Race Across the World couple say it 'opened their eyes'
The pair, who came third, did not reveal the result to family and friends and watched the final episode alongside them at a local pub."It was a nice place to see it, a nice place to give Race Across the World a send off," Fin explained."No-one knew where we came but I did have to tell my mum where we went though, because the Great Wall of China is a place she's always wanted to go."The pair said the reaction has been heart-warming."A lot of people have been very kind, even people we meet down the street," said Sioned.
During the show each of the teams had to pass seven checkpoints in China, Nepal and India on their route to the finish line. They were banned from travelling by air, and instead given a budget of £1,140 per person for the journey. They were also not allowed to use their smartphones or bank cards to organise transport, food and accommodation.According to figures from TV ratings body Broadcasters' Audience Research Board (Barb), the series was the most watched programme in the UK across all channels and streaming platforms during each week it aired, with the exception of the week the Eurovision Song Contest was broadcast.
Sioned had watched the show before and enjoyed taking part, but said it was also challenging."It was putting your body, your mind just everything through the mill, it was hard," she said."We missed a bus and we were 36 hours behind."She added the race element to the show also added to the stress, as the thought of falling behind was constantly on her mind."One mistake can cost you."However, for the couple, who have been together for five years, the experience was worth it - especially as they had both wanted to visit Nepal."When I opened the envelope and I saw 'you're going to Kathmandu' I thought wow incredible," Fin said. "I'd do it again!"To help get them through the two-month trip Sioned decided to bring a part of Wales with them including a Welsh branded towel, a Wales football keyring and a charm from her mother on her bracelet."It was quite comforting to have something because we have zero contact with home that whole time," she said.
The pair added the time away helped give them a more rounded perspective. "I just didn't have an idea of what I wanted to do with my life," said Sioned, who feels the show helped her grow as a person."I want to explore more, take time with things and just live life as best I can."We've come back with so many more life skills, we understand each other more, we understand people in general more and we just know the world has much more to offer."It's opened our eyes a lot".
The childhood sweethearts are now planning another big trip."It just makes us want to travel even more now," said Fin. "We went to Australia as soon as we came back which we wouldn't have done if we hadn't done Race Across the World."Sioned added: "We've just got that itch that's just not going away to travel more now."A reunion episode featuring this year's cast is set for June 18 on BBC One.Applications for the next series of Race Across The World are open until 6 July.

Danny Dyer's earnings 'unveiled' after being 'skint' before landing EastEnders role
Danny Dyer has earned a huge fortune thanks to his work in TV and film, but the actor has been honest about his financial woes in the past Danny Dyer 's impressive earnings have reportedly been disclosed, following a series of successful roles in popular shows over the past year. The 48 year old star, known for his performances in Mean Machine and Football Factory, has been candid about his financial struggles in the past, confessing he hit a rough patch before securing his role on EastEnders. Danny was cast as Mick Carter in the BBC One soap in 2013 and remained a regular in Walford until 2022, when his character mysteriously disappeared at sea. Since leaving EastEnders, Danny has secured a number of acting roles. He's starred in ITV 's Rivals and Sky's Mr. Bigstuff, which earned him a BAFTA for his performance. Thanks to this success, Danny's amassed a substantial fortune, with accounts filed at Companies House revealing that his company, Arty Bucco, made £1.4 million in the last financial year, reports OK!. These figures show Danny has made an impressive £712,221 more than the previous year, according to MailOnline. In addition to his acting income, Danny's also earned money from hosting shows such as The Wall and Scared of the Dark. He's also appeared in documentaries like Danny Dyer's Right Royal Family and participated in shows such as Celebrity Gogglebox and The Assembly. However, Danny's wealth hasn't always been so vast, with the actor admitting he was struggling financially before landing his role in EastEnders in 2013. Previously speaking on the Jonathan Ross Show, Danny admitted: "I didn't have an audition, they rung me up, I had a touch. They said, 'Listen we want you to come in the show, take over the Queen Vic' and at the time I was skint and I just had about enough petrol money to get there, that's the truth. "They thought I was a multimillionaire and I met them in the hotel and I walked in absolutely skint, not a bean about me. I thought, I hope they don't ask me to get them a lager because I've got no dough." He confessed that he attempted to "play down" his enthusiasm at being offered the part, as he didn't want to "look desperate" in front of BBC executives. He added: "I went, 'I'll think about it' and then I walked out and I did a couple of backflips on the way out! I played it right down, I didn't want to look desperate and I was desperate."

Destination X - How to play along at home with BBC One show
Destination X has kicked off on BBC One, with Rob Brydon dropping a cast of strangers in various places all over the world - and challenging them to work out where they are BBC One's brand new reality competition Destination X kicked off this week, with 13 strangers hoping to win £100,000 by correctly guessing where in the world they've been plonked. Hosted by Rob Brydon, the series takes its adventurous cast to a different location each episode, where they must use the show's cryptic clues to work out where they are. Whoever's guess is the furthest away from the actual destination is kicked off the show RV, while the others get even closer to that jackpot prize. Fans have been gripped by Destination X since it aired on Wednesday night, with many left gobsmacked by one challenge that required one contestant to abseil out of a gondola that was up 2,000 metres in the air in the Swiss mountains. Those watching at home can also play along with the contestants from the comfort of their sofas thanks to the BBC's brand new website. It comes after Strictly's Anton Du Beke shared heartbreak over wife's 'cruel and inexplicable' diagnosis. If you would like to know how you can guess along with the Destination X contestants, here's everything you need to know. How play Destination X at home To play along with Destination X at home and have a go at guessing where the contestants are, all you need to do is head to the BBC's Destination X website. You will be required to log into your BBC account or set up one to do so, but once you're in, you can choose an episode to play along with. In order to narrow down your guessing area, you can answer five trivia questions - if you answer them correctly, the map will become smaller, giving you a better chance of choosing the right location. You can always play the 'Where Am I?' game, where you're dropped into the Google StreetView of a random location and must guess within a five kilometre radius of the place. When you're ready, you can place your X on the map and once the episode has aired, the website will reveal whether you were correct or not. For every right answer you get - within 50km of the destination - you earn a virtual badge that you can share with your friends. So far in the competition, we've seen five contestants be brutally cut from the competition - with three being booted from the show before even leaving the airport for the first destination.

The high-pressure Final Chart Rundown sees contestants try and name 10 songs and artists. After five seconds of each song has played, the money in the prize pot starts to drop. This means that players make less money the longer time they take. Watch the moment The Hit List star wins £10k jackpot for first time in show history with tricky music question However, dream Paul and Tom answered every one correctly in less than five seconds, therefore keeping every penny. "We always knew that we'd go on together, as you need knowledge of music spanning all decades. "The two teams we were competing with were incredible, I couldn't believe when we go through to the final round, the adrenaline was immense and obviously over the moon with the result.' Paul said: "Tom inherited his love of music from me, we are big quizzers, and music is always our speciality subject. "To get through to the final round was a big achievement as it was competitive game play throughout. "I would have been happy with £1,000 and a day out with my son. "We weren't aware that no-one had won the jackpot before and as we got to song seven in the final round the tension in the studio was palpable. "I was very proud of Tom for getting the song names in about three seconds."
