Lorraine, 65, has been appearing on ITV breakfast screens for over four decades.
She joined the original breakfast TV station TV-am in 1994 as its Scotland Correspondent.
When the Camden-based company lost its licence, she was one of only a few stars who made the switch to GMTV in 1993.
Since then she has been a mainstay fixture on ITV screens in various iterations of the morning format.
However, the commercial network has announced sweeping changes to its daytime output.
From January, Lorraine will only take to the airwaves for 30 weeks of the year and for only half an hour at a time.
Following the announcement, fears rose that the veteran presenter could quit the channel entirely.
However, she insisted that she was not quite done yet when she spoke to Tom Kerridge on the Proper Tasty podcast.
"I've been doing telly for over 40 years. It's mad isn't it? It's absolutely crazy," Lorraine remarked.
"I started in breakfast telly in 1984, and I'm still getting away with it. Extraordinarily.

"40 years in TV last year was incredible. I got a BAFTA. "Here's a BAFTA for being alive." I thought, "Hang on a minute, I'm not done yet".'
However, the star did allude that she likes to do different projects away from her
She continued: "Not so much in the morning, but if I do a wee show on Channel 4, or The Last Leg, or something like that. You can be unleashed. And I quite like that.
"You do have to have a self-edit button, and I'm finding mine is not operating as much as it should.
ITV's daytime TV schedule changes in full
Good Morning Britain will be extended by 30 minutes to run from 6am to 9.30am daily.
Lorraine will run from 9.30am-10am, on a seasonal basis for 30 weeks of the year.
During the weeks Lorraine is not on air, Good Morning Britain will run from 6am to 10am.
This Morning will remain in its 10am-12.30pm slot on weekdays throughout the year.
Loose Women will be in the 12.30-1.30pm slot, again on a seasonal basis for 30 weeks of the year.
The changes will take effect from January 2026.
Lorraine added: "So, when I'm sitting there and I look at something and I think, "Gosh, what an absolute k**b that person is," or how silly they are, I say it and I don't realise I've said it. So I have to watch."
This comes after it was reported that Lorraine had refused an 'insulting offer' from bosses to sign a new contract.
A source explained that she declined the opportunity to merge her daytime show with Good Morning Britain, and was 'prepared to walk away.'
A new role titled 'Head of Lorraine' has also been created to oversee the daytime changes, but the contract only lasts for 12-months.

Inside Love Island's 'dry runs' after two stars were discovered during secret process
It has emerged that two of Love Island's stars were discovered during the dry run, which is a pre-production stage that allows the crew to sort out logistics Love Island bosses have to hold a "dry run" before the series goes on camera - and one of this year's standout stars was found during that period. In television terms, a dry run is a rehearsal of a programme before the real one filmed, and producers of the ITV2 dating show have to have a separate cast to work with for the sake of logistics before cameras actually start rolling on set. Other shows known to undergo a dry run before the series goes into production, including Big Brother. The 12th series of Love Island is currently on air, and Lauren Wood has become a prominent Islander thanks to her love triangle with Harrison Luna. Insiders recently claimed that Lauren impressed bosses so much that they "guaranteed her a slot in Casa Amor", but she is not the only one. It has also been claimed that Ty Isherwood - who is currently coupled up with Lauren - was also part of the dry run, meaning that the pair of Islanders knew each other well before their love blossomed. Revealing that they even got close then, a source explained to The Sun: "Ty and Lauren are acting like they've only just met but that's far from the case. They hooked up during the dry run, which is where a fake cast moves into the villa to test out everything from camera angles, to kitchen appliances and run-through challenge. "And then they even saw each other on the outside before ITV invited them back to be part of Casa Amor. Now they're both in the main villa pretending like none of this ever happened but it's all entirely fake and ITV know about it. Viewers deserve to know it's all a huge sham." The programme, which initially aired in the late 2000s, has been on-screen in its revived format for a decade, and another famous face face from the villa was initially from the dry run. Sanam Harrinanan emerged victorious from the ninth series in 2023 alongside her now-fiancé Kai Fagain and she is thought to have been discovered in the dry run, which takes place two months before the actual competition, reports The Tab. Plenty of others have also found success through the pre-production stage, and series eight contestant Summer Botwe previously explained how they work. During a Q&A section on Instagram, she said: "In short form: they take 12 people who applied or were scouted for the show to do a test run of the show for 2 days, to check all the cameras work and everything is running smooth before they film with the actual chosen contestants." At the time, she noted that the stage also serves as a chance for hopefuls to show potential, adding: "However it's also like opportunity to show your personality and vibe to producers as 1/2 are usually chosen from the dry run to either be a bombshell or casa amor contestant in the real show" But Summer also revealed that she ended up being selected alongside Billy Brown, who was briefly involved with eventual finalist Tasha Ghouri, but insisted that neither of them knew at the time that either of them would be chosen for the show before they saw each other on set, adding: "A secret: both me and billy done the dry run and we were besties but neither of us knew we were chosen to do casa so we were stunned at the casa recoupling fire pit when we saw each other." Narrator Iain Stirling has previously exposed the details of the dry dry run before as he spoke out on the "crazy, mad" process of it all on the So Bad It's Good podcast, noting: "We've had dry runs of Love Island when we put people who aren't going into the show. We literally have a three-day practice where people go in and they're in Love Island but it's not on telly. It's sort of crazy, it's mad." And in revealing that the dry run can sometimes be more outrageous than the actual show, he said: "And if you think people going on the show get up to no good. Imagine what they do if they know it's not televised. Let's say it's not that dry in some cases."

Elizabeth Hurley buried in a coffin in teaser for new reality show on Channel 4
The Inheritance sees 13 strangers summoned to a stately home to compete for part of the fortune left in the will of Hurley's character 'the Deceased'. In a new clip Hurley, 60, is seen lying in her grave surrounded by mourners and items of value, as she says: 'I'm dying to see what happens.' Overseeing the stipulations of the Deceased's will is her executor, Robert Rinder, a criminal barrister who fronted the ITV show Judge Rinder. To win the money the players need to fulfil a series of final requests, as stipulated in the Deceased's will. However, only one player can claim the money gained in each request, so it's up to one of them to persuade the others that they alone deserve the cash they earned together. Hurley is most known on the big screen for playing Vanessa Kensington in the Austin Powers films and has also starred in 2000's Bedazzled and TV series Gossip Girl. The Inheritance is a 12-episode series co-produced by Studio Lambert and GroupM Motion Entertainment. Transmission details are yet to be announced.
