are pointing out a glaring continuity error on the spin-off show, And Just Like That, as the show appeared to kill off a character who was already dead.
'My father died this afternoon,' Lisa Todd Wexley (Nicole Ari Parker) says in the most recent season three episode. 'He had a stroke out of nowhere.'
The episode, called 'Silent Mode,' also includes his funeral. Observant viewers were quick to point out that in season one, Lisa also talked about her dad dying, reports the New York Post.
After And Just Like That, controversially began by killing off Big (Chris Noth) in season one, Lisa observed Carrie's reaction and told Charlotte, 'I was exactly the same when my father died last year.'
Oddly, season two then introduced her father, played by Billy Dee Williams.
Now, season three has killed him off … seemingly forgetting that he was apparently already dead in season one.
'Did ChatGPT write these episodes?' one viewer wrote.
Another fan wrote on X, formerly Twitter, 'Not And Just Like That killing Lisa Tod Wexley's father twice! @HBO Do you even care? Please pay attention!'
A third viewer wrote, 'sooooooo, lisa's dad was already [dead] on [season] 1 ep 2. I guess he reincarnated for a dinner party lisa hosted in [season] 2. now we're on [season] 3 ep 6 and it's lisa's dad's funeral. cancel 'and just like that' pls. put us outta our misery.'
When the Post reached out to reps for And Just Like That for comment, a source claimed that Lisa's dad who died in season one was a stepfather.
The original Sex and the City followed Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), and her friends Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall), Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte York (Kristin Davis) through dating adventures in New York City.
And Just Like That follows the friends dealing with life and dating in their '50s – without Samantha, amid behind-the-scenes cast feud rumours, which SJP has denied.
Cattrall did make a brief cameo in season two, and Samantha made an off-screen cameo (via text message) in a recent episode of season three.
Lisa is among the new characters added to the ensemble of And Just Like That, along with Seema Patel (Sarita Choudhury) and Che Diaz (Sara Ramirez), who was fired from the show before season three.
This isn't the first time an HBO show had a high profile continuity error, as Game of Thrones infamously left a coffee cup onscreen in the medieval fantasy show by mistake.

Original Naked Gun creator's swipe at reboot and star Liam Neeson
The director and co-writer of the original The Naked Gun film has taken a brutal swipe at the reboot and its star, Liam Neeson. David Zucker, along with his brother Jerry Zucker and Jim Abrahams, created the 1988 spoof comedy as well as the TV show that spawned it, Police Squad, but was not invited to join the team behind the new instalment. Instead, its co-written and directed by Saturday Night Live 's Akiva Schaffer and produced by Family Guy 's Seth Macfarlane. 'I don't plan on seeing it because, why would I?,' Zucker, 77, told the Daily Mail recently. 'I wrote a whole script for Naked Gun 4 on spec for Paramount. I understand the studio's thinking to go with Seth Macfarlane. He's a proven commodity and Liam Neeson is a big star, but it's not a fresh idea.' Zucker also claimed that Neeson was not the right fit for the beloved franchise he created. 'OJ [Simpson] … he didn't need to be funny,' he said. 'And even Leslie Nielsen doesn't need to be funny. He just had to be a B-movie actor. 'That's what we did … We didn't pretend to cast Laurence Olivier or even Al Pacino. But Liam Neeson, for example, he's like Oscar quality. I think he may have won for Schindler's List. So I mean, what's he making fun of?' According to Zucker, despite being shut out of the production, Macfarlane had eventually called him up personally. 'I had a conversation with Seth and he spent 10 minutes just telling me how he idolised Naked Gun, Airplane, Top Secret,' he said. 'How can you be mad at anybody who tells you how great you are? But it's not enough to be a fan … The guy at my dry cleaners is a big fan, but it doesn't mean he can do Naked Gun.' The new film in the beloved franchise sees Detective Frank Drebin's son, the equally bumbling Detective Frank Drebin Jr. (Neeson) caught up in a murder case, part of a broader sinister plot for mass destruction, which he must solve in order to prevent the police department from shutting down. Pamela Anderson co-stars as his love interest and investigative partner, Beth Davenport. Just like those in the original franchise, the latest Naked Gun movie leans in to the most bonkers humour – and even co-writer Doug Mand admitted to that he was shocked they got most of the jokes over the line. 'I can't believe this movie got made,' he revealed at the UK premiere. 'You dream about writing something that's silly and fun and joyful and they're not making a lot of movies like this anymore. Every joke that's on screen [in The Naked Gun], I can't believe they shot it, and I can't believe they spent money on shooting it.' Neeson revealed to that he'd needed to be 'convinced' to go through with some of the movie's more 'outrageous' scenes. 'There were a couple of apprehensions, mainly to do with the script,' the Taken actor, 73, said. 'There were certain scenes that were too outrageous.' After voicing his concerns, however, he was eventually thoroughly 'convinced they would work' by the production team. The Naked Gun certainly shows off a whole new side of the actor, who's known for his intimidating and stoic on-screen presence. But his latest role is actually more aligned with his sense of humour, as Anderson, 58, told joking that he was inherently 'a silly little boy'. 'He's very funny. I think with most people, there are so many sides to them, and that's what makes them interesting.' She added: 'Playing it straight was very important to make this film work – we had to make sure we weren't trying to be funny. That we were in the relationship, and in the situation, and then the comedy came from the circumstances.'

