Aaron Ramsey Inks Farewell Letter To Cardiff City
Last Updated: The former Arsenal star's return to Cardiff proved to be a challenging stint for the midfielder, who was plagued by injuries. Aaron Ramsey inked an emotional farewell message to Cardiff City on Sunday following his exit from his boyhood club, which he rejoined in the 2023 season. The 34-year-old former Arsenal star's return to Cardiff served to be a challenging stint for the midfielder, who was plagued by injuries. Ramsey, who came through the ranks at Cardiff before becoming the youngest to debut for the club in the year 2007, made the move to Arsenal in 2008 and helped the Londoners to three FA Cup titles and two FA Community Shields. I leave Cardiff city with a lot of different emotions. Although it has been personally challenging at times I made sure to give my all on and off the pitch for this wonderful club that is so close to my heart. 'Although it has been personally challenging at times I made sure to give my all on and off the pitch for this wonderful club that is so close to my heart," he revealed. 'For now I am on a new adventure but I will be keeping a close eye on the club as always and it will forever have my support," the Welshman continued. 'Good luck to the staff and all the players for the upcoming season and a big thank you to the amazing fans! Until next time, Aaron," he signed off. Ramsey has also enjoyed spells at Juventus, where he won the Serie A in 2019/20 and the Coppa Italia in 2021. Ramsey, who stood in as Cardiff's caretaker for the side's final three games of the 2024/25 season, has also represented Nottingham Forest, Rangers and Nice briefly. Ramsey, who is tipped for a move to Mexican outfit Pumas Unam, has 86 caps for Wales, for whom he has netted 21 times in international competitions. First Published: June 29, 2025, 19:42 IST

Premier League transfer news: Calvert-Lewin to leave Everton after contract renewal talks fail
Former England international Dominic Calvert-Lewin announced on Sunday he will leave Everton on a free transfer after failing to agree a new contract with the Toffees. Calvert-Lewin, 28, said he was seeking a 'new challenge' after a nine-year spell on Merseyside. The former Sheffield United striker was once the deputy to Harry Kane as England's number nine, scoring four times in 11 appearances. But his last inclusion in an England squad was as part of the team that reached the final of Euro 2020. He leaves as Everton's third-highest goalscorer in the Premier League with 71 goals in 273 appearances in all competitions. However, his career has been blighted by a number of lengthy spells on the sidelines due to injuries. 'After nine remarkable years at this club, I've made the incredibly difficult decision — together with my family — to begin a new chapter in my career,' Calvert-Lewin said in a message posted on Instagram. 'The choice to move on was not simply about me - it was a decision my family and I spent a long time considering together. 'We believe it is the right moment to seek a new challenge and continue growing, but that doesn't lessen the bond I'll always have with Everton.' Manchester United, Newcastle and Chelsea are among the clubs to have previously been linked with a move for Calvert-Lewin.