Tyra Banks makes shocking confession about ‘disgusting and erotic' addiction
Tyra Banks knows how to pick 'em. The supermodel revealed her 'disgusting and erotic' habit of popping pimples and picking dirt from other people's toes during Thursday's episode of US show Today With Jenna & Friends. 'I like to pick. I like the toe, and if it has some stuff in it, I don't mind digging it out,' Banks, who is co-hosting this week, told Jenna Bush Hager. 'But I have a kit. You have to have a kit. Some alcohol, you know. Some stuff!' When Bush Hager asked who she targets with these rituals, the America's Next Top Model alum admitted that anyone in her household is fair game, reports Page Six. 'Anyone that wants it — my mum, my friends, my man, my son,' Banks confessed, referencing her beau, Louis Bélanger-Martin. 'And then, a pimple? If you had a pimple, I would be staring at you.' Banks labelled her 'addiction' as 'disgusting and erotic at the same time,' explaining, 'It touches those parts of me.' However, the TV personality, 51, does have her limits. 'Nether regions. I'm not picking up in those,' Banks said. 'If somebody's like, 'Oh, can you check this?' I'm like, 'No … that's where I draw the line.' Chest up and knees down? It's on. I'm not popping and picking nothing [outside of] there.' The model further grossed out Bush Hager as she explained that her foot-focused obsession can get quite stinky at times. 'The toenail, because there's been stuff in there. The jam. The toe jam is up in the nail, and then you pick, and sometimes it's different colours. Sometimes it's brown, sometimes it's green,' she described. Banks has been romantically linked to Canadian businessman Bélanger-Martin since August 2018. In November 2019, we exclusively reported that the pair was taking the next step in their relationship by moving in together. 'Tyra and Louis live together but Louis always moves around a lot for business reasons,' an insider told us, adding that he and his ex-wife, Valérie Martin Scraire, have an apartment in England, a house in Barbados, and a home in Magog, Quebec. 'Louis also spends some time with his own child in England and around the world for business,' said the source. 'Tyra's child has his own room at Louis [and] Valerie's house in Magog and Tyra moved some of her stuff — clothes, jewellery — there too.'

And Just Like That... to end after three seasons
And Just Like That... is ending after three seasons. The Sex and the City sequel series will finish on August 14 following the conclusion of the two-part finale, showrunner Michael Patrick King announced on Friday (01.08.25). In a message posted on HBO Max's social media pages, he said: "And just like that... the ongoing storytelling of the Sex and the City universe is coming to an end. While I was writing the last episode of And Just Like That... season three, it became clear to me that this might be a wonderful place to stop. "Along with Sarah Jessica Parker, Casey Bloys and Sarah Aubrey, we decided to end the popular series this year with a two-part finale and extended the original series order from 10 episodes to 12. "SJP and I held off announcing the news until now because we didn't want the word 'final' to overshadow the fun of watching the season. It's with great gratitude we thank all the viewers who have let these characters into their homes and their hearts over these many years." And Just Like That... launched in 2021 and saw Sarah, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis reprise their Sex and the City roles as Carrie Bradshaw, Miranda Hobbes and Charlotte York Goldenblatt respectively. However, Kim Cattrall did not return as Samantha Jones - although she did make a cameo appearance in season two and has been mentioned in episodes through text messages with Carrie. Sarah admitted recently that she doesn't actually watch the show because she hates seeing herself on screen. The 60-year-old star told Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen: "I don't not watch it because I'm being cavalier about my relationship [to the project]. I don't watch it because I don't love watching my work [and] myself." However, the actress insists that she cares deeply about the programme. Sarah said: "It doesn't touch on how I feel about the experience or how much I care. In fact, it's because I care that I can't watch it." She also played Carrie in the original Sex and the City series - which aired between 1998 and 2004 and spawned two movies - and has always relished the experience of portraying the character because of her alter ego's curiosity about sex. Parker said: "(It) is not like me - I don't talk about that at all even with friends. I'll talk about it globally, but I don't sit and share intimate details of my life that way."
